Hi,
I was browsing reddit earlier and came across .
Apparently Fandom will start removing wikis with sex content in them in 2 weeks.
If you own/moderate one and haven't gotten the notice yet it would be a good idea to start planning for migration.

How ironic large corporations keep doing this when they're all ran by a load of fuckwits.

I don't get what the reasoning behind censoring porn is on a larger scale. I mean I understand that investors or payment processors may not like it, but why exactly? It makes them more money, so why do they care where the money comes from as long as it's legal and doesn't harm anyone?
Do they just look at porn and go "ewwwww porn! ban it!" like 10 year olds or what?

I assume it's either that they don't the children using the site to accidentally find naughty wikis or it's a push to appear better to the advertisers. Idk though, it's pure speculation on my part.

I think it's mainly because MasterCard, Visa and Paypal have gone hard against porn lately. Why THEY are doing it I don't really know. Some backwards why to market yourself as being woke and/or puritan? Are they getting bundles of cash by some clandestine parties for some shadowy purpose? Are the governments going after them in some way? From what I know they have never really been especially under fire for processing payments for porn sites, even the more "risqué" ones, and it's not like anyone actually gives a flying fuck what they do as a brand as long as they keep doing their service running adequately.
On the plus site, I suppose it does push more people towards crypto and other more open forms of transitions. Which is pretty nice.

We seem to be at an odd junction where media and social politics is pushing for more acceptance for sex work and flaunting your sexuality and things like that, but at the same time is getting increasingly conservative and puritanical when it comes to people not being allowed to enjoy or consume it. Oh well.

Ugh, fandom really sucks, the new layout they put some months ago is awful.

there's obviously some commercial drive behind it, big corporations don't have any values beyond profit margins. probably it's simply something like family friendly disneyesque content giving them more revenue than porn.
