I've seen some people speculate that she and her mom are vampires, Orphelith also has that one joke where she says her wine glass is actually full of the blood of an entire city so... maybe?
I believe they both are. Makes tons more sense when you think of Croi going out to help other vampires, and other things like Orpheliths vision, even in complete darkness.

Now that I think about it... we've seen them both out in the sunlight. Maybe not traditional vampires...?

And that wine glass... I think I said this before, but I feel that comment of "blood of an entire city" has relation to the (now outlawed) method of creating a blood onyx. About it requiring mass bloodshed.

Also why I feel it's relevant to that "poisoned" kingdom read about in the book, and the two others that she claimed to have slaughtered.

I feel like they are something related to vampires but not exactly. Like, even though we see them out in the day a lot, they're both surprisingly active at night, the queen prefers dark spaces, still not entirely sure if that was a joke with the blood in the glass, and even their eyes aren't like human eyes. They both have more slit pupils than round ones.

Also, the queen's as old as dirt. Like, I'm not sure if vampires are immortal in this universe like in other things, and also her age seems to be more related to her magic, rather than something like that, since we've meet other characters who are as old as the the Queen. But still.

But at the same time, we don't ever see Croix drinking anything blood like, the queen's line at it being the "blood of an entire city" could also just be a fucked up joke to match the MC's, and I can't even imagine how much blood it would take to sate two women (who if the queen has her way) who can be the size of skyscrapers on the regular. Like, enough blood to make Nyxmay explode, where would they even get that much blood that frequently? Are we missing the story about the Timfalme conspiracy theorist who goes on about towns disappearing without a trace randomly?

Anyways, I also think that they may be something related to vampires, but not directly vampires.

Croixelle on her path has vampire-like fangs in many of her cgs and portraits. And she also said that if she skips one too many meals she'll become dangerous to people around her, which sounds an awful lot like vampire's hunger.
That "joke" about glass of blood from Orphelith was most likely not a joke, but it probably was blood of another giantess. Extracting so much blood from regular-sized people would be too much of a logistical nightmare even for Timfalme.

I'd imagine Cygnia would be a willing donor lol

Is it? I could see it as like tribute that people pay in exchange for something, and the logistics are pretty simple depending on whatever magical shenanigans exist in the world.

Also don't vampires only drink human blood in this world? I don't think there's such a thing as a "human" giantess.

Do you honestly think the queen openly gathers people's blood, while not doing anything about general public's discrimination against vampires and other undead, to the point those species are leaving the kingdom in droves?
Does it go like this in your opinion:
"Those damn vampires might suck our blood, to hell with them!
Our glorious queen drinks blood of every citizen in Timfalme, I see nothing suspicious here. "

I also think the dots on Cygnia's boob look like vampire bite marks, at least to me. After all, she is as old the queen if not older, and her skin is so incredibly pale it's almost pure white.
It's a pretty shaky theory, but I don't rule out that Cygnia is Orphelith's vampire thrall.

I think it's mentioned with Sheina (encountering the two vampires) that animal blood is a substitute... might be misremembering though.

Well no, it's like saying organ donors and organ harvesters are the same thing. The Queen could offer a generous stipend + some healing potion or something to help recover lost blood in exchange for blood donations. That's not the same thing as random vampires kidnapping and draining people to death.

No route so far has mentioned blood donations, so it's pure speculation on your part.

Possible, I do remember also reading something similar. Guess we will have to wait and see.
Yes, Sheina said that they can live on any kind of blood, including animal blood. But she also said that their instincts push them to drink human blood, and that they can not resist those instincts after a while of not drinking human blood.

The glass that the Queen drinks from might be as tall as Cygnia. I’m not doubting that she might be a donor or thrall or something, but like, that’s still a lot of blood from somewhere else.

Course it could also be Croixelle that drinks Cygnia’s blood, or both the Queen and Croixelle are drinking the blood of monsters rather than from people or giantesses.

I think your scale is a little off cos that glass was smaller than Cygnia. Way smaller. Orphie is only twice a regular giantess, and the glass still fits in her hand. A glass twice the size of something a regular giantess would use would still be smaller than a regular giantess. Even in the illustration, it's obvious the glass ain't that big since our MC is right next to it.

You're right about me being way off on the scale, I was misremembering things. But also Orphie is still much bigger than twice a regular giantesses.

could be, idk. Tbf the scale has been inconsistent in a lot of the illustrations too. I just remember from one of the earlier dialogues her being twice the size(80% sure). I take text info to be more reliable than drawings cos it's sometimes hard for artists to get the right scale.
