With the phrasing "here's the thing" I was half expecting a video of The Thing from Marvel. Be careful hero, last time the update came here so quick the Hero took an arrow to the knee. For your own safety, wait a day or two.

Overall I think the least complicated would be Eliette. She emerged from heavens - no deep backstory. She is, as we can now tell, physically kind and altruistic due to divine nature - no skeletons in her closets. Her angelic nature might overdo itself, making her a bit grey, but that still refers to a simple trait.

Is the writing deteriorating even further? There must be more creative ways to express that the Queen is towering while the protagonist feels insignificant, or that their clothes are tight in the groin. The 'trapped in public inside her clothes ' scenario has been recycled six times already with little variation.
