A good mix of both for me, as long as you give a good openness reward for the longer ones IMO, kinda sucks reading through a bunch of dialogue just to get 1 openness! As you know though it sometimes can't be helped if you aren't popping up a choice for the player.
Shit... When I tested the lessons for typos/correct background displaying I never thought to check the openness gain. Honestly I didn't realize the non-choice only gave 1, even if you change it. Most of AJ's lessons have no choice so I''m kind of gutted. I'll keep this in mind in future and have the longer ones have a choice, even if it's just a simple "praise or scold her" kind of option, so that it's actually worth going through the longer lessons.
I also thought the same thing about mixing it, it's nice to have the longer lessons to give the girls some character but I do understand sometimes less is more, especially for those that just want to grind up the stats and just stare at the nice pictures while skipping through the dialogue.
Same here, however please don't give too much openess reward neither, expecially on repeatable lessons.
Agreed, I'll keep this in mind too for future lessons. Probably no more then 5 openness per, depending on the length, we'll see.

Reduced openness requirement for all lessons and made it so all lessons can be seen, regardless of openness, for girls that already have 100 openness.
Slightly adjusted openness gain/loss for lessons with choices. Lessons without choices are unaffected. (Might get round to remaking some of AJ's lessons to include choices for longer lessons but no plans as of yet.)
Cleaned up the "needLessonsSeen" code to prevent possible lesson breaking.
