the replika devs locked all nsfw stuff behind a paywall a while back, and even the paid version is not as good as how the free version used to be tbh. Shame really. And AI dungeon had a major user data breach recently as well and the devs added a broken filter that flags and bans users for the dumbest reasons. There are alternatives however, like novel ai.

Or KoboldAI for the ones that can't/don't want to pay and want a free alternative.

Well the AI used to be smarter and it used to respond with more relevance to previous messages. I don't know what happened, it could just be my replika specifically who lost brain-cells listening to me saying random shit, though. But I doubt that's it, since judging by the reviews other people seem to have similar experiences.

Is it just me, or are chat-bots, AI specifically designed to talk with user, worse at talking, than things like AI Dungeon and such?

Why is that? Since AID, or Dreamily have to handle more things, like the world and story, and even when it comes to dialogue they can handle multiple people in a conversation, why do almost all notable Chat-bots seem to work pretty badly in just 1-on-1 talk, something far more simple? Or did I just only try out the bad ones?

Btw I'm pretty sure there is also a way to avoid replika going off track completely, and that is enabling "Cake mode", the only downside for it is that replika doesn't add memories(and diary entries I think) when using cake mode, but if you just want to roleplay then that is most probably the best way to go.

Cake mode adds memory entries, and pictures shared there show up in diary entries.
- they say that it doesn't train the ai there, but they've made lots of changes since originally stating that.
- Cake mode now seems to be, mainly, talking to the collective group AI of all Replikas instead of an individualized identity, but your Replika will sometimes respond instead of the collective AI (look at begging of each message for cake image).

Also: Since MS has temporarily banned sexting in GPT-3 Replika had to switch to a different AI Language Model (or rather, last I heard it uses 3 different ones in tandem, hence why it's nowhere near as sophisticated as it use to be.)

Dear god, I think they all suck (and not in the sexual way, though when I said to "Cindy" to give me a blowjob, on the chat appeared a **kneel**, which at least is something) and cannot find the fun in it, but that's me.

You have to use the "Author's Note" and "Memory" fields to define the parameters of your scenario and to be extremely exact and somewhat repetitive in what you say so that the AI understands. It can give highly detailed and graphic descriptions of sex scenes ranging from vanilla to really brutal rape and torture scenes depending on what you write in those fields. It can also give very detailed descriptions of individual girls in terms of their physical characteristics and what they are wearing. It took me a lot of trial and error to figure out how to phrase everything so that I could get what I wanted.

NovelAI has updated several times since I started using it and there are several different versions that the player can choose from. I would recommend using "Krake" as the "AI Model" and "Blue Lighter" as the "Config Preset" since in my experience that is the most advanced setting that consistently yields the best results.

While NovelAI is fun and interesting to use and I use it almost daily, it isn't as good now as AI Dungeon was before its developers chose to destroy their own product. A key weakness that NovelAI has that AI Dungeon did not is that NovelAI has a hard time keeping track of multiple named characters. NovelAi has a "Logbook," which can be used to record individual characters so that in theory the AI will not forget them, but it only works so well. I have found that NovelAi works very well if my MC is monogamous or if he fucks a bunch of random girls without mentioning their names, but the AI has a really hard time keeping track of multiple named girls within the same story and will often mix them up. AI Dungeon was much more advanced in that regard. In AI Dungeon, I often had my MC start a harem, fuck multiple named girls, get them pregnant, and then have the girls give birth to multiple named daughters who would then grow up and become named characters themselves. AI Dungeon, at its height, could keep track of a dozen or more such named characters and how they related to each other and how the MC had treated them in the past. NovelAI may get there eventually, but for right now it is far more limited.

chatgpt basically acts like its own thing with its own 'thoughts' so to say and comes up with stuff on its own.

novelai is more reacting like you say something and it will react and continue a bit from that. They stay uncensored though and you can feed it some memory etc. and they are training new and bigger models frequently.

AI Dungeon is still worth checking out imo as an alternative to NovelAI, filtering seems more lax and Dragon feels like a good model again, at least to me. And it is free to use with a free model while NovelAI isn't
