For me, games with cheats and easy access galleries I play once and have seemingly almost no replay value. No incentives to play, no goals to reach. Ends up feeling like a gallery or Visual Novel. No thanks. I've seen too many games go that route, blow up in popularity for 5 mins and then disappear and get abandoned.
a gallery however is necessary... If i want to see a scene that lasts less than one minute, takes like 15 steps to remember, trial and error, likelyhood of messing up or being spotted in the middle of achieving it, and that i already took over half an hour to get once... most likely I will just say "... nah" and not even open the game ever again because it becomes frustrating.
If it doesn't matter how much I work for a scene, if they take it away I am not 'incentivized' to do the work again, I am, instead, incentivized to wait until someone posts the scenes on some webpage and watch them there and not even wanting to play anymore because why should I?
Doing the stuff once is fun and engaging, and then you get to see the reward anytime you want! having to replay the exact same game twenty times or so is not fun, is exhausting and like a chore. If they want me to incentivize to play over and over the thing is to make the mechanics and game itself fun, not the rewards themselves (when playing Pokemon, for example, I am gonna open the game again because is fun to catch, train and try out new tactics or simply explore... if they made me beat the elite four every time i wanted to access a new route and i had to beat them every time i wanted to revisit an old route too, I would drop the game, because it wouldn't be fun, it would be tedious.)
I am not doing the puzzle in the dinner area ever again, i beat that without using cheats, it took me over 15 tries... I already know what scene it gives out, it's a good scene, I am glad I unlocked it, but it is not worth the headache more than once.
Whenever i used cheats in this game it was always only after I unlocked the scene in the gallery or only using some light cheats to not be forced to re-do stuff a dozen times, also because i like to explore and appreciate or look at the map and movements of stuff, and this game doesn't allow much for that without constant looming threat of when is the animatronic gonna send me back to the menu... For me that was fun and more engaging for replay than the prospect of unlocking the gallery over and over again.
