Alright, fuck it I'm bored. While we wait for the update, anyone up for some literary analysis? K, give me your best attempt at understanding Lady Yakuu's character and layers.
A hard character to analyze, in my opinion.
She's commanding and de,anding of her slaves and servants. Obey, or she'll punish you.
And death is a big possibility with her.
There is more to her to what we see, plans and ambitions. That's my opinion of hwr.

You just came up with hardcore task lol. One of the most problematic parts about her is that while she, let's say, respects the obedience, at least to a level of keeping slaves fed and alive, at the same time she pretty much enjoys torture. These two traits kinda contradict each other. I guess the counter example here would be Makla, because she is pretty chill about all that dom stuff; just do what she tells and you'll be fine.
My theory is that came from her being a solder for most of her life. Army is a place where subordination is part of your routine, so as hierarchy, but I have absolutely no idea why would she like to destroy dignity of her living possessions. Any good slave owner should know better than to mentally break their slaves, making them inefficient workers and more susceptible to uprising since they have nothing to lose. To be fair, she might just uphold the terror environment to suppress her slaves, which isn't even enough as we already seen, but just taking lives is kinda out of this logic. If she wants good slaves, making them dead is a step in a wrong direction.
I believe there is not enough info about her to make a full picture, and those parts that we are given just picture her as a big bad. Even in foreign policy of her is just about doing bad things. All that vampire business in Timfalme seems pointless, just to do a bad thing.

alright let me give it a try... so Yakuu likes obedience, no brainer, but it's also true that, especially in the latest development, she IS willing to overlook occasional episodes of defiance as long as you do your job well enough, so instead of "obedience" maybe she put more value in "discipline" and rewards by giving more leniency and, maybe, more freedom of movement(?) making it more like a meritocracy. and i think this doesn't apply to only her slaves, but to homaspernia as a whole.
if there is one thing i am curious though, is what would she be like to someone she's deeply affectionate to, but that will be answered in due time...
So update is out! Makla, Croixelle and Eliette, an interesting cast I was hoping to see more of.
