It looks interesting and like the devs are aiming for a high quality game. However, as far as the demo is concerned I would have appreciated more of a glimpse into the actual story and less philosophy and systems tutorial. Good luck to the devs.

Exactly my thoughts.
Developing a VN as an amateur is hard and time-consuming enough with just 1 main character.
Going for 2 is like buying half the tickets for an "Abandoned game" raffle.

We totally understand your worries, but we will work hard towards making our idea come true ^^

Why do devs go out their way to try andreinvent the wheel while at the same time pissing off the very people they want to market to. Just use the normal damn save system, it works perfectly fine. Screen shake has been annoying since the godamn dawn of VN time too. It's no better here.

Also, I've barely started...and oh looksy here...single...fucking....choice....options...This seems appropriate here: https://f95zone.to/threads/my-parents-case-v0-1-25-1a-giandalf-the-tall.237830/post-16078348 (and then a godamn tutorial after it's already started)....then we pick novel mode and are forced to do dumb 'game' shit anyway *sighs*

Thanks for your honest review. As it's stated in the demo, the save system is not finished yet and the novel mode is identical to the game mode, it's just not time bound or skill based! The default Ren'Py system isn't perfect for us either: the navigation for those with hundreds of saves is tedious, and saving and loading screens are identical, which is highly confusing. Single choice menus were also a stylistic thing specifically for the demo. We're sorry to have pissed you off, but we hope you like the finished product in our future 0.1 release

Thank you The concept of vanilla is very subjective, but our game definitely won't fit into any category of "dark genre".

There are many planned animated scenes for the future ^_^ We will do our best to include some in the 0.1 version, although it will depend on how much time and resources we have before the end of this year.
