VN Feral City [Development Thread]

FERAL CITY is a game in development by our team, where we'll try to accomplish a Dating Sim VN with a focus on transformation and growth of characters as you get to know them more and deepen your relationship with them.

Right now, we have another game, Beast Control, which uses AI as a means to gather funding on our Patreon so we can fund this 2nd game.
A game without any use of AI, where the team's creative vision will be fully realized by human work.
Our team is right now made of up three people.

And I decided to make this thread, so I can post updates about this new world lore, characters, and more, without having to spam it on Beast Control's Thread.


Premise

Welcome to Feral City, where regular humans, superpowered capes and beast-people(known as strays) coexist in a colorful mix.

In this Dating Sim, play as Feral, a street-level, independent hero (also known as cape), with the power of animal shapeshifting, who recently discovered he can change the shapes of others as well!

Follow him as he walks the streets of the city he named himself after, getting to know (and getting into trouble with) both new people and old friends. Who knows, perhaps you may even help them find their true selves and embrace their feral side!


The World and City of Feral City

Feral City will be the main focus and place of the game, where decades ago, it was the birthplace of The Incident, where stuff happened, sorry, for now, we plan to slowly show more of the world, it's lore, it's characters and setting through interactions on our FCFL, Feral City Fan Letters, more at the bottom.


Characters

We've been developing with our artist a unique and expressive artstyle for the game, we had announced some characters before (And their lore haven't changed), but we now are remaking their designs and artstyle for a new one.
Here is our first look at it! Blackbird!

We've also been open to questions! In an almost "Ask the Character", but for our two main protagonists, Feral! (Which you'll play as), and Blackbird!

We don't have visual examples.
But the plan is for each character to have 3 Stages.
A fully human one, which is the starting one.
A halfway one, which is animal ears/tails/parts.
And a fully furry one.

The plan is for each stage to feel complete, and fully used, on our current game, Beast Control, we have a similar scheme, and we had a lot of feedback saying "I wished more scenes in the 1st stage!" or "I wanted more of the 2nd stage!", so we plan to really take advantage of each TF stage.

Ok! Let's go in parts.

Yes, one of the characters will even be involved in the Lizard Yakuza!
.... More on the Lizard Yakuza on the future.
And birds forms will also exist, which is something we always ran into problems on Beast Control.

Actually, it's inspired by everything, not DC based, we've only shown Blackbird and a little of Feral, but a lot of the other characters will be OC's with inspirations on many characters, Sam, another character, is kind of inspired by Captain America and Winter Soldier.
And even if Blackbird is inspired by Raven from DC, her character is different, with a mix of a lot of other inspirations to make her more unique and stand out.
Even Feral, his inspiration for the start is well, Beast Boy, but we kind of changed a lot of his character to be more unique.

We still have that question saved for FCFL! Sadly, FCFL will take a short break while we update the art and more.
But we already have it written, and will be posted in the future.

I'm proud and happy to announce that our team is now a quartet!

Now introducing Nashi to our team!
She'll be our 2nd artist working on Feral City, so production on it is really full steam ahead.
And you can see already part of her work with finally, a logo for the game!
And that really nice drawing of our dev team, with a nice little reference thrown there.

Glad you enjoyed them!
There will be a cow route for one of the characters, I think there would be actual death threats if I didn't add a cow route.
Not sure for pig, or breast expansion/body growth stuff, but we want to have a lot of different body types and different fetishes for the game.


Our plans right now is to have one TF/Animal Route per Character, any more and it would be insane work.
And if the game does well, we might add more characters in the future or more TF/Routes.
But, we're balancing the chosen TF's and Animals to have a wide range of fetishes and tastes.
