I do have the whole bias towards female characters, with the goal of 2:1 ratio as the general plan for Goddess Maker.

If Goddess Maker wasn't meant to act also as the definitive Ascension Fetish game, because of the absence of other games with the whole man-to-god approach, I would've planned out an even greater ratio of female characters over male characters in a differing type of project.
I was primarily making a joke, although I will also admit that calling a game "___________ Maker" usually leads to making certain assumptions.

But if you're gonna get so bent out of shape regarding your project's name as it relates to gendered vocabulary (ie, basically anything with a latin root), why not just call it "Apotheosis Through Chemistry" or something equally non-gendered?

I think you're just projecting based on not having the relevant information.

Well, glad to see you're adapting rather well with this merry colorful bunch:)
My project is something I'm very passionate about, so I'm more than willing to discuss it, despite it being an arrangement that is unpleasant.

In hence, people I can connect to, but finances is a lingering demon that holds me down and forces me to comply.

I haven't played it yet, but it looks very promising. I won't pretend to be the noble pirate, but I'll definitely support a more complete version of the game. It doesn't have to be v1.0 but enough to know its going in a good direction.

I like the fetish and glad to see it finally gamified.

Also, for your sanity's sake, I'd limit direct interactions with commentors. Some people are hoping to see devs slip in the comments to review bomb the game.

I have one question why the Protagonist can't maintain a normal size to control the direction of the Laboratory's development
I wouldn't mind if she stayed at the helm if her AI wasn't so stupid, she makes simply idiotic decisions and still wants to become a goddess

Is this a gameplay question? A character question?

It's self-evident that the partner character's AI is still in its basic form to provide the bare minimum of gameplay support, with more adjustments and personality coming along the way.

As for her character, her presence is undoubtedly human with flaws, as her power seeking urge and the increasing external influences drives her to make increasingly morally questionable actions, only deterred by the will of the player to keep her from truly becoming malevolent, whether through being bigger than her and/or showing compassion for her.

One thing that the "Lab of God" game section of Goddess Maker will trend to do really well is to give the characters exceptional character development prior to when the actual ascension route starts, so that the dilemma has been well established in advance.

I'm on the same page. Will definitely be keeping tabs on this one. All the best to dev.

I am overwhelmingly pleased to see you active and reading feedback for your game.

The joy of discovering and playing this game felt like seeing the sun rise after a long period of smog and awful weather. This game stands out from its contemporaries. I really find it delightful.

It seems you are actively interested in well thought out critical feedback. Especially keeping in mind the limitations of an early game build where things are mostly made for the bare minimum.

I really enjoy the feel of the economy in your game right now. It feels like it is hard to afford things at first, but as soon as you are able to make world changing serums you are rewarded handsomely in cash. This feels really good. At some point it feels like you have more cash than you can do anything with, and at this point I feel like adding "halo" products/goals is a good idea. Things that cost a lot of money, but add something enjoyable but inconsequential to the core mechanics of the game.

The research feels really good. Nothing takes too long, or is too difficult to obtain. And the joy from getting most new research is enough reward to pursue them.

The NPCs are currently unremarkable, but show promise. I feel like this is heading in the right direction.

The growth and maintenance mechanics are balanced, but the current time it takes to show you all the food you ate is too much. I don't want to wait 30 seconds seeing a list of food I or Allia ate.

I enjoy the presence of a balancing between who is in charge. It makes Allia feel more real. I would like to see more ability to fuck with her by subjecting her to bad gases, and have it be more impactful.

Manufacturing is a little tedious but the system works well, and I think a little bit of tedious is alright here. I would add a tab that has all available new constructions you can build, so you don't have to check each tab.

It's been a few days since I played, I came back to see what the discussion about this game was and was delighted to see the dev here. But this is all I can think about off the top of my head.

If you want suggestions separate from critique, I will also include them, but keep in mind that I am not trying to say you need to do these things, this is just things I'd like to see in the game, but I respect you as the artist.

I would like to see different paths to godhood. Is a goddess all knowing primarily, is she a nordic god, an Indian god, or a being with godly powers like the worlds all time greatest wizard or an eldritch creature.

I would like to see the ability to have a small cult that you interact directly with (interacting with individual people, sexing them), and a broader religion that forms that you interact with remotely (setting religious tenants, collecting donations).

I would like to see multiple girls you choose from to start the lab with.

I would like to see much of what you already have primmed in the game taken further. Such as lab policies. You already have many many great ideas and I would like to see the implemented.

It's good feedback, limited to what you know based off the game build.

-The economy like some of the other mechanics has been programmed in such a way where prices fluctuate based off external influences not yet implemented. Such things that will make the player feel like they are living in a world that reacts to "The Lab"'s decisions.

-The NPCS are brand new to the build you're playing so only their introduction was featured and not their prolonged external dilemma, like how Freda's whole coercive height obsession mechanic was completely absent.

-Much efficiencies are planned, as the game becomes more visually mature. Much of what's there is the solid foundation to be built on.

-These ethnic gods requests aren't part of my vision of Goddess Maker, as the gods are defined by how they ascend to omnipotence and not some cultural analogy. It's my hope to keep it personal to the individual character and their ethos.

-It's a three-part structure where you start at "Lab of God", then proceed to the Ascension Route based off fulfilling the conditions to reach that route, and finally based off the outcome of the Ascension Route, the interactive epilogue section starts where a god has been born and experience their consequences as they proceed to ascend to omnipotence.

-One game section under the tentative name "Friends of Faith" has the whole "Ascension through Worship/Indulgences" mechanic and the game section "Independence of Research" has "Ascension through Popularity".

-There's only going to be the one partner character given the embedded lore and development constraints. To offer a word of remediation, Ren'Py is a very easy engine to mod, so swapping image files can provide an option for alternative partners in the lab, especially if sized correctly and all.

Nevertheless, I highly encourage you to read my writings on Patreon and such, as I do my best to outline my vision.

Great wisdom has just been spoken

I must say that there is a looooot of text here, in this game
And it's also not easy words sometimes
Dev must work on fonts and backgrounds, I pity someone who will read everything without skipping, eyes will bleed

As I may be interested in a plot, story and everything else, game starting to be very boring and repetitive once you stop worrying about money
Well, good dialogues here and there
Good one

To clarify the first point, the game has a player-focused discovering manhood character development arc, as the player character starts as an empty unmotivated husk of a man, but through interactions and inner thoughts such as contemplation and paranoia, the player character's personality overtime will incrementally perceive themselves more in the ideal of a man, contrasted to the ideal of a woman.

Backgrounds are on their way, but I'm curious about what you mean by fonts? Do you mean like having a more wackier animated expression of the text or is that the specific high-definition font bothers you over long periods of time?

In order to break up the mundanity, I know that for some of the Lab Discussions, I plan to add diagrams and such to give it a more scientific feel, as opposed to staring at the partner character, but like with the rest of the quality of life art, it's on the backlog of further content grinding development.

Don't worry about the "Lab of God" game section being all about money, as it is the natural progression to overcome the mortal pressure of money during the "debt" arc; as after that, the game focuses more and more on substantial threats like the lab's reputation, government consolidation of territory, gigantic alien attacks, and so forth, whilst focusing also on the internal cooperative-competitive pressures within the lab.

In your game, the main thrust is on the textual component
So I recommend that you focus your attention on how you can diversify and embellish the game dialogs, descriptions and the like
So far I've just been playing a large window, not filled with anything particularly interesting, and a smaller window where the words just kept changing each other, in the same format, for several hours
At one point I was reading white text on a white background, and it took me exactly a few seconds, after which I hit “skip”

I can't say what exactly I want from you, but please make it possible to read your text without discomfort and boredom
Right now it's a big issue in my opinion

I’ll gather some additional feedback from my community members to see how to medicate it in-game because eye strain and the like varies from person to person.

Like for me, I usually take some breaks every once awhile to reset my calibrations and process what I had read before it becomes too overstimulating / mentally arbitrary.

It’s also getting soon to be allergy season, so symptoms of that can interfere with enjoying the gameplay.

There’s quite of diversification left to added to the day-to-day progress of the “Lab of God” section, so perhaps a type of incentivized “break time” sequence can be added like during the evenings, after work, to help the player calm down and recalibrate their attention to the screen.

Like in the form of an aromatic bath or a relaxing massage from the partner character.

Well, hope you get better - because it'll not be easy for all of us with the allergy season soon.
