These games are right up my alley, but even after turning thirty, I still can’t find any explanation that helps me see Japan’s censorship culture as anything other than… well, stupid. I honestly wish they’d stop doing this, at least in games.

As it tends to be with those things, I bet it started as some "think of the children" thing, and then it was a good way to make easy money and control that sector. Easy to implement, hard to remove, because who wants to be known as the porn legislator?

Good evening, or perhaps I should say good morning!
Today, we are releasing update version 1.0.8.

This version primarily focuses on fixing various minor bugs in the game—yes, the major bugs were all fixed in v1.0.7.
We've also made some optimizations to the player experience, such as for New Game+.

In versions 1.0.6 through 1.0.8, we have done our best to implement retroactive fixes for old save files. However, if you still encounter bugs that are strongly related to your save data... you can try deleting the www/save/config.rpgsave file.
Some players have reported that deleting this file successfully recovered their saves. If that still doesn't work, there might not be much else we can do. In that case, we are terribly sorry, but please try starting a new game after deleting all save files. (bows)

On another note, our sales on DLsite are about to hit 20,000 copies! This is wonderful news!
We have already begun preparing a celebratory illustration for the 20,000 sales milestone and have started production on the text and CG for the DLC.

While "Fallen Priestess" wasn't a massive hit, its sales are more than enough for us at BBQ to have a good year. At the very least, the development funds for our next FPS project are secured, and we have enough reserve funds to start thinking about the project after that.

Although there were many objective reasons, the development cycle for this game was far too long. In the future, we will definitely manage the scope of our development better, focus our energy and resources on the project at hand, and do our utmost to avoid the kind of chaos that occurred during the development of this game.

V1.08 is out.
Changelog:
1. Fixed a bug where the villa would be empty at noon.
2. Fixed a bug in the Prince battle where armor resurrection was effective for all party members.
3. Fixed a bug where the firearm trial mission could end abnormally and the blue-print was not awarded correctly. Blueprints will be reissued to players who have already completed this mission.
4. Fixed a bug where the enemy respawn mechanism only triggered once when the player entered or exited a map, causing spawns not to be calculated correctly by date.
5. Fixed a bug where an extra "Asahi Dream Sand" would be consumed during a quest.
6. Fixed a bug where, under specific conditions, party formation movement would not re-enable correctly after being disabled.
7. Fixed a bug where it was possible to enter the villa storyline after obtaining the "Demon-Slaying Broken Sword" under certain extreme circumstances.
8. Fixed a bug in NG+ where quest items were unintentionally carried over, causing story skips.
11. Fixed some unreachable areas on certain maps and adjusted the positions of some dialogue triggers.
12. Fixed an issue where, under some extreme conditions, the player could appear in an abnormal position after returning to the villa.
13. Other minor optimizations and bug fixes.

Aaaand you guys were right, this game really is their way of raising funds for their upcoming FPS project.
From their Ci-en post:

Note: I can’t upload the patch as an attachment because the file is too large. You can get it here:

Has anyone ever gotten any of the random "minor" night events to show up? I have only had a single one show up, and it's the only one that keeps popping up over the course of Months of in-game time. Is it broken, or am I just missing something?

I'm curious to know what their next game will be, although I'm not a fan of FPS games, I hope it's pretty good

Well, it's gonna get even worse with the payment crackdown.

Well, between the steam db/dlsite #'s they made around $425,000 after factoring in all the blood money to distributors/publishers, but bump up half of it another 45% for the conversion and...well....it's hard to add up every little thing. Seems good for like 10 days of sales.

Even though their blogs seem to be from different people with far different tones, they where pretty up front about how the Kabukicho game was low effort and mashed together to help fund this, but almost cathardic since one of them lives in a cheap apartment that gets a full view of all the sign girl hookers "I'm a 'hostess' 3,000 yen" types.
