There are a ton of games (interestingly many of them fem protag games) who have attracted a big following and a respectable donation per month amount that suddenly stalled in development. Redone artworks, redone animations, redown game mechanics, story rewrites, sound added for old scenes. Their changelogs for each version are always very long but somehow the game barely changes nor advances. And suddenly the game has been in development for 10 years or been abandoned after siphoning way too much money for way too long for way too little progress.Without having spoken to Crush either, it seems to me it might be a combination of being both unable and unwilling to finish the game. He could hire help to finish the game - but then he likely won't be able to progress as far with a new game project, and that must be quite a concerning prospect for him. It's easier to stall for time and drag the development of this game out for as long as possible.
The amount of good games that were actually completed is very low.
