I've wondered this for awhile, all the way back when 'facepalms' were still a thing:
Why do so many users go around attaching the angry face to new projects/games when they're initially released? That's such a slap to the face for the devs. I personally would be embarrassed at myself if I surfed through this site attaching angry faces to every game tagged 'maledom' or 'netorare' even though I greatly dislike the genres. I understand that those games weren't made for me, plain and simple. I don't see the need to spit in the dev's face.
I once saw someone trying to justify it as "just them expressing their opinion", but that doesn't really seem to fit. Again, going back to putting myself in a comparable situation, if I'm browsing a game and I notice tags or kinks that are a real turn off, I just click off. I don't feel the need to try and drag the dev down, their game looks fine enough, just not genre(s) I'm interested in.
Only bringing this up because I see it so frequently in this space, and the mindset just baffles me. If you have criticism for a game past the tags/genres, leave a review or a comment, something constructive that the dev can work with. I don't know, maybe I'm just rambling.
