I know this is contrary to what most people seem to request, but I'm looking for some games with good sex scenes and no animations. I've been dabbling with developing a game for a while now, and I'm slowly getting the hang of Daz3D. For the last couple of months I've been trying to animate a sex scene, and came to the conclusion that (a) I suck at it, (b) in the time it will take me to learn proper animating I can probably finish a couple of games and (c) I'm not even sure I like animations in most games. For me it's really an all or nothing thing, it's either great or really off-putting.

In any case, I would like to see how some popular games handle sex scenes without animations, preferably reasonably modern (after animation became an option), with 3D models and with a variety of renders and positions per scene. Most of the non-animation games I've tried have relatively short sex scenes with only a few static renders, especially hentai and older games. I'm interested in the general flow of the scene, how descriptions and interior monologue are handled and the balance between renders and text. I realize there is no magic formula to this, and it depends on the skill of the artist and writer, but I would like to see what talented people can achieve with static images, and maybe get some general principals on how they did it.

Just for information, I don't like rapey games or extreme fetishes, don't mind NTR and can stomach incest.

Thanks in advance.

you'll be far better off looking for examples in comics rather than these games, that's where you'll see how to convey movement, time, intensity and so on with still images. VNs do a really bad job at it. also preferably look for anything else than hentai/doujins as they're even worse at it than VNs. the nonsexual japanese comics might be a good try but I'd rather go for 70s/80s european classics. - but of course it also depends on the style you want.

the bigger issue you should focus on here is storytelling through images. that's the real problem you need to solve for yourself. and when you understand that it'll also solve your sex scenes.

ideally your visual storytelling should be good enough that you could lose the dialogue and still everyone would understand the strory. which will free your text to convey another level of information, thus creating multiple levels and depth. in the games we now have the visual storytelling tends to be nonexistent, so that text is forced to explain what the image should've already told.
