Can you even imagine how hard it is to write a couple paragraphs out about how you definitely spent like 140 hours last week polishing another .3 of a scene?
And honestly, given how crazy good the writing quality always is, we should probably be judging by George R.R. Martin standards. Looking at things through that lens, we should be happy to get an update at some point within the next 7 years.
Yeah, to make a slightly different excuse every week for two years and going, and keep your story coherent, must be exhausting after a while. I tend to assume Crush kind of shot himself in the foot when he started the 'transparency report' charade. Things were simpler for him when he just went on radio silence for months on end.
