VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - Family Matters [Ep. 1-13] [Perv2k16]

Ok lets just get the bad outta the way 1st.. the dialogue needs some IMMEDIATE work done to it.. I can gladly appreciate that the creator might not use english as his/her 1st language and thats fine and acceptable but PLEASE for the sake of what could be an amazing piece of AVN work.. Get a proofreader and or someone with a proper understanding of the english language to go over the script either before or immediately after publication and make those much needed changes.. its often quite painful to read which is a massive shame given the quality of the renders, the storyline and he structure of the scenes which are all very high quality and the making of a great visual novel despite the equally crippling script dialogues..
The characters are some of the best designed and rendered i've come across in VNs and the storyline that they all find themselves in is a dark tale crime drama that has my interest to see what direction they go next... that is when i can understand what should have been said in any given scene.. Please take the chance to improve the dialogue as i HONESTLY think this is a VN worth peoples time and support if that one major flaw can be addressed..

Most reviews here mentioned about game mechanics and pseudo choices but since this one's adult game I'll talk about that.
Vaginal sex is the biggest scam here. Literally made me frustrated but japanese uncensored came at my rescue in the end lol..
Characters, omfg they'll give you seizure as you progress through the game.
There's a prostitute (escort to be honest) who likes to invite her client at her apartment, initially she seemed likable person irrespective of her profession but she'll be the least of your problems. Most excruciating thing in this game is Scarlet, whenever she opens her mouth sewer starts flowing outa it i don't know if developer wanted her to be like that or the writing is at guilt here. You can't say no to her by the way. A lesbian roommate who is okay for the most part and your neighbor who happens to be a stress reliever (handjob/blowjob at most).
Focused adult element in here until now is lesbianism/bisexuality. EVERY female characters in the game has indicated that. And i don't think it's going to be any different in near future, hell i think it will be more prominent than ever.
I don't mind some scissoring but at least give some hole to stick that 20 feet long dick, what was the purpose of that thing? It's episode 10 man.
In the end, I'm sorry to say this but end this pain as quickly as possible. Because 4 years and nothing to show is one waste of space.

Really the only aspect of this VN that is good are the renders. The models are hot and the images are crisp.
The story feels like it could be interesting, but the very poor English translations ruin it.
Also the mini games and making you randomly click on pointless items to advance the story, are very frustrating.
Additionally when you are given choices - many times the choices lead to a random game over, other times the choices are meaningless and don't have any real impact on the VN (so why have them then).
The VN should also have a built in walk-through IMO.

Basically the VN is mostly a mess and, at least for me, isn't very enjoyable.

Very nice "slow(ish) burner" game with nice graphics (hopefully with further improvements in next updates), just enough of lewd content and interesting storyline.

Although missing textbox transparency and text size/colour controls downgraded my rating from 5* to 4* as it affects game experience quiet a bit just like majority of other games with same UI issue

There are some things here that really tickle my (ahem) fancy. But a lot of it is odd and irritating, and the oddness and irritation is increasing.
It's a VN with choices and minigames. The choices are non-intuitive and either meaningless or lead to game over, so I recommend saving at every one. The minigames are random and feel more like the teacher throwing chalk at you to make sure you're paying attention. Like, "hey, are you paying attention, or are you just clicking to the next erotic scene? Well, here's a spot quiz to check."

This is a noir, MC is a sleek secret agent, surrounded by lesbians, virgins and femmes fatale. Lots of night scenes, fast cars and gunplay. It starts with intriguing mystery and menace. Unfortunately, this ambience dissipates with every update, and the plot is becoming random, just throwing bits of intrigue at the wall to see if they stick. Dialogue also begins nicely hard-boiled, but by about chapter 5 it's switched to full- Dostoevsky, meaning-of-life confessional, and gets really tedious.

The renders, too, are way better in the beginning, very cinematic. Early on, there is a great sequence where the MC goes out on a mission and gets stopped by a cop. To me, it's a near-perfect example of using cinematic style in a VN. Really kinetic, and an excellent use of sound.

The erotic stuff is often weird, but sometimes outstanding. I say weird because the way the MC speaks in the erotic scenes is really out of character to how he speaks everywhere else. It's like, "Vodka martini, shaken, not stirred," followed by "yeah, baby, suck that big cock." Like, the moment Sean Connery takes his pants off he transforms into Mike Myers. And there are many mascara-ruining irrumations, which, I er, don't mind, but just wish there was a little more going on. Seems rather, well, selfish and inconsiderate to the lady.

Where the erotic content is outstanding is the scenes with the MC and his, er, houseguest. These are wonderful (even if they are repeatedly interrupted by random doorbells, gunshots, and people screaming).

One odd thing about the artwork I have to mention... does the MC have mirrors on all the walls of his apartment? It seems every image includes a reflection. Just an odd way to live.

Kind of a rambling review, I know. But my main observation is that this VN is taking its time. Updates are very slow, and quite sparse. I wonder if that's the problem, the reason why the strong start is going downhill. Is there a kind of creative momentum you need for these things, and if you take too long, and do too little, do you lose it? Like I say, a strong start, but then it's as if the dev is like, "huh? I guess I'd better toss out another chapter."

It's a pretty fast play, and there is gold in here, so I do recommend.

I was very optimistic, a game out for years, with 10 chapters and pretty good preview renders.

Well ... I'm disappointed to say the least.

First, for a game that's been out for 4 years, it's actually insane how little content there is. Looking at the image folder, about 1k actual renders.

Next comes the thing I hate the most in VNs, random game over screens.
You are presented with 2 options, a) leads to game over, b) continues the story.
What's the fucking point ? I'll just rollback / load an automatic save.
And while I'm on the topic of choices, when it's not a game over it's the dev telling me to click the other choice first ... Why put a menu with choices if there is no choice to make ?

There is more to say, like the lack of replay gallery or walkthrough, but I won't put more effort in a review than the dev put in his game.

This game gets 2 stars for above average renders.

Good story.
Some engrish incidents here and there, nothing major.
Could improve many things, but overall this is a great game that I'd recommend to anyone interested.

Renders:
I'm fine with the renders, and it seems that they are getting better and better every update. I'd say it's a 9/10.
This game often uses the same renders over and over throughout a scene, which isn't too bad, but it would be nicer if there were more renders, with more variety and angles.

Main Story:
I actually am really like the general story in this game, better than usual.
You'll still get more time with the girls than your "work", but it's good for the story.
I don't always read everything in some games (especially when it's not about the relationships) as it can get boring, but I enjoyed reading everything on this game.

Girls:
The main 3 girls (Julie, Vicky and Nicole) are really lovely and I like their stories and roles in the game.
I don't really have much interest in the 1 secondary girl (Scarlett), some people might though. But it's honestly a pain in the ass, I hope we can get a Solo ending with Julie, or at least a threesome with Vicky.

Sex:
Medium pace, game begins teasing them a lot, progresses to BJ, and sex is rare for now, but I believe it will only get better from here.
It works for the story, that's what really matters, and this way it's sexier, but it's not a grind too.

Liquids: (I like mentioning this in my reviews)
Honestly not bad, it would be appreciated if blowjobs included more though, even when finishing inside the mouth, would be nice having some liquids in there or slipping on the side of the girl's mouth.
I haven't seem any scene with creampie, I'm hoping they'll include some nice liquids on it.

The crying effect on make-up is REALLY great!
Hard to see this in most games, it looks really nice in the scenes they use it.

Rating:
It's closer to 5 than to 4, but it's not perfect.
I'd give it a 4.6/5 if I could be more specific.
It comes down to small text mistakes, some rare bad posing, etc.
Some more post-sex renders with more liquids would be appreciated, but it's not lacking either.
And Scarlett, I don't want Scarlett.

As many of others have said, it is pretty to look at, but not a lot else.

• No choices (there are selection points, but you literally have 1 option so why even make me click it?)

The models and renders are nice, but the "story" and dialogue just make it hard to sit through.

The game has great graphic and well-written interesting story. There are quite a few interesting choices but the story seems to be quite linear (the other option is often getting killed and game over).
However, some things are quite annoying. No-one address each other as 'Housemate' (or 'Landlady' or 'Tenant'). This is obviously used to cover incest and if you are normal and hate incest then you need to bear such artificial dialogues. This really spoils the fun and that's why I'm giving the poor note instead of good. I'm quite shocked how much incest is popular now. What is wrong with the people?!

Renders are good, story is decent, characters have good relatively deep personalities, but the mini-games are terrible and the amount of faux choices and single choice breaks are asinine. Seriously, if you are only going to have a single option to choose why do you even do this? It's asinine.

after receiving a warning about a negative review that was getting a lot of support from the community, i noticed that none of my reviews strictly adheres to the site rules of reviews as outlined by the trial moderator who messaged me regarding the warning.

While its premise is very exciting, the game's story feels rushed and the mechanics can be frustrating.

The premise of the game is interesting, playing with a ton of contrasts between the MC's job/life and the people surrounding it, with some interesting choices to make. However, the dialogue feels rushed at times, sometimes offering you huge chunks without capital letters, a ton of '....' thrown in there. It feels rushed, in that sense, unpolished, which takes away from the immersion.

The game offers you a bunch of clicking on objects, which could be an interesting mechanic, if not for the fact that it just throws you in without explanation and doesn't give you any direction along the way. It's skippable, most of the time, but that doesn't take away from the feeling that time was wasted.

The models, while certainly not unfamiliar in style, are good-looking and offer something nice to look at.

It's not bad, by any means, but it could've been great.

I am very happy that this game is being continued.
The game has perfect balance between world building and amount of echhi. The story progression is also very good, only problem is the update which is too slow.
Both Mc's G.F. and sister are rendered perfectly.
Those who only enjoy Harem game in which mc gets all the girls without having any personality aspect and always having upper hand ,will certainly be dissatisfied with this game as it is realistic.

Played this EGame a long time ago but forgot to give my review... The idea of the story was quite nice at the beginning but it somehow started to fade away after chapter 3-4 (the writing and dialog were very chaotic and at times bad, i think the dev started to lose interest in this game very fast), not to mention the "choices" in this EGame make little to difference... so a lot of unavoidable events i disliked (this EGame suffers from what i like to call a "kinetic novel syndrome"). Characters are done very nice tbh (specially visually) but all of them lack a bit more "realistic" personality, most were not very believable and some not even bearable. Also the clickfest and mini-games were going from annoying to unnecessary to down right tedious... Jesus Christ why would a dev even waste time on this aspect is beyond me.

Renders look good, but I just couldn't deal with the writing and grammar, double .. in every sentence, a few paragraphs in one piece of displayed text, it was just too annoying to read for me personally.

The game makes choices in relationships for you so if you like choices this one is not for you.

Thers kissing, a couple of hugs and handjobs, and other scenes with no consecuence like dreams, or scenes where Mc doesnt take part.

The good thing about this game is the Mc, it has background and it has motivations. Why would he assault his "family" in her sleep with any previous indication?

I guess thats one symton of why the games is abandoned, as well as having 3 females and 2 sharing hairstyle. A terrible dissapointment

Very nice, hot VN. excellent artwork. sexy characters. well paced. the criminal story development works well to put in some action/thriller elements, without complicating the game mechanism. I love the sex & story blend kept simple, keeps the whole thing interesting and moving along nicely. The supporting characters are introduced in a very simple and easy to digest way, and very sexy as well.

I like that it shows certain girls like it hard, and certain girls like it soft. The story teller shows the kinky female psych quite well.

cons: a bit clicky and slightly over-worded ... but not very much so.

Hope it come back soon. there is still lots to tell for each of the female characters.
