The Dev
Hello. My name is Alex Theroux. I am looking for an artist to join me in creating a game. While I cannot go into specifics about what the game's name is I will be forward in what it will contain, the goal of the game, and most importantly the pay for assisting me in the creation of the game.
The Project
The setup of the game based off of a simple question. "if you were trapped in a bubble, isolated from the world, what would you do? Time doesn't matter any longer. Survival doesn't either. You just exist in this pocket dimension. What do you do? Learn something new? Finish something you put off? Or would you lose your mind?"
So far I have been working on the prototyping and writing the game myself for about a week now. Very early in development using placeholder assets I created. I will be honest, this is my first time working in Ren'py but considering that I went from a 101 course education in C++ where I couldn't even get a input string to work to where I am so far with working music/sound cues, player choices, and navigation going, and basically all I need to get the game I'm looking for, could be a lot worse.
The game is of course adult in nature though I would like to try and also add more than just that. More character dynamics, exploration of motivation, and toy with the player. Subvert expectations but in a way that doesn't feel like a slap in the face. Hopefully by the end of it all it will have been fun, interesting, and sexy.
What I'm Looking For In an Artist
Speaking of sexy, I am hoping to work with an artist that understands sort of what I mean by "characters designed attractive, but not looking like pornstars." More realistic in the sense of these look like people that would pass you by in the street you'd sort of ignore, but when you engage one on one at someplace like work or university, you'd really notice them. No H-cup size chests, hips that need a "wide load" warning when passing around them on a bus, guys chisled like greek warriors or hung like horses.
As for the future tags that will be included in the game, the biggest ones that I need someone comfortable making art for is incest and gay sex.
While there is a couple that'll be a M&F incestous relationship, the other will be a M&M relationship. If you are uncomfortable with either of these, that is totally understand and I thank you for reading and have a good day or evening.
As it says in the posting I am looking for an artist that either wishes to work in 2D or 3D. I myself am a bit torn between the two.
2D is great and allows for more creative liscense in visuals that don't come off as strange or surreal.
3D is great if it has a nice style to it. Though most I tend to see sometimes I find a bit uncanny or strange looking.
Employment Type
This is not a unpaid, but to circumstances I will be only able to share the profit of the game that is generated via donation or crowdfunding (Patreon, SubscribeStar for example.) The split will be 60/40 of whatever is paid to us. Sixty percent will go to the artist that joins, the other forty will head to me for writing, coding, and upkeep (posting on F95 and other sites, distributing builds, et cetera.)
Work Commitment
I am looking for someone that I can work on this project with that is in it for the project, not just the money.
This isn't a replacement for a day job really. I won't ask you to work it like one, just try to meet a schedule, if you can't because IRL got in the way, that's understandable. Just be forward if you need time away or any complications that spring up. Don't want to be inflexiable. Life is very unpredicatable.
It will most likely be a one off game, but if maybe in the future you wish to stay on board for another when it's all done, that is fine too.
