Yes. It is. Futanari is literally Japanese for "Dual Form," meaning two sexes in one person as described in Japanese folklores. This word came first than the word "Hermaphrodite" by at least 2 centuries and should be respected as such by not washing away its meaning from modern gender dysmorphia.

Just for the sake of historical accuracy: the term "hermaphrodite" derives from the Ancient Greek mythology, (original form Ἑρμαφρόδιτος), and attested at least as early as ca. 300 BCE in the writings of Theophrastus, thus predating the earliest attested examples of written Japanese by at least a whole millenium.
That being said, I can neither claim intimate familiarity with Japanese folklore, not wit the Japanese language; my primary knowlege of the use of term comes from reading (translated) hentai comics. So, if you have any sources on that in English, or another European language, at least, I'll be happy to read up.
