Are you serious? There are hundreds of articles written about the benefits of positive reinforcement on behavior and productivity. This study has been done multiple times throughout the history of psychology. The results are easily available through a cursory internet search. Its been pretty well proven that positive reinforcement has a positive effect in almost any situation, dude.
Exactly! A positive attitude may not solve a every problem by itself but a negative attitude will just make it worse.

Imagine it was also Koda who brained Lina.
That is a terrifying thought. Haha, you thought I was the GOOD dev, but it was I Koda j/k

What Lina is getting is NEGATIVE reinforcement (Producing nothing and getting praise). I understand she is having issues, like every other femdom developer seems to conveniently have. But you don't reward people for not producing.
Yeah, I sympathize with Lina but not gonna lie: first, this isn't how positive reinforcement works, and second, there are limits. I understand that she has her issues, but praising when there's nothing to be praised is frankly just absurd and feels fake as hell. Not to mention quite patronizing, or least I'd view it as such if I were in her shoes.
Fair enough, encouraging Lina while she missed deadlines is not actual positive reinforcement, that's true. But calling her out and shaming her for failing isn't either. In fact, that is far more likely to force a person to quit altogether, wouldn't you agree? I get that people want to vent, I really do and I've done more than my fair share of it on these forums, but lets not pretend we are trying to help a dev while doing so. We are trying to make them feel bad for disappointing us, flat out.

Exactly, especially when Lina owes us nothing. We are not paying her any money in the first place. This is a present from Lina to the world and to the people who want to enjoy it.

I was praising Lina for the work she had done despite her issues. I praised her for the most recent and playable version of her game which I really enjoyed and I had never before had a chance to thank her directly, and I was praising her on her last post where she came forth with her issues and mentioned still working on her project and having done most of the work needed for the release. She mentioned she was waiting on a friend to do their bit of work so she could post another update. I am not praising the " 1day or 1week Lina didn't post anything" that just sounds stupid I am praising Lina for what has been done up until now and encouraging her with my comments for her to keep going. It's like telling someone who is running a marathon "keep going you can do it, you have come such a long way I am very proud of you!"

:giggle: :coffee: and with that I think the people here should refrain from venting their negativity and instead if having nothing positive to say, ask for an update on a project you are excited about.

how does encouraging help in particular? do you see any results of it?
it certainly has more results than disencouraging. There's plenty of studies that reflect this and it is general knowledge across the world that encouragement is one of the most important things for the development of people. If we use encouragement in the form of words to help people develop into adults, why wouldn't we use encouragement when we want a game to develop to its finished state or when we want literally anything to develop?

Well this thread is fucking unusable now apparently.
Feels like both sides need to log off and get a life.

Pretty sure she'll release something when ready to do so. Everyone has a life outside and many have personal issues that don't need to be spoken off.
