Unless something's changed in the dev's plan behind the scenes, then this shouldn't be a concern. If they didn't give you the option they'd be basically playing a long con on the player base.

To be brutally honest, I think the "please everyone" option they stated is a bad move.
Let me explain: people who'd want an anthro protagonist will have to deal with 1/3 to 1/2 of the VN and a large portions of the lewd scenes with him as a human. All of the game's marketing material shows the MC as human too, so really, the only people who'd get anything out of are people into TF, I guess?

We haven't strayed from our original idea. The main character will only have the opportunity to transform into a fury in one of the branches; in the other branches, he will remain human.

That's excellent to hear. I hope my post didn't come off too accusatory/aggressive. I was more-or-less just giving my own thoughts on the matter with minor theorizing. I'm glad both parties will be happy in the end.

I'm personally waiting for the game to be more complete before I give it a playthrough, as there's nothing more disappointing than running into the "end of content" wall in a VN like this for me, but it certainly sounds like something I'd be interested it.
