VN - Ren'Py - FreshWomen [S2 Ep.3 Part 2] [OppaiMan]

Would rate this a 2.5 star, rounding up to 3. Story is effectively finished and yet it continues to go around in circles.

The graphics are good. The writing is not good, but the developer does make an effort to give each character a unique voice. Starts off as a slice of life game that then gets sucked into a ridiculous plot that really doesn't make any sense.

Not the worst game to kill an hour or two with if you are bored, but wouldn't go out of my way to play it

Fresh Women has nice visuals and character designs that are unfortunately let down by a mediocre story and corny setups to force sex scenes into each episode.

Story
MC heads down to a new town to study in order to investigate the whereabouts of his missing father. This mystery is mostly dormant as what we get instead is a typical college slice of life and porn game story where MC goes around banging various chicks.

Halfway through there is a drastic turn in the direction of the story which is abrupt and makes no sense - like an actor walking from one porn set to another to continue shooting a totally different story.

Generally, the story is made to revolve around random sex scenes rather than the other way round.

Game Mechanic
There are choices that sort of determines the sex scenes you will see though most of it follows a linear narrative. Just turn on in in game hints if you want to experience everything in a single run.

Background / Character Renders
As expected of such games, the backgrounds are basically standard fare that do their job but don't stand out.

I believe the characters are made with Daz3D, but well polished and designed for both MC and the gals. It's in fact a bit of a shame that such models are wasted on a flimsy story.

Character Development
MC passively reacts to whatever happens to the point you feel like watching as a third party rather than relating to him. That he tolerates being verbally abused and jerked around does not gel with the introduction of a guy determined to investigate his missing father despite suffering from amnesia either.

All the female characters exist for sex only. My main beef is you don't get the sense that the relationship between MC and a LI is going deeper and deeper as the story progresses. It's the classical hot chicks jumping in to have sex with MC all the time.

Interactions remain at surface banality throughout as if all of them are merely acquaintances with common interests. The dialogue is bland without character and does not evolve in line with the story and intimacy.

Sex Scenes
As a game where everything revolves around lewds, at least the developer has gotten this area right. There are plenty of scenes and all of them are evenly paced out because each episode is sort of pescribed with a standard number of scenes.

The scenes are decently animated with accompanied sound effects though some of them are short and lack dialogue. Many a times there is no build up and foreplay before fucking as is typical of porn scenes.

BGM and Sound Effects
BGMs and sound effects are standard fare and do their job well. One unique aspect is every character except the MC features complete voice overs which is quite rare in English adult games.

Conclusion
Fresh Women is a game that is built around sex, the story is poorly stitched together and the lewd scene pacing is so consistent that you can even roughly anticipate when the next one will be coming after playing a while.

The character models and animations are good but wasted on a poorly executed story with minimal character development.

Why is the MC such a spineless pussy? If this is a VN you should at least have a likeable and relatable MC. Like most of the women have more balls than this guy has. He breaks down and starts bitching like a girl does wheras the girls are like "wtf is your problem???". Not to mention he gets outright disrespected and just takes it.

This MC should be written into a femdom only story with lots of pegging and not a game like this that apparently is hetero? Plus the story is so clowny just because of the mc, I'd imagine you could find better stories watching a hallmark movie.

still at the beginning of the game, so far everything very good - MC should have a relationship with Clerk (blue jacket) - a little chubby never hurts - plus maybe a grandmother with wide hips and a big ass? is a contrast to the model types - like the salt in the chicken soup otherwise: keep it up - keep your fingers crossed - will stay tuned......

The graphics are stunning, immersing you in a beautifully crafted world that feels alive and vibrant. The gameplay is smooth and engaging, with a perfect balance of challenge and reward that keeps you hooked for hours.

Forgetable story. It's unironically bad, even for an h-game. The games with poor storylines on this website accept the incredulity and even have fun with that idea; whereas this one tries to take itself seriously and fails miserably.

Renders are high quality. But, the characters are unoriginal and the scenes are lackluster. I don't find myself rewatching any scenes.

I don't have any specific feedback for the developer. Perhaps try for a different angle and premise? For example, something grittier, mysterious, or even more heartwarming.

Review as of [S2 Ep.3 Part 1] FreshWomen has what it takes to be a 5 star game, but there are some areas that just fell short, and will have to settle with 3 stars for now. I was really excited when I first saw this game, there's just so much to like about it. One of the most important factors to a game is the girls, and the girls here are just so beautiful and diverse, and I really like Susan, Lily, and Sue especially, Sue's a 10/10 for me, with the animations in the H scenes amazing as well. Love the voice acting for the girls as well, they all sound pretty different, and there's also changes in their tones depending on what is happening (Especially during H scenes), and I like that a lot, not many games comes close to this level of voice acting. Decent UI with gallery included to replay scenes. Now all these factors are pretty important in making a game standout among so many others. What makes this game only worth 3 stars is mainly the story. It was decent in the beginning with the situation about the dad and all, but it all ended abruptly. Could've been deeper and expanded further as well, and now it turns into a different direction where MC works for a strip club, and is now recruiting girls, having them service(?) other men, is just so weird for me. Now while many of the girls are amazing here, they all just seem to throw themselves at MC, and just wants to have sex with him with very little motivation. Sure we can skip those scenes but even then, it just feels unrealistic. Sure you can have 1/2 easy girls, but all of em? Also feels weird to be able to have sex with all of them without consequences. Can we at least have some character exclusive relationships.

I really feel this game can be so much more. Hopefully there will be some changes to it in the upcoming episodes, I really want to enjoy FreshWomen.

This started out in one direction and has since gone in a very different direction completely at odds with it's beginnings.

Harem game, at least it begins as one.

Feels really strange to then be playing as a character who is chatting up women, telling them how hot they are only to be recruiting them to have sex with other men instead. Weirdest direction I didn't see coming.

I've known about it for a while and I figured I'd give it another try to see if that was just a random brief blip but nope, here my named character is again, off chatting up women and asking them if they'd like to work as prostitutes because of how good looking they are.

The game has no clue what it want's to be and is just totally at odds with itself which is confusing and doesn't really make sense.

The rest of it is great though, renders, animations, there's voice acting and it's funny, enjoyable but then just gets really quite weird and there's no choice given about the weird shit, you're just suddenly doing it. Lack of such an important choice is really ruining what began as a great game.

This game is an absolute mess -- seriously, one of the worst in active development. The production is laughable despite the effort put into making it look good.

It took me a while to put my finger on what this game reminded me of, but I've got it now. It's a network procedural that's on in the waiting room at the doctor's office. Sure, the presentation is professional and the visuals are well done, but it's formulaically boring and inoffensive - the plot is dull, the writing is uninspired, and the sex is vanilla.

The renders and animation is top tier, and there is a decent amount of content. The story is average at best, but good enough for a porn game. I don't like it when its 100 chapters of teasing and then a couple of sex scenes at the end, but some of the scenes in this game feel undeserved, like they don't fit some of the characters. I also don't like how little the MC tries at times. It's not that he's timid, but like, there is a girl who wants a threesome with other girls, but he makes no effort to do it, even when there are girls who would probably be down. Overall the MC was kinda shit IMO

The voice acting is really cool, and well done for the most part. It's kinda weird that the MC isn't voiced when every other character is. Also, the MC has throughout the game really bad facial expressions, which is kinda off-putting

Overall tho, would easily recommend

This game is so funny and so hot. The stories and scenes are quite gripping. Especially the scenes with Lily are amazing! We are looking forward to the update. There aren't many games with multi-language options like this, and that's the best feature.

ok for me, the thing that makes this game 5 stars is the audio and the animations. Both are great. I am not sure the story is the greatest, but there are different characters, even if they all do want to bang the MC with very little motivation. If you like female lead audio, talking to you in the scenes then this game is worth following.

5 stars? Yes. Are there things I would like to have seen done differently or better? Yes. But Hollleeeeee Sheeeet, I can't get over how well done the renders and especially the animations are in this game. I can tell they changed up the quality in the last episode (S2,Ep.2). That is when I knew this game has the best rendered animation on this entire site. If other devs put out this kind of visual quality I'd never leave my computer.

Some nit picks:
1) The main character is a dufus sometimes, but maybe that has something to do with his accident.
2) The writing is ok. Not bad, not great, but not bad. And to be honest, I don't really care for these big over arching in depth stories. I'm here for the erotica and the bang. I just need that wrapped up into some sort of build up (slice of life works best). I don't need a spy novel or sci-fi epic. That's not what I'm here for. But it does have to be enough story to had a nice build up and kink exploration. This helps with the flow and edge.
3) Older women need to look older, not just 25 year olds with giant tits.
4) I'll say it again...hair down there. I know it's more work but it makes such a huge difference when some women have a little fur in the right place. Every woman being bald breaks immersion a bit.

All that aside, this is still a 5 star game to me and has the best damn animations of any game I've seen on this site especially once it gets to S2 Ep. 2. I hope they continue to make the renders and animation in the new style. It's almost like they took their models and ran it through some AI filter. Really incredible stuff.

This is a really great VN ...with great potential. I am rating at a 3, and here is why.

The author is super skilled, tells a story with good capability makes it engaging. Excellent artwork. The characters are enduring.

There are only a few other examples of VNs like this that could be at the top of their game where the author then goes on to write other really great VNs.

The criticism. The author only goes so far with how human behavior works. For the most part women don't act the way portrayed in this VN. And not by just a little bit.

If the author made more of a build up over time to where a majority of the love interests (LIs and sides) built up a crush and want for the MC this would work better.

The LIs jump right into lewd scenes and are basically robotic sex-bots. For example, it is hard to believe the nerd girl LI would just jump into getting hammered by the MCs big dick without being astonished by the MC's body.

For the most part, there is no dick-drunk from the LIs where they are wanting to be passionate about the MC all the time. Worse when they leave the scene it is like 'see ya' later' and a wave.

This VN would be stellar with strict paths. You get an LI and that path plays out to the end of the VN. Where practical, consequences for being a man whore.

As it is now, you can bang everything and it just makes the MCs character unappealing, shallow and one-dimensional.

If this VN was altered to fit more into that format, you would not be able to rate it at a 5,... only a 10 would do. It has that good of a foundation to be untouchable, and, the best.

There’s absolutely nothing interesting about the interactions and conversations. It’s all blablabla.

Not to mention the road the story has taken. You’re making shit up as you go and completely lost your original blueprint.

Season 2 Episode 1 blew the whole build-up from the entire first season to pieces, and Episode 2 tries to introduce a new and interesting story-arch but fails to deliver, instead it becomes boring and meaningless.

And btw, what's up with those weird faces? Certain emotions you want to emphasize, look like the person just realized he/she stepped in a giant turd.

I found the game bland and boring, art non-attractive, scenes non-hot.
None of the characters or plot points feel believable or even remotely interesting.

Feels like a "quality" game to earn money, but it is missing something, something that you can find in less budget projects.

Like an interesting gameplay, or person, or plot.

As of now, this is no longer a game driven by a plot of long term planning. Game started started off with a direction and the setting was solid until the project's support skyrocketed on some monetisation platforms which eventually made the Dev seemingly giveup on his original vision for the game: now it's a game that revolves around whichever love interest character wins the poll of popularity, she gets a lewd scene for the next update. Yes, you heard it right, it's now basically a sex simulator, whoever wins the poll gets a sex scene and the "plot" that dev will have to come up with is forced into the story of the game. How would that work for a visual NOVEL? There can't be a seamless continuity when you are not planning to write the game based on your ideas but you are in the passive, forced to come up with whatever lewd setting to fit your poll winning sex doll into the novel.

UPDATE: I've finished playing through the game. It goes downhill fast. It's like the renders are great, but the sex is robotic as if written by someone with zero experience. Girls are invariably too easy. None of them have any real agency and they only exist to fulfill the MC's wishes. Part of me thinks the dev is just appealing to the lowest common denominator and in doing so, compromising any chance of the game having real soul. There are many other less-visually-polished AVNs on this site that deliver a much more packing punch with real story telling, character development, etc.

so it averages out to about 2.5/5 but I'm bringing it down half a peg to balance out the other reviews (like my old one below)

OLD REVIEW:

Great game! No shortage of lewds and sex scenes, a very diverse cast of LIs of every shape, age and size, an actual interesting story (which surprisingly starts with the tired amnesia trope but slowly develops into something deeper), funny moments, fantastic renders, a fairly likeable MC for VN standards....

Though players might wish the dev had done A or B differently, I think those will come down to a matter of personal taste. For example, personally I probably like a bit kinkier stuff in VNs I play whereas this is pretty middle-of-the-fairway sex wise. But that's not really an issue, you know what I mean? More like the dev's choice, so I can't really say the dev has made any mistakes with this one.

It's not going to win the Nobel of Literature but it's pretty solid. Aspiring devs should look to this as a framework for their own projects. And maybe the dev themselves here looked to some other college-themed-VN-that-shall-remain-unnamed as inspiration (especially given the male sidekick which has almost the exact same personality) but that's not bad in and of itself

The MC is fine for VN standards even if some of his choices, highly emotional reactions, and general "game" feels off at times. But then again, I'm not expecting Nobel-level characters and writing here.

Full disclosure: I haven't finished the game yet, so seeing some of these other lower rated reviews, maybe the writing goes downhill by the time season 2 rolls in with full force? I don't know, but for now it's a solid VN to keep going through while I wait for updates to other VNs with bated breath. Again, it's like an easy choice and distraction when I need some escapism.

For now, 5/5 with gusto!
