Hey everyone!
We're sorry to make this post, but unfortunately we won’t be able to deliver an update today. We are very close and have been working through the weekend, but we aren't going to have enough time to finish development. In particular, the final testing and polish stage would be extremely rushed.
As such, please expect Episode 05 to be released this Friday, the 5th of September.
To go into things in a bit more detail: Obviously the increased scope of the animation in this update has given us a little more to deal with than we expected, but that is not the only factor. There have also been some last-minute rewrites which delayed production on those animation variations (Roughly totaling at 130 in Episode 05, compared to Episode 04’s 44), which ultimately ended up being the reason that we missed our internal goal of delivering the update by today.
As it turns out, the increased production value on FUNS compared to TTP has been a lot heavier on us than we expected. We knew it was going to be ambitious, and we are proud of the results, but it has been a significant challenge. We will continue to try to improve at our craft so that we will be able to deliver high quality updates in a more timely manner, but the long work days that some of our team members have currently been dealing with are not sustainable.
That being said, we’ve decided that we should warn you that going forward, it’s quite possible that updates may take 35-40 days to develop, rather than the ~30 from our previous project. That isn’t a guarantee that things will take longer, as we are working hard to curb that and consider it a priority, but we do not want to disappoint our fans with false promises. Additionally, if the episodes end up taking longer than that to produce, we will do our best to communicate that to you as far in advance as possible.
