Seems like it
Frankly speaking, I didn't try to skip in the open world... My bad...
If you want, I can send you a first day open-world save
Why the save?

After the very first scene in the open world (day 1, daytime) with Marin, you gain 2 points and it becomes nighttime and there are no ways to proceed.
The only places available are "home" which you can't interact or do anything with, and talking to Eve who will tell you you can't proceed yet.
Alright, I tried again without CTRL.
Advancing time does work and lets you go to sleep, so that's not a bug.

The bugs are:
- CTRL makes you skip past the open world selection screen if you're holding it down right as you reach that point
- Classroom scene with the teacher loops back in itself, even without CTRL

  • Yay, update!

Also, I think I didn't make the 'Advance Time' button obvious enough.
Where would you place it on the screen?

Well... I’ve fixed it!
Turns out it wasn’t just the classroom scene — all scenes were looping if you skipped through them.
But not anymore

Another one turn into sandbox. Nah,im out of this.
No, my friend, there will be no grinding.

I hate it myself.

When you enter a location at the right time, the scene starts.

So it's not really a sandbox — just a system for playing scenes at a slightly slower pace than at the beginning.

But no farming or anything like that.

I also considered a route-based approach, but when I ran a poll on my Patreon, 86% of people voted for the open world.

Will this fix be available here too?
Hey, my friends!
I've updated the thread and fixed the bugs you found.
Thank you so much for taking a thorough look at the game — I really appreciate it!
Please give it another try and let me know if everything works now!

Alright, just replayed it and the game works just fine now.

0.3.1 review

First of all, I want to praise the speed with which the game has been fixed.
LESS than 24 hours. That's excellent.

Second, my favorite part of your updates is always seeing how you make the feet fit the appearance of the characters, and once again you did not disappoint with Shadowheart. Those juicy soles are exactly how I imagine her feet to look like.
The teacher had nylons on so I couldn't really judge them yet, but I can't wait to see her barefoot.
Fantastic feet scenes all around.

The advance time button is fine where it is, but I would add a quick tutorial (just one line of dialogue) explaining that you need to manually advance time and maybe briefly explain how the open world works, so that those that don't like open world / sandbox games (I'm one of them by the way) have a good idea of what they can or cannot miss <- I think this is the most annoying part of open world games for us. I would avoid missable scenes entirely.

Let's talk more about the elephant in the room: the new open world system.
Your open world / sandbox system is very simple, not grindy, and I didn't find it annoying.
I don't think dropping the game over this is a good choice at all, it's not an intrusive system like most sandbox games out there.

Would I prefer this game if it was linear? Yes, absolutely.
Do I love this game even if it's open world? Yes, the scenes are hot asf.
What's my main concern about the new system? As more and more scenes get added, the open world will get more complex to manage. This will take time and effort away from what really matters: the porn scenes and the feet. I already encountered another issue where the last Shadowheart scene (or second to last, I don't remember) and the teacher scene at her house repeat themselves if you click on them like you've never seen them before, instead of showing the static background letting you know you've "cleared" the area. This lack in consistency does bring the feeling of high quality of the game down. With visual novels, it's much easier to create a feeling of an high quality game: you simply need good dialogue and good visuals. Open world games are far more complex, and they are not a solo dev endeavor imo. I know your Patreons voted open world, but you need to remember most people have no idea about game development; they just know open world is trendy and voted on it, without understanding what making an open world game as a solo developer truly means.

I would advise to redo the poll, both on Patreon and on here, and this time put these options:

1. Visual Novel, quicker updates and no bugs
2. Open World / Sandbox, slower updates and higher chance of bugs

If people still vote Open World / Sandbox, then they really want it and you know all the extra effort isn't wasted. Otherwise, it just means they didn't realize the downsides and you can go back to working on the game with less headaches.

At first, thank you very much for such a detailed comment, my friend!
It really means a lot to me!

That's a great idea! I'll definitely add a simple tutorial for that.

To be honest, I initially wanted those scenes to be replayable so the player could return to the teacher's house at night.
But after I added the Gallery, that purpose kind of disappeared.
So yeah, I think I’ll remove the replayable scenes in the next update.

What's my main concern about the new system? As more and more scenes get added, the open world will get more complex to manage.

Yeah, that’s true.
But I found the route-based approach to be much more difficult to implement — too many variables and a lot of unnecessary code.
The open-world system, on the other hand, was very time-consuming at the start, but now it's actually pretty easy to expand.
That said, I still haven’t fully made up my mind about the future of the game.

On one hand, I want to tell a strong foot-fetish story with some dark lore behind the scenes.
On the other hand, I want the player to feel free and powerful.

So I’m just trying to find the right balance right now.
I think I’ll eventually get there — especially with your help and advice!;)

Note: When I say visual novel I'm not talking about a route-based approach, that's just as complex if not more complex than the sandbox system you have right now. I mean a linear story like the first two updates.

Got it!
I think I’ll alternate them.

Currently, I’m working on a new animation system.
I want to animate scenes better than it’s done now (in Photoshop).
So I’m testing some paid resources to improve the quality :p

What do you use to make the AI renders?
I don't have the time nor patience to make a game but I might create some images for 'personal use'.

I create images using Stable Diffusion WebUI Forge with a lot of LoRAs and custom styles. (Semi-Realistic Pony and AutismMix Pony for different characters)

Then, as Omega Games suggested, I tried using Spine 2D to animate them.
It’s a really cool framework — until I realized that the free version doesn’t allow saving animations, except by screen-recording them with OBS and converting to GIFs.
Also it's really hard to do with good quality
So my pipeline became much harder to work with.

Now I’ve rented a RunPod for WAN 2.1 and ComfyUI, and I’m experimenting with animating the images I generate in Stable Diffusion.

It’s not perfect, of course — but the animations feel much more realistic and lifelike.
That said, the quality drops in some frames, and consistency is still a big issue.
So I’m torn…

Should I go with smoother, more consistent animations that feel less “alive”?
Or more realistic and expressive ones with good moving and facial expressions but minor inconsistencies?
