I don't think there will be routes for all of them (though I hope Viridice and Lycalis get more routes than just the guardians), maybe the devs are trying to create a system where the side characters may or may not save the MC based on interest points or something.
I think the more likely thing is them having mini-routes (like routes that span at most 6 or 7 updates) or they will be like extra scenes with the main character (e.g enough interest points with the spider gets you a threesome with her and Regina).
In the past they have more characters and extra routes, the "Guests". They stop doing that because it was taking much of the time to make the main game and remove it from the game (it still can be download separately). maybe they continue it after the main game is finish. At last I home so, some of my favorites characters are "guests".
I would say that the interest points in those characters is only for having different dialog options when interacting with them
If you unpack the image folders for the game, several characters with interest points pop up in the "main" folder: Alryen, Dariea, Fierkel, Gemini gems, Helga, Iris (which i think is the veridice princess), Orphelith, Satiyoh, and Trish. As it currently stands, at the very least those characters are very likely to get a route in the future as Orphelith did and Helga and the Gemini will.
