Yeah. We might pack some new hairstyles in the next update. But if not, then over time we are definitely going to have more.

Just found this and it looks like a great sim game! I'm sure this has already been asked, so just link me wherever it was answered, but what are the plans for the final state of gameplay? Full city sim like Animal Crossing, dating game elements, minigames, even just a fun sex sim with unique or customizable characters and dialogue, lots of ways I could see it going!

Yeah I don't think this games needs diabetes or heart disease. A wheelchair-bound Islander might be cute due to the princess carrying mechanic but it honestly reminds me too much of that "a very special episode" vibe from the 90s.

I DO like the idea of a NEET Islander (probably a raccoon or rat?) that never leaves her house normally and has a huge amount of clutter/garbage in their room.

decided to make and save presets for a bunch of characters today, but then the preset screen itself just broke. tried restarting the game but it's still broken. now I can't save or access the characters I saved, and I can't exit the blank presets screen without quitting the game. I also tried looking for wherever the character cards are saved, but couldn't find that either.

One of the card's names is invalid and has a (1) in it or something similar, probably. At the moment internals are very sensitive to names which is gonna be changed later.
Cards are located at \AppData\LocalLow\Stripey\GOMI\CharacterSaves\Preset

Sorry, my bad. I moved to having stored internal names and UID's, but forgot to like actually use them instead of the filenames.
