What the heck, super weird
It's probably because they're still coded as Forest Dwellers, just inactive ones. Assumably, most enemies become inactive when you're in an H-scene, and reactivate when you exit out of one. So if they're coded as inactive and you go through the door as the animation for you exiting an H-scene is happening, they reactivate even though they're not supposed to be able to do that.

While labbing for a while to figure out Mush and the Forest Dweller, I accidentally discovered this. Apparently all of the hints ARE coded into the game, just not readily available. I think they unlock either as you capture enemies or after you conventionally defeat them. I'm not sure, because this is not what I was looking for at all-

Edit: I also think that the 2nd Forest Dweller achievement isn't implemented yet, since it doesn't even have a clear condition yet. The achievement for Kappa is still bugged, as I DID capture one, just didn't get the achievement. (It has the wrong picture anyway, so that's probably why.) The Harpy is likely not capturable yet since there's no hit whatsoever. The Mush race, unless I just need to look a bit harder, is likely to be in that one room of the cave that can't be entered or the room near the bottom that leads nowhere. Mashira is still bugged, and I think that's because her achievement is linked to fighting her again, since it's not taking into account that you might just be cracked on your first (or "first") try. But when you fight her again, the game softlocks after she's defeated, and even if you reload the same save, no achievement. Also, finally, I haven't figured out Mush yet. Much like the Slime, that one was auto-completed, but instead of unlocking on game start, it was unlocked after capturing the Gatekeeper, which is...strange. It seems that most of the elements of her capture are present, but there's still a piece that seems to be missing...
can you send your save to have the monster ?

Ok, I don't know if anyone will find this useful, but I managed to find some basic movement tech!

Just hold down S and then press X while you dash makes you go real fast while you're in the air, you can also press S and then X, but it's pretty inconsistent. This makes getting around a decent bit faster, you also go farther if you hold down the movements while doing it.

I managed to get past the big hole above the forest boss fight, there's nothing on the other side unfortunately.

The latest one, I've been able to capture a few of the girls but I'm confused as to how to capture the mushroom one, kappa, the ones after the orc in the cave system, harpies and the bee.
I have good news and bad news. Bad news is not all of the girls are capturable yet. Good news?

You're talking to the creator of the new guide. ^^

Edit: it has come to my attention I should probably link this to my profile since I'm

A) going to be riding this high for a while (it feels nice to do things that help others, even just in matters of simple convenience), and

B) probably going to encounter this question much more in the near future.

...I'll admit, I figured out the dash-jump tech several versions ago, I just didn't mention it. But that's mainly because I play Metroidvanias practically for a living at this point, so it's a common technique for me. It's a neat little trick, and Zane is definitely right here. Sheer boredom and experimentation leads to these kinds of discoveries. Hell, ages ago, that's the only reason I figured out that Yamabiko and the ant girls had alternate capture methods. I was bored and wondered for a bit too long. "What if...?" is the most dangerous and most fun question a person can ask in gaming.

Those little neat tricks and the thought process behind it is hella interesting. Please people share more of it, despite how "obvious" it might be.
decent sidescrollers/platformers are rare in and of itself. and people liking them, from my experience at least, are even rarer.

I wish the game had a tutorial of sorts IN-GAME so that I can familiarize myself with the controls and what to do
There were almost zero instructions and I had to scrap what I could from accidentally pressing the Spacebar, mashing buttons, and remnants of this forum. I really wish it had a "tutorial" section, I truly do. Heck, I didn't even know I had to look for an exclamation point and press up to "capture" monsters.

PLEASE add a tutorial, amen

Also the description of almost all of the things (except achievements) are missing

I don't understand what is this new version ? A compilation of the 2 previous ones ? It's so confusing
It's a remake in a new engine. The old engine could not support Zell's ambition, so they decided to go and remake it.

Respectfully. You should have read more of the forum instead of just the remnants. The remake is still being developed actively and it not very far into said development, and while the tutorial was supposed to be in the December update, it wasn't finished on time. So you're making complaints that could all be explained with "it's being worked on." This is a summary of the past update made by the dude a few posts up (many thanks to him, btw), which includes some info about the version itself. To avoid issues like this, when you need help, use the search bar or ask. That way, you save time and prevent yourself from retreading old ground in the forum.
