Sorry for the late post, i only come on here occasionally due to IRL stuff. I agree. I think I'd choose diula if i was the MC. She's both forward and innocent in a sense. She's pretty open about what she feels even if he doesnt exactly understand what she's feeling occasionally. i find it refreshing.
as for why i enjoy both diula and pyeka, while the specificity is what drew me in initially, i like both of them for their own reasons. Diula for what i mentioned above and pyeka because i find her seemingly genuine gentleness mixed with her apathy and even anger in some situations very interesting. She seems like the most genuine person in that kingdom despite carrying the most secrets. and her regard for people's being while not caring about their body after death is a stark contrast that i find very humanizing in a sense. since real people are a bundle of what seem like contradictions to outside observers.
Bro, no problem. You have nothing to apologize for. You responded when the time and mood were right. Ultimately, that's each of us's right and choice
Diula is like a child in an adult's body, and in a sense, she discovers the world around her in a new way. She learns to live differently, freeing herself from the destructive, manipulative influence of a bad person. Diula accepts that it's possible to live differently, to simply enjoy the little things without grandiose goals (especially not those of others). She also learns about herself and how she feels. This is also a new experience for her, largely due to her chance encounter with MC. She's not mediocre and quite straightforward, as you noted, and I like that about her too. The fact that she's a guardian worries me, because of the impending events related to the kingdom she belongs to.
What you said about Pyeka is interesting. I'm generally curious to learn how other people perceive events or characters, what they notice in them, what they overlook, or what they dismiss. A lot depends on the individual's perception, because there's no such thing as objective perception, only subjective perception of anything or anyone.
Pyeka seems like a more pleasant person compared to, say, Yakuu (at least at the beginning of MC's relationship with her), but I can't shake the feeling that her dark side hasn't been revealed yet, and one day something will happen. Something big. Maybe even betrayal and an attempted coup.
