Ren'Py - Fashion Business [Ep.4 v8.00 Extra] [DecentMonkey]

Great game.
The main advantages: excellent 3D graphics, the presence of a plot, characters with their own characters, a huge amount of work done, a lot of events. There are disadvantages, but this is the case when you simply don’t even want to mention them.

Truly one of my most regrettable waste of time. Game constantly crashes whenever you try and move from one location to the next. The story is abysmal with how slow and ridiculous the pace is set and overall the gameplay shows you exactly how intelligent the dev thinks his players are. Treats you like an absolute monkey who has no choice but to keep sinking time trying to get the next new scene after going through the same no sex routine over and over again.
TLDR: Skip this completely and you will never regret it.

Essentially torture porn with the porn being occasional between pointless busy work. So basically just torture.

Watch a beautiful, bitchy, driven and intelligent woman's life unravel in the most nonsensical way ever. See how she lets everyone take advantage of her now apparent sheer stupidity, in what seems to be a conspiracy to bring her down, seemingly by everyone she's ever known.

Maybe a re-write of sections of EP1 could solve some of my issues with the story but in all honesty, it's just not fun to see Monica being tortured. It feels like I'm watching a special needs person being taken advantage of at every step. Shame as she really is stunning.

First of all, really love the models and renders. Animations are simple loops but pretty nice. Melanie is one of the hottest girls in any game i have seen. Was literally pushing my self to play more, just to see more of her.

That aside, everything else about this game pisses me off. Story is intriguing but poorly executed. Choices imho dont meant anything in this game. But the worst thing is the GAMEplay. It is just tedious and honestly very annoying to play

Ok , I'll be honest , I'm just at episode 1 , and not even finished with it . But some stuff are way too weird and annoying to not comment upon already . If by the end my opinions changes , I'll just amend them

The game is padded with silly actions that are just aggravating and clearly there to add grind and waste time . Who the hell changes clothes , so they could go take a shower , and to change back into the same (supposedly dirty then) clothes ? Before of course changeing again for either PJs or work clothes ?

Why to i have to click again on a character each new sentence , when I'm clearly already in a conversation with them (Steve in his office comes to mind) ?

And some of the "bitchy" vs "Decent" choices are weird ... i know that it's an adult game , so stuff will always be skewed to lead to such content . But some choices are just between being horrible or a complete doormat .
It is much better imo when the "evil/bitchy" choices are actually picked by a player by choice and taste , rather than just wanting to avoid a ridiculously submissive and passive pick .
If you just decided that the main should always be a bitch , don't bother with a gauge and those choices , just focus instead on providing other kind of choices ... such as whom to torment , sleep with and ditch .
As an example i expected to decide on a kinky route with Julia the maid , out of the bat , even if it would not obviously immediately lead to sex (or even at all ) , instead I'm forced to play a prank on a carpet to punish her , for something i know ain't her fault .

Otherwise the concept is interesting , so is the main character . But the main gameplay is just annoying from the start . The clothing store sequence was awful ... You're basically forced to seek for any pixel that light up , in the hope that you can trigger the next scene to finally be able to change the dresses and get out .

I played this game and liked it very much. Also you can relive the same scenes over and over again.
The part I love is when he first enters the prison.
Also the descent of the protagonist's life was structured well.
Good job.

This used to be my absolute favorite AVN out there, but rather than improving over time it's actually becoming more annoying to play. The Female Protagonist is perhaps the hottest model on this website and the sexy scenes are top notch... but the game is a horrible grind to play and you spend FAR too much time changing outfits or trying to find NPC's to increase your stats/money.

The writing isn't as bad as some reviewers seem to make out, it can be funny and entertaining at times, but at some point the willingness of the main protagonist to be be blackmailed becomes absurd. No spoilers, but I remember Monica being extorted by a tiny blonde half her size over basically nothing, and I couldn't help but think that if it were at all in line with way the FP is portrayed that little blonde would have gotten her neck snapped and her body left in the dumpster... instead it's just more of the same.

Don't get me wrong, I love the sex scenes, just make it a little more believable. Great game, but it's getting worse over time and I doubt that'll change.

I don't know why I ignored this game for so long, possiby because of female protagonist tag, but this was one of the best games I ever played

well timed progress, from nudity to more sexual stuff

the blackmail storyline just works so well and is imo perfcectly executed, there is always some twist so it never got boring

renders are also beautiful of course

10/10 would recommend, but bear in my mind that this game requires a lot of time (definitely worth it)

Honestly hands down the best fem protag game i played, Story is okay and little average but the porn and nsfw in it is so fucking good.

Almost all the fetishes i like are in the game so its a great one for me , Decent monkey you are god tier!

One of the best games on this site story and renders/animations wise, furthermore it offers a relatively wide variety of fetishes. Most of the bad reviews come from people who couldn't get through Episode 2. Yeah, in the second episode you have to grind a lot, but if you get through this part of the game the third/fourth episode(s) will make up for the "difficulties".

I'd prefer to give the game a 4 because of how grindy the second episode is, but at the same time I would like to "improve" the average rating (3.5) of the game since it doesn't reflect reality.

This update cycle is so slow for what the game is. And then we lose content with every chapter release.
In short this is a ren'py multiple choice game where the choice is to either see the sex or be a bitch and not see the sex. The girls are fine, the animations are fine, but the sandbox is so limited because we keep losing content that it had. Then you go to explore the new content and there's only a few events to see, many times starting over from scratch at BJ's. That's it. 5 years. As far as ren'py games go this is almost OK, but the loss of content each chapter really just limits it way too far I think.

To me it feels like a manga that started out promising, but then turned into a long haul that you check back on once in a while to see if it will deliver on its promises. [my rating is not based on that]

i like all of the models, writing skills of monkey, animations, poses, dresses YET i dont like the game and boring almost impossible to play gameplay. i heard he is not taking single ideas of players or give a single sht but i ll write it anyway:

imagine playing as a male protagonist in Fashion Business universe with custom name, you dealing with monica aka most hot girl in adult vn world. imagine we playing as a corrupt businessman. i mean with that plot we can have infinite possibilities for good gameplay and story. speaking of good gameplay imagine this game has a choice based linear gameplay you know just like the ALL already succeed games.

With that characters and skills monkey has, its a crime that this game not even in the first 3 of best games of all time but there is a reason. there is a reason badik sitting on the throne instead of FB. Maybe for another title who knows...

One of the vey best AVN's ever created. The renders are absolutely amazing the animations are some of the best I have ever seen. This game is truly top notch after chapter 1. Chapter 1 is clunky and shows all the hallmarks of a new game, not terrible but its a bit of a slog to get through. After chapter 1 this game hits its stride and the writing, renders and animations are insanely good.

The biggest pitfall this game has after Chapter 1 is with the Dev setting expectations for future updates. I was always taught to Under promise and Over deliver, and I feel if they adopted that motto people would be less critical of the release times. Next update "8 months" you deliver in 5 or 6 months everybody loves you. etc

Some of the best writing, you actually care about some of the characters and venomously hate other as it should be. The worst thing a game can do is to be boring and bland and this game is far from either.

Slog through chapter 1 to get a feel for the story but chapter 2 is where things really come together. It is well worth your time to support this game and the devs behind it.

dear god how is the dev so bad at making games... although i have to thank him. since he is so bad it motivates me to make one, because if he can do that then everyone can do that.

he literally removed the standard "skip" function for unseen scenes. why? for what crazy reason did he need to spend time to removing one of the most useful functions in renpy games.

just for that it deserves 0/5.

but it already has bugs. i dont know how he managed to sneak in bugs to the renpy engine, but he is a hidden genius.. if you want to get to menu (normally right click) instead the dialogues disappear... (which should be middle mouse button click)... and if you left click again then you missed out 1 line of text when the dialogue comes back... but wait.. you can instead press right click again. which takes you to the menu.. as it should have originally... but then when you get back you again already missed 1 line of text.

so genius dev managed to completely break the renpy engine good job.

the english is bad.

furthermore it's renpy paired with some click-to-go and explore type of game...worst combination for renpy.

art is good. H-scenes might be good, we will never know, because ppl have to have high levels of masochism to play this bugfest of a game.

Given how large the game is, I expected a lot more.

There's clearly a lot of effort put into it, but its just....ugh.

For one thing, skipping dialogue is turned off. Which is always a negative for me. Common case with these games is the dialogue tends to be poorly written and redundant. Careful skipping can actually make a mediocre game better because you can skip or get the cliff notes of scenes and exchanges that are needlessly padded or simply unnecessary.

And Holy Hell is that needed in this games.

Simply put, at least starting at Chapter1, the writing is atrocious. Imagine the worst, most comically bad porn writing, but now imagine it doesn't come across as tongue in cheek, but rather as if the writer thinks that's how people ACTUALLY talk.

Secondly, there's too much clicking. Here's how the game Starts:
Click the sleeping character. Click through the badly written internal monologue. Click the wardrobe, click the option to get dressed. Click the garment you want to wear. OOPS, you picked the wrong one, click the wardrobe again. Click the option to get dressed. Click the Right clothing option this time. Click the navigation to go to the kitchen. Click the table. Oops. You need to find the maid. Click around the house until you find her. Click her. Click the talk option. Congrats not click to go back upstairs. Click the wardrobe to get dressed. Oops, you need to shower first. Click to go to the bathroom. Click the shower option. Click back to the wardrobe, click the get dressed option. Click the Dress option.


Now you get to click through a side story with the maid and driver.

I have a fondness for blackmail and manipulation, so this should have been a slam dunk scene for me. But the writing. is. so. damn. TERRIBLE.

Not helped by the goofy poses and facial expressions.


I didn't play for long, but the only redeeming quality the game seems to have is the high fidelity renders. The actual posing and scenes are cringe-worthy, and the writing just.. for fucks sake, its bad.

Just... don't. The game needs a redesign and a rewrite to be half worth the time it would take to go through it,.

Writing as of Ep.3 v15

This game started really well, has good character designs and graphics, but having sliced into 3 parts just ruins everything. Starting Chapter 2, it becomes a wardrobe simulator, wear maid clothes to clean, cannot wear maid clothes outside coz you get blocked by Betty (which will be on future updates until now), wear whore clothes to slums and wear dress to work.

There is no real choice here when you go a reasonable and smart responses in Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, it won't affect the future chapters and she's still locked as a whore. In Chapter 3, skipping has inconsistencies like getting banned from the clothing store whereas you can play as you never stole in the first place.

Too many characters are getting introduced and events are branching here and there with the same repeating premise as the event before it and Monica's goal or revenge never getting fulfilled since 2018.

Here's hoping the dev just compresses all of the seasons in one game so the inconsistencies and QOL get addressed and be seamlessly fixed coz this game has a lot of potential.

I liked this game cause there are excellent renders and many many scenes. MC is such a ... that it looks like fun what happens to her. I hope the developer will continue to support the project. The only thing I don like in the game: sandbox system. I think could do without it.

Such wasted potential. Clearly there is a talented artist here, Monica (the MC) looks amazing, backgrounds are great, the premise is hot, animations are good, but I can't bring myself to keep playing to see more.

Episode 1, got up to the end of the jail time where it goes from sexy humiliation to straight torture, complete with a scream so real and jarring that it killed any boner I had at that point. Played episode 2 until I couldn't take anymore of the "man says something that Monica doesn't like, cut to Monica looking like someone just stabbed her child to death, now click through more shots of them making faces"

Sound is pretty terrible all around, the constant record scratches(yes literally) whenever something doesn't go the way Monica expects and ridiculous music (think bluegrass playing in a sex scene); probably better played with sound off altogether.

The majority of male models enter uncanny valley territory with their hideous faces, exaggerated expresions and absurd proportions. And again, you have to click through a ton of close up shots of those faces. Like I'm here to fap, not look at the ugliest creations an artist can create... frankly the most impressive part of this game may be just how diverse yet equally ugly the males are.

One of the best games for blackmail/female protag/forced sex enjoyers. Beautiful girl, superb animations and a lot of content. I always come back to this game when I want to enjoy some good quality renders and animations. Yes, you need to endure first chapter, but it is worth it.

The Good:

Good character art with decent "fleshing out" of each one's personality

Great backgrounds with lots of nice detail

A very fun premise with just enough spin to feel unique.

The Bad:

Mechanics. The Mechanics just kill this game. Takes that can only be done on a Saturday get assigned on a Sunday. Purposeless grind. Simple actions that take WAY too many clicks (wanna go to bed when dressed? Well, click away from the bed to face the dresser, click the dresser to change into PJs with a fade to black, reface the bed, then click the bed. Thats four clicks that could be one.) There just so many things that feel like the dev is trying to pad out playtime. It seriously hurts the flow of the game.

Overall: Decent game, but make sure you have your carpel tunnel supports on.
