Not looking good -

First release date passed without an update until 2-weeks after
Revised release date has passed by nearly a week, so far no update and no response on Patreon

It's alright that things are delayed, but the lack of communication from the get-go is highly concerning, usually this level of de-evolved comms comes far far later in the project.

*The bad:*

First off, I want to apologize to everyone waiting to check out this project. I missed the deadline, and the stress has affected not only my work on the game but also my regular job. Everyone needs to sleep at night, right?

I need a bit more time—until Sunday, to be precise. If the alpha isn't released by then, consider me dead.

Yeah, I know, third time’s the charm... I'm a complete newbie when it comes to game development. While I have some skills, this is my first time using them all together. And as a newbie, I've fallen into some typical pitfalls:

1. Assuming tasks you haven't done before will take a certain amount of time. They might, but what if something doesn't work correctly? What if you spot weird tearing or clipping in your renders? How does the scene feel once you put it together? It might be better in your head. All these things take time—unfortunately, way more than I initially thought.

2. Giving hard release dates. While setting deadlines is important, it only leads to unhealthy amounts of stress when those deadlines are unrealistic.

3. Stopping communication because of said stress. Thinking, "If I only crunch harder, I'll release it tomorrow, so no need to waste time on communication." Then you don’t, and patrons start to question things—rightfully so.

*The ugly:*

It feels really short. I won't be able to "glue" all the content I made and wanted to put together before the first release. So, I'll start with Day 1 and move Day 2 to another month. I'd suggest waiting until Day 2, but if you don’t want to wait and want to see if the game has potential, go ahead and play the first version. It won’t be the complete intro I've envisioned, but at least you'll get a feel for the project.

*The good?*

I talked to a more experienced dev, who was an inspiration for me to start building something I'd like to play, and I won't abandon the project even if the initial release isn’t as warmly welcomed as I hope. I'll treat any failure as a building block to improve in the future.

I think I've learned my lessons, so here’s how I plan to improve from this point forward:

1. No hard dates. While it would be cool to say I'll release an update every month or so, it’s not viable for me. I have a regular job that often requires overtime, so I have to prioritize: Work > Relationship > Game (which takes up about 90% of my free time).

2. Regular weekly updates. From now on, every Sunday I’ll post a small progress report, preview, and/or poll to keep you guys informed, give a rough estimate on how close to release things are, and take suggestions. Now that I have experience with how long the complete cycle can take, the information I provide will be more accurate than before.

3. Investing in a more powerful graphics card. A better graphics card means more renders in the same amount of work hours.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding. Your support means the world to me. I'm committed to making this project the best it can be, and I hope you'll stick around to see it grow. Stay tuned for regular updates, and let’s make this journey together!

Now, back to work!

*P.S.* Due to my fragile mental state, I won't be responding until Sunday, sorry.

Yes, it's in alpha version 0.1. The public release should be sometime this week, or at the latest, next Monday or Tuesday.
I played 0.1 and here is my feedback (not sure if this is the right place to put it, but you don't have a discord):

The first thing to say is that the renders are of exceptional quality, as is the user interface, I also quite liked the opening scene.

0.1 was by your own admission quite short, so it's really difficult to gauge what this game is going to be about.

I was hoping for something that felt like My Emily or even a continuation of and I think that was a mistake on my part, as it's clear you had begun to backtrack on the origins of this thread fairly early on and therefore, I don't think I have any right to be disappointed.

For those who have been watching this thread eagerly wanting the same thing, here are my thoughts on why it doesn't feel like it's part of that universe:

1) My Emily was a very intimement game about a couple discovering the femdom kink. This game is about an mc in world of inherently dominant women.
2) My Emily was fictional but it felt like it was relatable to the real world, this feels like a highly fictional world. The best way to describe it would be that this feels more like a Karlssons Gambit or a Vicious Circle than it does My Emily.
3) My Emily was about uncovering the submissive tendencies of the mc and the dominant characteristics of Emily, whereas

Detaching from what I wanted the game to be, this looks like it will make a nice femdom game.

Thank you, for your valuable feedback Badger. I think you summed it up almost perfectly.

100% but as I mentioned before, I wanted the title to only vaguely connect to the Basiums title.
I didn't want to invest countless hours into a game that could be:
1) A direct competitor to a serious_quest attempt to remake the title.
2) A continuation of a game whose author I didn't get a chance to talk to and get his green light—it didn't feel right.
3) Something that I feel like I'm forced to mimic at all costs.

While the plot will eventually focus on the main character's relationship with his girl in the same dominant/submissive dynamic, the overall feeling will surely be vastly different from the My Emilly. So, all in all, it's best to treat it as a separate title. Sorry if that will disappoint anyone.

What gave you that impression, Badger?

But is it really the place it seems to be at first glance? ;)

Thank you, honeybadger6969. Your kind words mean an awful lot to me, as this is my first project, so any form of encouragement is more than welcome.

I played the demo and I'm very pleased with both the game's tone and art direction. I would have appreciated more content, but the game is already really promising. What we get to see in the demo is fun, exciting (I love erotic and humiliating situations that are not downright pornographic), and interesting. The plot promises a lot of intense and surprising shanneningans too.

What I would try to improve on:

- A little more context at the beginning (in form of a few slides and text) would help new players understand the relationship with the MC and Kate, his personality and his expectations. I'm not against slowly learning about the MC's situation and arrangements - I enjoy getting surprised along the way with unfolding plots -, but I can't fully roleplay the MC if I don't know much about my goals and struggles. Ie. why am I avoiding getting horny? Do I want to work there or get along with those men?

- The intro with Kelly does a good enough job at showing players what sort of content and even paths they will find in this game. But I would like to know and see if my initial choices carry any sort of weight. I'm absolutely fine when some choices simply change the flavor or text of a scene, but an intro is precisely the place where the fourth wall can be broken so players learn how this game is played. My recommendation would be to use the intro to explain how the "well-being" and "horny" meters work and a little of how choices do or do not affect the story.

- The interface needs a little more work. Rolling-back breaks the text speed configuration (I turned text speed to immediate, but each time I use roll-back it goes back to default speed); the text-box is a bit too large and opaque, making it difficult to fully appreciate the images without hiding it each time; the text-box sometimes flickers when clicking to advance and next frame has no text; some transitions are cut short (the most noticeable example is checking the last spicy photo before the demo ends, it transitions away without user input).

- There are a few small typos here and there (ie. 'allone' instead of 'alone'); and I personally dislike that when one character's speach takes up more than one text box, the first letter of the second part of the text is not always capitalized.

Other than that, all that I can say is that I really, really look forward seeing new updates. Keep it up!

Overally a good start.
I really liked the intro where the MC gets humiliated by the sis in law. All the having to call himself peasant while her family were all royalty was super hot.
The three paths being Sissy, cuck or slave are told well and give a little bit of foreshadowing of what is to come.
The renders of the charachters are great with Candy especially looking fine.

I like how dismissive and strict but also fairly understanding the MIL charachter is. The fact she doesn't let the MC sit down was a slight power move.

I am intrigued with the sissy but think that the Cuck and Slave route are more interesting. With the slave route being the one I am probably the most looking forward to.
The MC seems like a generally good guy overall, just being a bit of a pushover. Therefore I would like him to be try even harder for his fiancee.
With the cuck route, I think him feeling inadequate and therefore thinking its fine for other alpha men to sleep with his fiancee makes sense.
But with the slave route, I would really like it if the MC constantly tries to be better for his fiancee, being more and more one sidedly caring and simpy. Sacrificing his own pleasure and free time to give his fiancee the life she deserves(all while she gives him little in return).

Maybe the therapist will drive more deeply into these thoughts and drive the MC down his path.

One slight issue is the Text speed resets often. I dunno whats causing this but its annoying for going through the dialogue.

I found a few typos and the name of your fiance and her mom are wrong in the stats-menu (mom got the name of your fiance)

One minor personal critic/opinion is the textbox that has always an empty textbox before the next image/animation. Is that realy needed?

Besides that, its a realy good first release! If that is realy your first game ever, then call me impressed.
I am looking forward for the future of this and wish you a good luck with it!

Congrats on your game release! Everything looks fantastic so far – the renders, characters, writing, and plot are all on point. I especially loved the design of the MC's sis-in-law. Hope you'll add more content with her as a side character.

Looking forward to the next update and hoping more people will support you so you can get a new GPU. 48 hours to render an animation is just crazy lol
