It disappears automatically after a set amount of time.

For some reason (former) staff members remain vague on questions like these. I have seen it before, talking about a "set amount" without getting concrete.

So for everyone that comes across this thread in the future: from my own recent experience, the "Formerly" tag disappears after three weeks.
