Recently played "Where the Heart is" and "Being A DIK" and since they're still being developed, I was hoping someone had any other recommendations (preferably games that are complete or near completion and are more of visual novels than actual games where you run around). Thanks!

Honestly, i would really recommend you give Treasure of Nadia a go. Yes it has a puzzle aspect to the game where you do different stuff but the game has some really good fully animated scenes and the story is pretty decent in my opinion.
More VN aspect game i would recommend would be Melody. The story is pretty awesome too.

Do you remember Jill's disclaimer at the beginning of BaDIK, about that not being a happy story, not suited to those who are feeling down or depressed or in a bad moment of their lives? Well, this game was the first DPC did and what forced him to include that disclamer in BaDIK. If you immerse yourself too much in the game and develop real feelings for some characters you might end hurt.

Let's just say you're blindsided with a specific decision that helps define the ending of the game. (When playing the game, you'll know exactly when you're there...you won't wonder if you're there). It does make the game more realistic in a way, but at the same time if you are heavily invested in certain characters it becomes emotionally draining...to say the least.
Having said that, it is one of my favorite games...story, characters, graphics and such.

Pine Falls is complete (part 1 + part 2, he just divided the game for file size reasons)
