:KEK: If by close you mean every single glyph is different then sure. Well, he's not recreating the logo so it doesn't need to be exact and it is a similar style...

Again, you're applying the standards of official fonts to a man-made object that is not a font. I just showed that you could match it pretty well using a standard font. And add effects in an editor like PS. That way, you can create hundreds of buttons, dialogue, whatever.. in minutes. All in the same style.

Regardless, it's been my experience that no matter how much time you spend trying to perfect the fonts in these projects, you will still get a large group of people complaining about them. Everyone has different ideas of style. Everyone has different vision abilities. Some play on PC while others always use mobile devices.

By far, the best compromise is to give people the option to change things as much as possible... like font size scripts, being able to change the textbox opacity, adding or removing outlines... etc, etc

 Frankfurter is a caps only font. At least the original doesn't have any lowercase glyphs.

Anyway, cheers.
lol - i remembered that and was sneaking the allcaps change in the earlier post right before your comment just now :D

Welp, you do you...

It might be worthwhile to be aware that business signs are usually one-off custom things and not made to some sort of official font, so your quest to find the exact match will probably be pretty fruitless.

In any case, good luck on finding the right one.
I believe you misunderstood what the font is for. This was never about recreating the sign - the photo was just an example of what I was looking for for the font

I'm aware of that. It just seems that you are - to use the metaphor - not seeing the forest through the trees. Because you are seriously digging deep to find flaws in the fonts when you need to (IMO) run some tests and do more then just fixate on a small sample size. Especially when the actual fonts used in your UI really don't matter to most players, as long as they are readable. It's the fonts you use for the story dialogue and narrative that matter. When you start getting 100K+ words, ease of reading is very important.

I've already decided that on my next project, I'll be putting as much font customization features in as I am able. I am constantly tweaking my current mid-life projects and still haven't hit a perfect balance.

So many assumptions. This is not about a novel, this is about the basics of UI design and readability, as well as how a font works with the other UI elements one uses and the overall theme of the programme.

Well perhaps if you do not want input that makes assumptions, then you should be more descriptive in your OP. Saying it's just for UI elements would be worth knowing, do you not think? Reading minds is not a talent I have much skill at.

Anyhow, I tried to help. Like I said... you do you. As for your novel comment, I am really curious what sort of game/VN you are making that has no dialogue. :ROFLMAO:

(Maybe the dialogue font should match or compliment the UI fonts? ... ya think?)

The type of game/programme has nothing to do with the question. I was looking for a specific font that matches or comes near the example I provided. I thanked for your help , so I am not sure why you are butt-hurt all the sudden, as if your input wasnt valued.

You assumed some novel shit without any reason to make such assumption, you assumed it was about creating a copy of the example photo - both of them did not relate to anything I asked. I know what I am asking for and phrased accordingly . It is called abstraction.

You know it's usually better to ask for help with some humility right? Being a prick to the people who took time to try and help you just makes them ignore you in the future.

I knew what you want. I showed you a font that matches the example you posted (with a few small exceptions). If you don't like that font, then fine... just say so. But trying to gaslight people with shit like "... as the upper part condenses more into a smaller area than the bottom." makes no fucking sense. It's like you are using Chat GPT to try and make it sound like you know what the fuck you are talking about. And I never once said novel. I said dialogue. Something that needs to be considered when designing your UI elements.

In case you think I am just throwing this shit out there, think again. I have a degree in Industrial Design, which has a large module for Corporate Identity. Look it up, if you don't know what corporate identity entails. It's all about design elements, including fonts.

I did that long ago, when I thought I would make that my career, but instead I went into a technical engineering field instead. I kept up in the field though and I have designed several websites over the years (Graphics, UI, layout etc.) and now for two years I have been making two projects in Ren'py and I tried to share some that experience with you, as it relates to the use of fonts.

So... fine. You're not interested in hearing practical examples gained from experience.

Go do whatever the hell you want.

I asked and dont take nicely to accusations that have no base.

Nobody but you felt treated wrongly obviously, despite thanking everyone for their input. For some weird reason you insist in 'knowing better' without even considering that your assumption has nothing to do with any of it. I took the part that was related to my question and simply pointed out that the rest was an assumption. You are part of 'everyone' I thanked and yet you still feel treated badly for some reason. I dont have to flex my capabilities to make a point nor did the others had to. So if you thought I would be impressed - I am not. So feel free to ignore me, but dont act like anyone did you wrong.

I do hope you plan on paying for the license on the Frankfurter font. Typeface designers have and will come after you (and financially rape you) if there's any doubt you pirated their work or are using it without a properly acquired license.

It generally why most tend to stick with 100% Free/PD fonts. Less hassle, less money, and usually looks just fine.

No worries. As I mentioned already in my OP, even if I would prefer a costfree solution, I am not excluding anything just because of costs.

P.S. It is funny that you bring that up with the Frankfurter though, as the

 I dont think I can go for the Frankfurter after all. Just found out that this

uses the Frankfurter and I dont want my project to be related to unhealthiness or MAGA boycotts. :D
