From the sounds of it they have been working on it in the background but mostly focusing on their commissions. There is supposedly an update coming eventually, I don't know how big or if it will even drop before the new year.

Gotcha, just seems like a waste of a good concept to just be put on the backburner for so long for some commissions

The art is just the thing I like - extra thicc mommies, too bad there's so little, plus finishing night 5 with anyone throws you back to the main menu.

I do wonder how much more finished stuff we could be seeing if, instead of doing full fucking picture redraws with every little facial expressions, the dev was smart and asked artists to draw like 2-3 body poses and 6 facial expressions. A good example is how \game\images\sprites\Roxy\roxy 21_.png, which consists of 21 full copies of a 1927x2160 png, could've been just the body + head (it never changes), cheek blush effect, 2x tail, 5x faces. Two other examples have fully finished colors are roxy 24 and 38, and both also have pose that's still just the lineart - I also bring attention to this because some of those poses have slight corrections here and there, like thi

It always amazes me how layering a picture on top of another seems to be some sort of unfathomable, forbidden secret beyond the understanding of VN creators of the last 10 years, despite this technique being used in games since the late fucking 1980s. Go figure.

I honestly don't know but the creator needs to get their butt in gear and either put some actual work into this game or hand it over to someone who will, simple as that.

A lot of people dont pay attention to this when finding new games. Kinda to be expected when people can't be bothered to read a post above their own before asking the same question already answered a hundred times. Some people just want to make a game on the side and still maintain their normal career, in which case I can't be mad about slow development if content is still being pumped out.

What is even the logic behind this? From what I'm interpreting you just said that someone can't make a game for fun? Isolated never stated that the game was their main focus and that should have been pretty obvious due to the fact they make art for money. Isolated never had an obligation to continue updating the game. It would be an entirely different story if the game was what Isolated was doing to make money though.

If you like their art more than the game, you should be happy they're doing more art than their game. I've seen plenty of artists over the years drop art for making games and then you get no content at all because making games is a LOT of work. Or its overly simple and the "game" part doesn't even matter, and then its a waste of time just to get to the art, in which case... If you like their art more than the game, you should be happy they're doing more art than their game.

I do agree that I wouldn't call it a "passion project" though, it's more of just a side project. Although he's not milking it because it's not the selling point of his patreon or his career, and I'm fine with that personally. I would call out a project like kincaid or wild life that has been in development hell for years. Both make good content but comes out so slow and no content on the side so it's purely just the game you're waiting for and getting nothing else outside the project. That's the true hell when you see what you like but you know you're not getting anything else to tide you over.
