VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Freeloading Family [v0.32] [FFCreations]

Story started pretty good and I liked the characters except for the aunt. I really believe that the game only got worse with her introduction and every time she was on scene. Why the hell would I be given the option to reject her advances multiple times just for the game to basically force me to fuck her anyway? This is some major league bullshit, for real. I actually hated every second she was on screen.

Also, the MC is straight up an imbecile a lot of the time. Ignoring calls from his father for 3 months and not text even though MC himself and Alice keep reminding him is a very strict man with a military background and expecting no consequences, not putting two and two together when his father says he should expect some company soon and encounters the front door unlocked but still act surprised when there's someone home, and not even offering condolences to the aunt when she gets there (even though I dislike her) even after Alice does.

The game also doesn't have sound effects and just keeps playing the same song on repeat from start to finish, which after playing some games with amazing sound work, just comes off as a con to me nowadays. The renders are good but the animations are lacking a lot as well.

For some reason this is one of the most memorable games on here for me.


Characters are probably the reason for that. The girls' models are gorgeous, and their personalities are wacky yet relatable. They have some depth, their own motivations, the whole shebang. So this is very much character-driven, which brings me to my next point...

Story isn't the main focus. As the title points out, you're living freely in your parents' house with just your step sister. There aren't any big goals or mysteries. You go to school, you meet people and that's it. But those people are pretty fun, and...

Graphics are so satisfying. Don't know if its the models, posing and whatnot but it just clicks for me. Check the screenshots and judge for yourself.


Recommended for anyone who's okay with reading romance-novel-like games with a bit of crazy (looking at you, Melody).

Bland and boring is all I can say about this title. The characters (except the crazy blond) and the situations that they are in are unimaginative and forgettable. The graphics are passable but nothing to write about. The sex scenes are short and uncreative. There is nothing to this title that you didn't see done someware else and done much better. As a matter of fact it's so bland that I didn't manage to finish it and dropped it at around half way point. Dont waste your time with it.

2 stars for being finished and for graphics being ok but really that's all I can say good for this title. Really it's better to try something orginal and fail then be this bland.

JESUS FUCK. I WANTED A SEXY STORY ABOUT SOME GUY FUCKING HALF THE CITY AND I GOT A LIFE LESSON.

Not one. TWENTY. I heard some stuff in the comments about the endings not being what they liked and whatnot. Trouble in development.

I don't care about any of that. This virtual novel had some EXTREMELY good romance scenes and really heartfelt sex scenes, so if you like Porn with a Plot, this is for you.

But after the wild days and the father came back, the Porn died down A LOT. But the romance? The feels? Fuuuuck me. After Ending 1 I couldn't stop crying for 2 days, and while two of the other endings felt a little shorter, I was super pleased with how the sisters ended up in their own endings. Mel? Come on. COME ON!

My personal ending is Ending 5, because the MC is a saint of a lover and they all deserve the best possible person to guide them in their lives.

I'm going to give this one five stars just because of how much I personally enjoyed it. I will admit though there are things about it that might bother other people.

If I hadn't played through all the individual endings I might have just given it four stars. That's spoiler territory though so I would recommend you not click on the spoiler tags, ButI would like to break all four of them down and say what I liked about them or didn't.

Before I do that though if you haven't played this game I would say it is very much worth it.
There is a lot of reading though and some running around, but the conversations are fun and sometimes insightful.
You'll have to be ok with people joking around a lot and dancing around what they are really feeling though. At least that's how my playthrough went.

As for the quality of the renders these are some of the best I've ever seen. Very good on all levels. I would say Alice and Melody are my personal favorites in the looks department, but every other character is no slouch either.

I'm going into the endings now. GO PLAY IT!

This guy really knows how to make gorgeous models. Very few devs come up with great models.
I wish he could get more revenue for doing animation. Animation was the only thing missing.

There are other shortcomings like fake choices but 4.5stars just for the models and story.

The story it self was pretty good but got boring in places but not to bad to stop reading. The girls was hot but the sex scenes sucked. The romance was good and you have choices but those choices mean nothing on the endings. If you didn't want Alice flirting with Karina to bad the Harem ending shows she ignored your decision. The ending solo and Harem had nothing to do with your choices you made in the story it's like the Dev didn't know how to match your choices to an ending so he made his own endings no matter your choices.

The latter two thirds of the game are better than the first third. It seemed the story telling improved, largely, so I assumed the Dev either hired additional writers or they went out of their way self-improvement style. It would have been nice if they went back to improve the first few chapters to be, as relatively, in depth as the latter.

There are, however, so many spelling errors and inconsistencies with grammar. Even half way through the game I thought about making a mod/addon to correct them all. Which is a shame. Though, don't get me wrong, I do like the game. Just wish it had some TLC and thoroughly proof-read. Yes, I know it is, essentially, a porn game or what have you. But it is still jarring, at times, to see such errors so frequently.

The time between the Father coming home and the start of the epilogues could have been expanded. I think that is a point of contention for a few people here. But, for the endings themselves? Well, let us get the "bad" out of the way. Alice's ending. Whilst I love that she ended up marrying the MC it still is a bit weird, to me, that they continued the poly thing. Sure, inviting a third into the bedroom, once in a blue moon, is fine. I think adding a third as an actual girlfriend undoes the work of the epilogue prior to it. Personally? I would have put in a choice before that. To go either with a monogamy route or a poly one.

However not adding the random woman as Alice's GF. It is obvious that Leah would have been the perfect choice. Akin to coming home to realise, after all that time spent away, that she couldn't live with out both the MC and Alice and vice versa. That would have been better than having a threesome then discarding her, entirely, a few sentences later. This is why having an editor, or a second set of eyes, to look at things is important. To see if it flows and makes sense.

My personal favourite endings are both Leah and Melody. They hit home hard, with me, especially and I certainly was not dry eyed by the end. So I have to congratulate the Dev on those there. Let us just say my own life was related to both of them on the story arch level in the epilogues.Even for an 'adult' game if you can, some how, make something relatable... if only to a slight degree. A slice of people will love it just for that. Memories, and emotions, are a powerful thing. I don't, generally, self insert.

I tend to read AVNs for what they are. As if you are watching a film. So kinks, in games, don't bother me as it isn't about me. Though if a writer can make me emotional by making it relatable... Then they have done something great. Only a handful of AVNs have a brought a tear to my eye. Needless to say, naturally, it is not the draw for such games - Just lovely when done properly.

I liked the Harem ending. In many ways I liked that is was pseudo open ended and clear that their lives had only just begun.Though there is a part of me that wishes it would have gone deeper and had a few more "A couple of years later" moments. But, that is just me.

As for Susan? A plot device, for sure, though it would have been fantastic if you could ignore the other girls and simply have two routes with her. One of lust and one of love and to finish it off with her own epilogue of her and the MC after college living together. Or something along those lines. But that would purely just be wishful thinking as, again, merely a plot device.

Hailey? Well, what can we say? Poor woman. Though by the end of things she is in a far better place, thankfully. Her inclusion to the Harem epilogue was a nice touch. I think she would also deserve her own Epilogue of Hailey and the MC living together lovingly. Out of all the girls, Aunt Hailey needs a happily ever after type scenario.

For the reasons above I can't give the game a 5/5. Quite a few easily rectified issues still persist. But, to me, it certainly can be a 4/5 and reside in my top 15 AVNs list. Which is no small feat.

didn't like the random start where the girls throw themselves at you or the absence of corruption but i get the dev has to show something fast to get patreons specially since its his first game, the middle is really good you get to know more the girls, aunt and leah sister show up and then it ends, not really rushed but could be longer, also alice's seduction should be more focused and slower, since she is you step sister

I played this game a long time ago but recently downloaded the update with the harem ending. This is honestly one of the greatest stories that i have played so far. The characters are well created and you can feel an emotional attachment to each of the girls due to their individual backgrounds and life stories.

I highly recommend playing this VN.

Malice

Loved this game. All the females are stunning. The writing was great as far as I'm concerned. I actually felt for most of the characters. I'm going to miss playing this one. It was so nice and I loved that all the endings were great.

Story is good. Graphics are good. Music is just 1 consistent loop but at least it doesn't just stop all of a sudden and never comes back. The sex scenes are alright, somewhat short in my opinion. A lot of times there are just a few images with a lot of dialogue and then cum. There is 1 animation scene with Alice in the middle of the game but then never again (?), was expecting more as the game progressed. Some of the endings felt a bit lacking. Susan comes back but then becomes irrelevant again. The harem route not having all the girls pregnant feels like a missed final image, especially since another character has a pregnant image. Not having a wedding and/or child also feels like a missed opportunity. Lastly, the point system in general with all stats felt like it was irrelevant and didn't affect the game at all (not entirely sure). It didn't seem like any choices were locked out due to not having enough points but rather because you can only choose one.

Overall Score: 4

Loved the writing which ultimately is why I play these games. Loved the choices given too you. Game is very pretty too. Looking forward to whatever the dev makes next. Honestly my only minor gripe is we don't experience Melody playing piano at any point and we can't bang her mom either

For me one of the best games i played....would have been better if scenes were animated but i will not complain....the story was nice....was sp hooked that i finished playing it the day before my exam....felt sad when the game ended.... overall i really loved to play this game.

very nice game with lots of girls (and one sort of milf) to date and fuck and spend time otherwise, also has semi-incest if that interests, can date all girls without consequences or 1 at a time, each girl has her own personality and those are well made.

graphics aren't top notch but still very good and game is actually 2 games in 1 since epilogues after main game are their own game.

A complete game that has solid writing and a variety of girls to pursue. The visuals do date the game a bit but they are still far from being the eye sore that is sometimes seen in older Renpy games.

It's hard to believe I have been playing versions of this game for nearly 5 years but the end result I feel as been worth the wait. Hope the developer considers a Steam release.

Been playing this game since the start. Love the story, love the characters and their background, and love the fun times.

Sure it is a bit dated now, with some of the newer animations of other games. However this is just a good game with great pieces that overcome the somewhat dated (not bad) graphics.

TL; DR
Amazing game experience, almost completely ruined in a blink of eye by one single update. 3* at upd 26.5 (had a quick glimpse on one of endings), and I won't go further into endings to not have a reason to rate this even lower...

Kudos to FFCreations for creating this game I was looking for something like that kind of half brother relationship I'm loving this game and I'm really looking forward to a next update I saw the game is on hold so I'll just have to be patient and see where it goes I believe that the creator of the game will make the final with all possible routes what I am most waiting for is the ( harem ) as everyone must be waiting too. But for me it's sad one of the endings made me a little sad and then my favorite girl Alice I didn't like her ending very much for some reasons but anyway Now it's just waiting for the main course with all the LI

Freeloading Family is a good game that is just missing some small details to be a 5/5.

The story is good and has some really emotional moments and a lot of funny ones, this was one of the few VNs that has had me laughing out loud several times.

The characters have different and well defined personalities and I really liked the interactions of all the different girls with the MC. I also really liked the MC, he is not a super chad but is not a pushover either, he has a personality with flaws and strengths, like a normal person.

There is no clear antagonist in the game, which was refreshing and it was good to just see the relationships of the characters evolving.

The sex scenes had good writing and were very hot in their setup if a bit short.

So what could have turned this into a 5/5? :
1.- longer and animated sex scenes
2.- the ending felt rushed, if it had been a bit longer and well defined... instead we get a bit of an anticlimactic "much time later" and some choices for possible endings.
3.- the characters are, for the most part, not integrated into the scenes, but rather standing in front of a background, it is not the end of the world, but it would have helped to see them more integrated with the scenery.

I think overall though this is a game that is very much worth your while and even though it says it is "on hold" it is pretty much 99.9% done, just a couple of the endings are not finished.
