Game won't open on Mac (when same download file as pc and linux)

Ok, so when a game is uploaded and the file you need to download is the same file for mac and pc, it won't work on mac. After I extracted it, it looks like there's an app I can't open but it only says that it can't be opened. Any way to fix this?

Additional details: It's a renpy game

and open the game folder through that. work fine most of the time, unless there is a version incompability.

The devs fucked up. That's for market, they should have done builds separately for each platform (I know because I made the same mistake in the past and someone let me know).
