I was fortunate in that I started playing adult games with NLT's Treasure of Nadia and then moved on from there to Being a DIK. I kind of assumed that this would be the normal standard for a decent game and have dipped my toes into perhaps another 20 games since. I've been sorely disappointed to discover that the aforementioned games are absolutely NOT the normal standard, which instead is a series of endlessly repetitive, stupid stories with bundles of vapid adoring women of ridiculous proportions who mostly seem to be either related to the MC or who 3 seconds after meeting the MC seem to be willing to suffer any indignity at his hands, that no decision made by the MC can possibly dissuade this endless stream of cumbuckets from expressing their pleasure, and that there are virtually no mysteries or game elements to be played. What I have found instead of playing a game is that I am simply clicking as fast as I can to get through cringe dialogue and to advance the story, usually to find that there is no story.
OK, so I like there to be an actual "game" element to my game, rather than simply endless clicking of the mouse to follow the story. If I wanted to do that I'd simply buy the book or watch the porn movie. I know many of you disagree, and I'm fine with that. To each their own. Unlike many I actually prefer the sandbox aspects and quests with puzzles etc., and generally would prefer less lewd scenes and more quality writing with decisions that actually matter, rather than gratuitous and often insufferably stupid sex scenes. I'm probably in the minority. That's fine too. I'm not offended or disinclined to see/play any type of story or character and have no moral reservations about anything. I simply want a good game with game elements and with a good story and a straight protagonist.
So, bearing this in mind, are there any games you guys could recommend that would fit the bill and actually require some player interaction and with a story that doesn't sound like a horny 10 year old wrote it? Thanks and sorry if I sound jaded, but I'm kind of tired and frustrated wasting my time trying all these different games to be disappointed again and again because I can't find what I'm looking for.
