Honestly it's a really fun game, the artstyle and mechanics are not for everyone that's for sure but I like it.
Now let's go over some of the good and bad
Great Art: Art looks fantastic with unique character designs, style is highly subjective however. I love the different character designs personally.
Decent Animations: Animations aren't top quality or anything but still pretty nice. there's gore but it's non-sexual.
Hard Controls: Janky controls that are hard to get used to. This adds an extra difficulty barrier- enjoyable to some(me) but unbearable to others.
Okayish Combat: Standard fights are mechanically simple. Lots of unique enemies, and a fun spell system though, some of the spells feel satisfying to use.
Enjoyable Bossfights: Each bossfight is unique and provides opportunities to perform strings and combos(kinda), and feels much more engaging than the standard combat. Difficult but enjoyable. Bossfights are replayable after a certain point in progression
Frustrating Navigation: I think it's intentional that the map is hard to navigate but lord does it get frustrating, extremely easy to get lost. You can either draw your own map or use the one from this thread. I couldn't reach the final fight without having to check the map.
Vast Content: There's a good chunk of enemy types, staffs, spells, and animations. The map itself is decently big with different areas having unique environment design. There's some parkour, puzzles and hidden collectibles like staffs, spells or stat bonus.
Mid Story: Story is pretty simple and linear, nothing interesting.Downgrade from their previous work. The plot itself is also not that special.
Bug Free: Didn't encounter any bugs.
Stretchable Playtime: If you play it blind without any help then you can play this game over the course of a few months- play a few hours>get stuck>quit>feel like completing it>continue again>repeat
Okay Audio Design: Not bad but nothing to write home about
Challenging Difficulty: Highly subjective, some will enjoy the suffering this game offers, others will hate that the difficulty is inflated by clunkiness. Checkpoints are your best friend but they are far apart and you never know where the next one is (you can hear wind noises if checkpoint is in an adjacent section). I think metroidvanias like this one should be hard.
Bad Gallery Mode: Not Awful but it could be much better.
Overall Clunky Feeling: Sorry for mentioning multiple times but the game really is clunky, it's the exact opposite of fluid gameplay. Every few steps you take you need to pause and use zoom out to see where to fucking jump, like misin could have easily made the platforms at a visible distance but they make you rely on the zoom out feature which feels so jarring because you just need to pause your entire flow. Even if you are skilled you can't have smooth progression.
Troublesome Resolution: Fullscreen is too pixelated, 1.00x is clean but too small. I struggled to find the sweetspot, could have had some Anti-Aliasing implementation or something (idk) but it's not the end of the world.
PS: Use receptive mode when you just wanna enjoy the view without dying.
If you are lazy and don't wanna put up with the hardships just use the gallery unlock mode, it's built into the game.
CUSTOMISE YOUR KEYBINDS- trust me it will make life so much easier
I am rating 5★ despite the prevalent cons because that's how I feel about it compared to other H-games I have played.
I know this game isn't that popular and very few people will bother reading this but I tried making it detailed, hope you found it helpful.
