VN - Ren'Py - Godson Remake [v0.2.1] [Cheesecake Studio]

This has serious potential...I never played the original game, so I'm coming at this from an objective standpoint.
The art and the characters are beautiful...no recycled character designs here! The writing is smart and witty, it's obvious that someone with an excellent grasp of English is behind this. However, the story won't win any originality awards, it's your usual suspect in that regard.
I only saw one animated scene and it was smooth and quite professionally done, although the angles could have been improved.
I was disappointed when I reached the end of this version, I wanted more! This is a game I enjoyed immediately...some games take an hour or two to get started...I loved this from the start, the writing and the art were enough to draw me in and I was a fish on a hook by the end.
I think I'm in love with the girl pictured on the front page [Vanessa I think]...a dark haired goddess if ever I saw one.
I am excited for this one, the developer is obviously talented and I am seriously thinking about subscribing to this dev on Patreon.
The potential is real.

Lighthearted tale with a hint of mystery.....

Overview: MC moves into a house....all the ladies act strange (sort of like sworn to secrecy).....but they are fun and goofy at times.....

Pros:

1. Writing is really fucking hilarious. Especially if you select various choices to further increase the absurdity (telling the pizza guy to fuck off along with Janice and Lorraine throwing barbs at each other was......bonkers lol!)
2. Music was decent along with h-scenes (i prefer more intimacy but its alright)
3. Renders are pretty good with THICC mommies and some new age tail.
4. plenty of hilarious choices

Cons:

1. Give me some foreplay! I would also like to understand the direction of the game...are we going into rom-com territory or something that's there just for the laughs...

Verdict: Certainly pick it up if you enjoy situational comedy that can easily become absurd with the correct choices. It kept me hooked for 1hr so I'm definitely looking forward to future work.

TL;DR A fantastic addition to the "real" milf genre on this site, and with a story that begs you to learn more about it. Your in total control of the character and their dialogue, projecting the personality you want to fit the game. With some better pacing for the mystery beats (maybe make the porch conversation with Myles happen later) this will be an amazing game to springboard off onto more projects from


While the version I have played (0.1.5) is short, it has some very unique designs.

The biggest boon to this game is its aim for a "realistic" approach to milfs. Instead of tight bodied 21 year olds being paraded around as 40 somethings, it aims for a more accurate representation. Now ofc, as this is a porn game the features are exaggerated but you feel the age of the characters.

The story is an odd one. It seems to have some fun stuff going on, but at the same time it's puts too many mysteries on the reader at once. Who is my dad? why are the women acting weird? why is my character confused as hell at the start, surely someone told him to go somewhere for a reason. What was with that opening scene about the milf video? Why are they also so loose with their clothes? While mystery is fun and keeps players wanting more too much just leaves them writing off the story and tending to go "OK, guess its porn logic" and move on. Alternatively if a person was thrust into that level of weirdness their priority would be figuring out wtf is going on, but our MC kinda just goes "k moving on".

The dialogue options are great, really giving you a sense of character, even if your choices can sometimes cause emotional whiplash it's all on you. Nothing groundbreaking yet, but the way the dialogue offers slightly different ways to get a message across leaves it feeling like you can put your spin on things without missing content or outcomes.

I think wrapping up a mystery before delving into a new one would help the story. The over arching "why am I here should be sorted out quickly or the why cant I see them should be" having both hanging as grand mysteries feels overwhelming.

Even with those gripes Godson Remake is fantastic, and the renders + freedom of choice in dialogue make this a must play for anyone into proper milfs (think more dreams of desire mom than Big brother's).

This game is definitely one to watch, and something that I'll keep an eye on but something that will take a few updates before I come back too as the story is just too shrouded for me to invest into right now.

Dont like paywall locked content. I would gladly pay and buy game with full content, but its too little content by now to pay.

I think there's not much to say except its a good game

As a 3D modeler myself I see all the work and im very impressed,
I like that, when the MC grab someone the flesh is grabbed too, (don't know if its clear enough) For exemple, when th MC ask the first Milf to hug with her leg wraped up around him we can actually feel the heavyness of her body,

Anyway all to say that its going to the right direction, story wise and visually

This could be one of the really great VNs. Still too early to say definitively, but what's here so far is really top notch. I think I can see where the story is going , which is a well used trope, so its not easy to pull off and still keep it fresh.

Renders are very good. Animations not so much. The real cherry-on-top, however, is the realism of the models. Finally, some true human proportions (ok, perhaps a little too thic for me, but certainly much closer to real life than most works on F95).

My only complaint so far is that the story could be a bit faster. This is not a slow-burn issue , but more of a credibility issue - like the MC should be pulling someone aside and demanding to know WTF is going on.

All in all - I'm giving it 5* review for now, subject to a reevaluation as we get deeper.

Well, this game has all the data to become a huge hit.

But as the developer said in the introduction, he wait for support to get the job done. Patreon support.
Let's hope it will be serious and the game won't be labeled „abandoned” at some point.

But...back to game: womens looks pretty good AND pretty real, dialogue have substance, you can even put yourself in the shoes of the main character and be ecstatic with the milfs around you.
A little more dialogue in the sex scenes wouldn't hurt. Maybe even kinkier as the script progresses.
You can see hard work and attention to detail, like i said the chicks actually look like real women which is awesome imo.
I look forward to seeing the next update. It's worth a try and those who can, support it.

I haven't played the OG and only played the recent remake. I have to praise the models (which is currently only the Landlady and her daughter). A realistic aged woman.

The remake is definitely an early demo but its very promising. Along with the amazing models are great animations, with sound as well .

The story is a little weird but I think it's mostly for demo purposes to show off the animations. Will definitely revisit after updates

The MIlf looks good, The dialogue is good, and you can choose how macho you are ....no more pussy shit that you act like a virgin for the game.
The woman has an actual interest in you...I hope this game goes big and you do the same work you did in feature versions.

I believe this game is a must-play

I rarely put a review on a game, but this one deserves.
If these are the premises, this is going to be a huge and arduous project. Dialogs, animations, renderings are very well developed. The stories with the two women of the house look promising and alluring.
There is only one huge, highly probable risk: this game will be abandoned. In which case I'd understand, because it will be hard to keep high quality throughout the game, untill the end.

This is for v0.1 remake. Very well done, catches immediate attention of milf lovers. Well made seduce quest with buxom milf. Some people complain on many choices to crawl trough for short demo, but this actually adds spice, and makes "dialog skippers" to read them.
Concerning points, this developer in particular, was not consistent in the past works. None of the projects have been finished, but abandoned, so taking one star for that.
On positive side, we can trace how dev improves his technique comparing to past projects, not only in renders but in narration as well , so let's maintain moderate optimism that remake will see continuation.

the models ( characters) looks really good ( Thicc and hot as hell) and the animation is pretty good also i play the game am is worth it but if you don't believe me you can give it a try I'm sure you like it compare to others that dont have animation or the models looks like Frankenstein . 4.5 out 5 star

Updated review for v0.15:
Latest update is unfortunately disappointing. There is only currently a ‘0.15’ and not even a full chapter yet of content out. There is basically 15 minutes of gameplay.

Latest update shows that the pace of development for this game will be quite slow, with about 200 hundred renders and some animations here or there every 2 months. So probably around 1200 renders. Game size is ridiculous considering how short the game is.

There’s nothing in the writing that makes it worth coming back to. The dialogue is still drawn out for no reason and does nothing with it. There are way too many dialogue choice with no point to them and just serves to add to the game’s playtime.

The dev has also locked away content under some bullshit ‘good’ tier which is just annoying as fuck.

What’s more is the disturbing trend of the dev abandoning 3 projects in the past, including this one. High risk of abandonment for this one too…

This is a remake but I’ll review it like a new game demo.

Renders look really good. It’s using Blender I think or some other shader and lighting, making it look different and way better than most new Daz based VNs.

The models look really hot, especially the MILFs.

There’s not much story here and the starting premise is the standard “parent dying and moving in with hotties”.

The animations are ok - if this is Blender, I expect them to be smoother and less choppy than what the game currently has.

Here’s my advice to the dev to consider:

1. File size is concerning given how short this is and some compression for images is needed.
2. The sex animations need to be improved and have dialogue during them. Also needs a cum shot scene to end them because they’re ending awkwardly right now.

From what I can see in the current story, there seems to be a lack of planning for this one and it’s unclear what the story elements will be in the future. Could also be partly why the dev has had a lot of cancelled games in the past.

The game’s description and Marnie’s verbose word salad just adds to the vagueness of the plot.

Seems like Marnie would take time to progress to fucking stage but then the game lets you fuck her on the first day.

It’s fine if the dev is just going for a porny VN with basic plot because alot of games are like that and it works for them. No need for complex minigames or epic saga stories. But if that’s the case, then I think a lot more fetishes, women are needed.

If dev doesn’t want to invest resources into improving animation fluidity then I think having more fetishes and women and sex situations would justify having static or choppy animations for most VN players.

Let's just say this has become my new favorite. The MILF Character design 10/10, animations 10/10 (both position and quality), though I wish there were more, each scene can't be just one or two 3-5sec looped animation, mix it up with more angle variations and put renders in-between to make the experience feel longer.

I left a review back on October 9th 2021 for the game which you can still find below in the spoiler. I left five stars and hoped that everything went well and here we are years later well after I forgot about the game because someone liked my review, only to find out the game was abandoned and now being remade. Happy as can be I downloaded the game and found myself playing something that, had it been its own game named something else I would’ve given it pretty much the same review as Godson (The original). Great design, great models, keep up the good work you know the drill. But since it proudly, and loudly, proclaims itself a remake and therefore the successor to the previous game, I feel that comparing it is not unfair. So, I re-downloaded Godson (The Original) just to make sure my memory is correct and here is my review.

Starting off with the positives, this is something that I have not seen yet from these games, whether for good or bad I don’t quite know, but the beginning to the game features the usual naming process that then allows you to use your full name or your initials for your name. Like I said, I don’t know how useful or needed this is but the fact that its something new and the developer was willing to try it out was novel enough or me to put it in this section. The sex scenes, while basic, would do the trick if I wanted to. A few more variations and angles would be nice but this is sufficient for now. Especially the final sex scene for this update, very, very nice. The model for Marnie, the head Milf of the game so far, is improved from the last game. Thicc-er and more aged, which makes sense given the title.

The other models give me nightmares.

Going into the game something I did notice but didn’t think much of it is how the models changed for the MC and Jennifer (The Daughter). Jennifer looks to be another model for Megan Fox, which was the model from the first game, but now she has another model that I don’t know is supposed to look like her or is inspired by her but either way she looks like one of the wax sculptures that just doesn’t match but you can tell it’s supposed to be someone you know. It’s not pleasing for me to stare at is what I’m saying. But in comparison to the MC, she is Aphrodite incarnate. I know this isn’t the most factual or provable statement because beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that jazz but I look at him and I don’t want this guy to be happy or within 500 yards of an elementary school.

The writing is pretty much the same standard quality you find anywhere else, the renders are standard for what you would find anywhere else nowadays, sandbox so far is gone which while I’m not an enemy of sandbox, the sandbox in the original game sucked so this is a good decision. Just overall like I said if this was its own standalone game I would be hooping and hollering but as a remake I just can’t help but feel “meh”. Fucking sucks man. The only reason I downgraded the review from a 5 star to a 2 and not a 1 is because it is not a shit game worthy of disdain but just a game that should’ve been another.

Lets start with the voice over character...magnificent. It actually sounded like a conversation a New Yorker would have. Models? Fantastic. Of course, seeing that this is the first version, I'm guessing that the game will be a slow burn...which is ok because the story so far is actually pretty good. Would love to see the models in animated scenes to see if the quality remains. Fingers crossed, lets hope for the best.

I don't like this game. I was hoping for an incest game, but even with the incest patch it did not feel like one at all. One thing that I did not like is that you are stuck with the default character names like Marnie, Jennifer, and Katie, and can't rename the females to something like "Mommy", "Older Sister", and "Baby Sister". But even if you could do that, another thing that I strongly disliked about this game is that none of the characters look like they are related to each other. Jennifer actually looks just like Megan Fox. It's annoying to play a game that isn't a parody and see models that look exactly like real life celebrities. It really takes away from the immersion. This is a sandbox style game with really ugly room navigation arrows. I thought that the sandbox style of this game was more pointless and annoying than necessary or desirable. You leave your room, you try clicking on a ton of different rooms before you realize that you need to talk Marnie in the kitchen, then you click on a ton more different rooms before you realize you need to talk to Katie in her bedroom, and so on. The renders are all boring. Marnie's face, facial expressions, and lackluster eyes actually irked me a little. Katie is almost a total cutie, because she's young and has a nice body, but her face is a bit dull too. There was a dry hump scene in the kitchen with Marnie that did absolutely nothing for me. It was about as sexually exciting as if the MC were to wipe off the kitchen counters with a rag. Even if I were to treat Godson as a roommate, landlord, or adopted family type of game, it was boring and not at all stimulating. Nothing about the characters, story, situations, or dialogue was interesting. The adjective that came to mind when trying out this game was "infantile".
