Oni Onsen [Y Press Games]

This game is even worse than Orc Covenant. The developer announces: After years of hard work, passion, and dedication we present to you: Oni Onsen...
Years of making such pathetic nonsense. I don't understand why I still try their games. But try it yourself

Hello! Adding a patch simply updates some of the game's files. And my gallery consists of 250 CG and after adding the patch.
Thanks! I tested it—apply the 20250816 patch first, then use the nudemod and copy its files into jianchengzi. That gives you 250 CGs. If you apply the 20250816 patch again , it drops to 134 (probably because the patch overwrites some nudemod files).

My gallery also consist of only 134 CGs. I don't know what's wrong, will try to play it first.

The ENG version of luckydog1 was just released on MangaGamer:

Uncensored and Everything!!
Is there a kind soul that can share it with us??
I'm not sure that kind souls will play this) And it looks like Yura didn't bother themself too much creating new art and GG. Everything looks like a remake of Enzai. I always wondered why this ugly game was localized and so many great games were left untranslated. And with Lucky Dog it's just deja vu

https://f95zone.to/threads/oni-onsen-v1-2-1-y-press-games.268176/ I'm pleasantly surprised that there's a female side story with Onis. Quite unique! I wonder why bisexual male protagonist is rare though.
I mean most of the time they are either made to be straight or gay based on what the creator is into so they won't have the other because it's not something they like. As soon as you get both types of content you'll have straight guys complaining about gay content and demanding a way to skip/ignore it and vice versa or they will straight up skip the game even if it's a small scene. That said there are developers that will try and cater to both audiences, but most of the time either it's a token effort that can once again be skipped or will straight up be forgotten. A good example of that is Summertime Saga where they mentioned adding gay content but beyond a token character they just kinda ignored it since it's not their main audience.

Likewise with Lustful Desires it started with some female chars added and you can play as female mc, but he kinda just included that for the people who wanted it then it's quickly been ignored since it's a primarily gay game. At the end of the day there is too much risk of driving a majority of your potential fan base and income away by including both since the majority of people will skip it because it contains said content whether you can skip it or not, or the character types mainly appeal to a certain demographic.

The only games i can think of that have been going out of their way to try and include almost everyone (and seem to be doing well despite that) are Lust Hunter where they have male/female/futa options and even do seperate itch pages for each one in case you don't even want to see screenshots of the other stuff and just want to be notified when 'your' type of content is added, and Lust for Adventure where it's more for those who wish WoW had sex in it.

I'd say the best example would be HORNSTOWN.
Lust for Adventure is actually gay focused, and Lust Hunter is really not for gays.

The fact is each orientations are mutually exclusive, (Unless you are Bi yourself, but the number is even lower and it shouldn't rly matter to them).
so unless it's a "PornHub" style game (like Hornstown) there's no way you can include more than one direction without compromising the quality of the game, or just antagonising your existing / potential audiences. But even as a "Hub" game unless it's worked on by multiple ppl there's still resource strain problem.

So in terms of making Porn games, never try to be "Inclusive", identify your audience and go hard on them. If you try to appeal to all you end up appeal to none.

Shoot, I may have gone about it all wrong. I didn't do either of those but just included the kind of relationships that I wanted to see and uplift. How did you go about identifying your audience first? Does it involve kind of having to be involved in F95 or reddit communities?

I don't think any of my friends are super into NSFW games.

Also, hi, new user and first post. Went right to the gay content lol

The only way I can really see something like that working would be if the team developing the game was really more like two teams each working on their own piece of content, so that no one could really complain about one piece of content taking precedence over another (unless the two teams were really unbalanced from a number of devs/artists perspective). Likewise, then the teams would only really be working on what they actually want to, which would hopefully result in less half-assed/throw-away stuff.

The issue is that there are very few NSFW dev groups large enough or organized enough to really pull something like that off.

Hi there. TBH I'm not a dev myself so don't really hv an easy answer. (I just played way too many games XD)
IMO the most important thing is to follow your own creative vision, Create a game you yourself would enjoy / want to play.
So your "included the kind of relationships that I wanted to see and uplift" should be fine, then see what kind of feedback you get.
That way you build your own audience along the way. I don't think Most dev know their audience when they started XD.

Not sure about the other approach where you try to audience capture as much as you can, aka "trend chasing" (Personally I don't like those kind of games)

I also don't think it's "Necessary" to involve in F95 or reddit communities, but it's better to get as much exposure you can as possible. In fact F95 might not be for all devs since it's still a pirate site, and reddit is too ez to turn into an echo chamber. So pick your poison I guess

Ah, fair point. Well that's encouraging. Thanks!

Pirate site. Right. Patreon models for supporters and such while one's games are ripped. That does seem like an intensive way to have an audience but also nice and personal. Maybe worth it.

What do you mean by echo chamber on reddit? Like each sub is too niche and will just demand the same kink content repeatedly?

Patreon / Subscription models are actually hurt the least in terms of monetisation, since they charges monthly and "sharing based leaks" don't always happen.
The fact is there's no way to stop piracy as long as it's digital, The more popular your game is, the more likely it got pirated.
The other silver-lining is pirates will have different point of views compare to others, so you can get more perspectives.

On Reddit you can simply shut-up anyone with downvotes, so people with different opinions could be effectively censored and discouraged super easily.

Pay close attention to feedbacks, but be mindful and critical how you deal with it. And proper networking goes a long way.
At any rate, Good luck on your game, hope to see something good :p

I say the better solution is to futureproof yourself by being upfront about what your game's general appeal to the audience. I mean, if you promote your game as LGBT, people for the most part, expected to aim towards themes related to the majority. if you game is like several years later wind up being only Gay content and nothing else, then its not really LGBT. it's G. it's a part of it.

If it was me who made those games, I'll either rewrite my description of my game and/or change some tags along just to make things more clear with the audience. but then again, even if I put them in bold letters, we might still have the same kind of complaints like the user's from LfA thread. But then again, from the years of seeing a shit load of porn game devs, they'll just follow the money from their patreon income to change what their game will become.

and at that point, it's not really a game by the developer's vision anymore. it's pretty much an interactive commission.

Honestly yeah, it's best you just make a game that you would want to play or pushes the kind of message you support and go from there. It's not much different then when an author say write what you know, if you are not interested in a specific genre or orientation then it will usually show in how you present it. Besides, it's hard enough to actually get devs that finish their games when they say they really like making them let alone when they start including things to listen to an audience or monetary support channel.

Probably one of the better ways to start out is to do a more bite-sized kind of game where you have a couple hours of play and the story gets wrapped up but could potentially be continued later. Then there's less risk of burnout if it's not as enjoyable a story or development in general while putting out something a potential audience can find and provide you with input. Some devs even go as far as releasing surveys to see what kind of content their audience is interested in or opinions on chars and the like to help guide them in what to focus on, but in the end it comes down to you doing what you want to do and the ones who enjoy it will find you.
