The new Remake releases a new build each month, a bunch of content from the Original version still needs to be migrated to it.
You can find the Old Builds for the Original in the original post in the "Old Builds" section.

Ok what you need to do is download the 2 files from Zell's latest Fanbox post or here in case the thread was updated.
Once you have them you must unpack both.
Make absolutely sure you rename part 2 before you unpack because the resulting file may look identical.
Then run part 1 and that should be it.

guys can someone explain to me if the download on the main thread is correct? It says demo 3_30 v2.7 (so its not full version?). Also you all guys seems to talk about 2 parts of the game. Pls help Im lost there

The version on the main page is currently the most recent version, which is a remake of the original (aptly called Forest of the Blue Skin R) that's in its early stages. 3_30 signifies that it was released March 30th. The main page should also have the old version of FOBS, which was made on an engine that had a heavy restriction on how big the game could be, whereas R no longer has that issue. That old version is split into an A and B version for that exact reason, like how there were two separate discs you needed to play Blue Dragon back in the day.

I always call them by the count of months since the first FOBS R download came out (which was 11 months ago so at the end of the month it's gonna be a year!)
For some reason the downloads from Zell are always split apart.
I think it's because of national rules/laws/regulations on adult and NSFW stuff but don't quote me on it.
But since A and B aren't updated no longer the thread provides a full download.
But for R you need to download both parts; we can all agree it sucks but it can't be helped...
If you support Zell on FANBOX just follow my instructions and everything should be fine or wait until someone merges it for you and just download that.

It's not a curse, it's an old-ass engine. The version you're trying to download is literally the most decrepit that decrepit can be. You have to fuck around with it a bit. The past few versions of FOBS R have had zero issues outside of a DLL issue that happens specifically with PixelGameMaker (PGM) games and C++, and it only ever happens to people who've never played a PGM game before.
Also, now that I'm typing this, I realize that you may very well have just misunderstood what you need 2 files for and no one has pointed it out. The newest version of FOBS R (the one that's directly under Download) only needs ONE file. It was never an issue with law based on what I can tell, it's a packaging issue that Zell has since fixed. The only version that still needs two files that isn't an older build of R is the original, which you can find in the old builds spoiler.
Please tell me if you have any more questions, I can tell you want to genuinely play the game, and I don't want to see your efforts wasted because of a massive misunderstanding. (In advance, sorry for the possible abrasiveness of the first paragraph, you can probably see how my line of thinking changed in the process of writing this.)

Haven't played FoBS since the video dev log series got axed from Pornhub, so I got exited when I heard it was here on F95. First thing I noticed was the libcoco2d.dll and websocket.dll. Instantly I was filled with the dread that yet another developer fell for the webkit meme. Opening the game confirmed my worst fear.
Yep. Lag. Especially in the pause menu. And doing a search I can see I'm not the only one. Why?! My first thought was an uncapped fps, so my response is to try mangohud to figure out what's happening but it turns our the player is mistaken for explorer.exe which is on a hard coded blacklist. So my next plan involves busting out htop and checking the cpu usage. It's at around 50% normally (pretty high), peaks at 60% during scenes (ugh), and maxes out when opening the pause menu or switching between tabs in the pause menu (kill me!).
At least the actual game is still playable and the events are pretty neat. It's nice I can still play the old versions I fell in love with. I just wish the remake used literally anything but a web based framework.
