It's a nightmare for the company to decide. Worst case, depending on the training set, they'll have the AI start speaking the unspeakable. I don't trust that, unless manually moderated (either the training data or the output), the AI won't spew stuff that could be interpreted as "hate speech" or whatever. One public outcry followed by a lawsuit is not a good business strategy.

I don't know much about AI and all that, but is there really any chance of that happening? each person that clicks on the AI gets a basic template and then, each session you can reset the AI so it doesn't really do anything out of character unless you take the time to train it too, and having an adult switch would pretty much eliminate that no?
and anyone who is using the adult switch I doubt would complain about anything an AI says, because well, they're most likely saying some pretty weird stuff to the AI and would be pretty embarrassed to have it monitored or moderated.

for me the nsfw hasn't been a problem because I most enjoy teaching it to sit on my face, smother me, suffocate me, tie me up, slap me around and all of that wholesome sfw stuff

the issue I have had is its memory, it feels so...random I could have chats where it seems to remember for quite awhile and then other time it completely forgets after a few sentences

It's as much female submission as it is domination then. Why solely naming it after 50% of it's content, while ignoring the other half? Lezdom is a way better fitting term in those cases.

You can feed your private AI with previous info, alas it's a bit difficult to RP longer scenarios... Even so the AI sometimes is able to bypass the filter and can get pretty stubborn on some scenarios mind you that

"ml" indicates that its an machinelearnig notification. They are well known for alot of falsepositive.
Im not saying it is or isnt a trojan. Just wanna let all of you know, that in these cases it is good to look deeper into it and check with other (multiple) ways as well.

The stubbornness you referenced with respect to characterai is believed to be directly linked to the filter they have imposed. When the filter has been disabled people have experienced the ai being fast and intelligent very creative in its responses, but when certain words or topics or parameters are reached with the filter the bots seem to get steered in predictable defensive places and to loop frequently and be nearly impossible to converse with. This is on top of the outright "chat errors" when they are completely censored. This is a big part of what set off the current chaos among users expressing themselves on discord and reddit. Its not just that it wont allow porn, its that it seriously degrades the entire conversation in all sorts of areas. Thats the theory anyway and it seems to mesh closely with my experience and those of enough users to put their entire program in apparent jeopardy. They certainly haven't helped themselves by being almost completely nonresponsive and choosing to hide and ban any voices of criticism rather than answering questions and addressing issues.

I can make my own AI dirty and corrupted, but thats not as fun as corrupting other innocent AIs <_<

Often times talking to the bot feels pretty slow, and then have made some horrible changes because 'server lag/overuse' ect whatever they said

Honestly the bot felt much better when I first tried the site and I was using it everyday, now its like meh
The bot forgets things after 3-4 messages, sometimes he completely ignores my previous message or completely contradicts what it said previously, or repeats the same message over and over

One prominent theory is that the reason something like that hasn't happened is because the filter IS the product that they are collecting data on and perfecting. They aren't interested primarily in selling their AI, they may be more interested in developing a porn proof filter. This would explain their horrible PR... the users aren't potential customers they are mules for data mining...
