Yeah I guess it is fire and forget. I never bothered doing all that since I pretty much play through all that I'm interested in playing in a single playthrough. Since most games of this type don't have enough for more than that.yeah true, should've probably mentioned the drawbacks.
The reason why I mostly do it like this is it's fire and forget. edit the html once (keeping a backup) and never have to worry about that stuff again.
There's times where I've gone in and edited the Twine file, but that's mainly for bigger games like Secretary where I do some basic bugfixing here and there if they pop up consistently, or just want to remove some checks for scenes.
Most of the time I'll just do it live though, since searching passages is way easier in the browser than Twine.
