Why do most games have female protagonists with massive tits and asses? Do you have any recommendations with small tits / asses?

Heh, yeah. That's a well known idea but it goes right to the uncanny valley when played straight by a naive artist.

Anyway; If you really want a femme body type rarer than rocking horse shit in any type of smut, it's smallish breasts and a big arse. That goes a long way with me on the basic principle that I quite like porn that reflects reality - I'm more interested in the fantasy of the situation/act than an imagined notion of beauty.

While everything you said here is true, the proportions the thread OP is likely referencing (those commonplace in avns) are so cartoonishly skewed out of reality, I don't think this is the reason behind it.
He's likely not talking about D cup boobs, he's talking about the cartoon balloon-bolt-ons found everywhere. As to where this comes from, I can only hypothesize it's from a lack of real world sexual experience. I realize how condescending this sounds to those who hold that preference; but consider, they're not even fantasizing about a body that would be on the world's hottest supermodel. It's a purely plastic creation, jerking off over cartoon barbie dolls instead of the idealized female body. That to me immediately suggests a lack of familiarity with what girls' bodies look like in the flesh.

Breast sizes seem to vary from what I could find but none are above a D-cup with most being a B or C-cup.
Your examples would suggest most games should have unrealistically thin and tall women with average sized breasts.

What Pamphlet has said is true, and I too prefer the female characters to have small breasts but also with nice, NATURAL, curves. Unfortunately, most of the time if we try to search games that feature small boobs, this also means that the models themselves have the thin, slender physique, too. I try to overlook this aspect, but sometimes I just find myself wishing they were curvier (minus the big boobs, of course). Still, if I were to choose between the skinny look and the unnaturally big tits and ass, then I'd have to say, I'd pick skinny with small boobs, just so that I wouldn't have to deal with those big tits.
In terms of the actual reason as to why the exaggerated body shapes, I think it's more complicated than one may think. As a matter of fact, I have participated in similar discussions in the past and have gotten the impression that even developers at times may not have much say in the matter. I remember one developer expressing that certain media distributors may threaten developers that their contents be banned unless they make the breasts of their female characters bigger. I suspect this is the distributors' (what looks to me like an) ignorant approach to combatting certain types of social outcry against the models in these games looking a "certain way".
Still, there are games out there that feature female characters whose body types are more-or-less natural looking. Or, at the very least, they will include characters who have small breasts even though the main love interest may be quite top-heavy (think the main girl Dee and her petite bestie Elena from DMD). For this reason, even if the game comes with the "#big tits" tag, one just might still be able to find other romanceable characters whose physique may be a bit more to one's liking.
Now, there is one game I recently played that seemed to take a more natural approach to the way the female characters looked in terms of their physique. Although there definitely are skinny characters, I have been pleasantly surprised to see one character, Holly, does have the "small-ish boobs plus curvy body" physique.
