The underlying logic is inspired by the eternal hero mythos, the idea that a soul (or souls) can be destined to be reincarnated to fight for the good guys again and again.

It was partially nspired by all the discussions about souls and reincarnation in book 3.

She looks similiar to one other character i know
This is called a "Daz effect" or "Daz Curse" by some devs. If two developers would use the same basic model there is a chance character will look like similiar. I'm positively surprised that Lin looks like my favorite character
After playing in "Love of Magic" some time ago i'm expecting great stuff here!

Anyway, Lin's awesome... she started life as an extra (MC does some personal training to earn cash), and then totally escaped plot jail and wrote herself into one of the major side-characters.
