Favorite Names for MC

Most games these days let you pick a name? What is your go to name? Self insert?

When I get the option for both first and last names I usually go for Richard Johnson. I just think it's funny, both meaning dick of course.

Most of the time I just role with the default, be if i were to change the name - it depends on the asset that's been used in the game for the MC - older looking dude normally choose eric hahah

I just go with the same name across ever game easier. it's a self insert name only because it feels strange to use names I use online / when I played mmo's but I do not self insert beyond that

If I bother to change from the default at all I'm likely to use Bob, Sid, or Fred. I'll occasionally use my real middle name for games where genders flip around - I have one that only changes by one letter.

I like using my given name to name the MC, but I sometimes name them after other game characters.

If it's a game set in reality then I tend to use my own name unless the MC design screams a name at me. For Sci Fi games I usually go with Cassidy. For fantasy games with magic I tend to pick a demon name like Azmodius or Faust. For games that absolutely don't take themselves seriously I tend to go with something dumb like Daddy or King. You get some pretty funny unintentional dialogue that way lol.

I always enjoy bastardizing whatever the default name is, so Stephen turns into Phteven, Daniel into Cocker Spaniel, Robert into Snobert, and so on.

I tend to do self insert. I find it a good way to immerse myself.
