So when Noriko asks Saito for cunnilingus, we're in femdom.
When Noriko offers herself on the bed in her mother's room, she gives saito permission to do so. Femdom too
When Noriko finds herself in the bedroom with saito at the end, she takes charge. Femdom again.
To be fair, You are limited to whatever Godot builds when it comes to game builds, I don't know the full extent of compatible OSes but all of the actual "building" is handled by Godot itself.
Honestly I would just use Wine here. Not much reason to not in this games case.
why shoebox yourself in? when you can become adept to a more versatile engine, and be able to make different kinds of games in the future? If all you wanna do is a copy and paste game for the rest of eternity, sure why not
I get that you're shaping the story the way that you enjoy it. Also that you'd rather focus on paying customers instead of leeching pirates. And, if you were highlighting either point, I'd tell you "go for it".
However you are not doing either here. You're calling people stupid by proxy, by expecting them to swallow such blatant bullshit. And Marcellus Wallace doesn't like to be called stupid by anyone, except by his dominatrix Mrs. Wallace.
You're implying that a more dominating behaviour would be "less realistic". People do crazier stuff in real life. Way crazier.
And this whole talk about reality is a red herring; porn games are all about fantasies, the opposite of an accurate representation of reality. And it's specially weird in a game where the protag undergoes a time loop.
A dom doesn't offer herself to the sub either, as relinquishing control over herself is a power reversal. She rewards the sub for a good work, allowing him/her to get some pleasure as he/she services the dom.
When Noriko finds herself in the bedroom with saito at the end, she takes charge. Femdom again.
If taking charge was all that was necessary for a domination dynamic, all couples out there would be dom/sub couples. You're grasping at straws and odds are that you know it.
And then, in the end, for those who aren't happy... and who complain that they won't be playing the game. I find it hard to understand. Pirates who don't play my game anymore.
You could be honest and say "I don't care about what pirates say"; or you could be polite and pretend that you care. Feigning stupidity through an "I don't understand", for the sake of passive aggressiveness, is the worst of both worlds.
Past that, you're framing it wrong. What people are saying here boils down to "this game isn't even worth pirating, let alone paying". I think that it's a bit too harsh but it is not the stuff that you can brush off with "lalala I'm not listening lalala those are pirates lalala" like you're doing.
And that is not just about Noriko's femdom-but-only-in-name route. Look from the players' PoV what your engine decision means: huge delay for a release that is mostly uninteresting, with new "arbitrary" requirements, and more bugs than the Amazon jungle and Oz combined. Pirates might be fairly vocal about it, but the paying players are likely just dropping the game - "I already paid for this, I'm not wasting my time with feedback".
Also consider that your current paying customers are likely watching your meltdown, and your approach towards criticism, reconsidering if they should keep supporting your game.

You don't "shoebox yourself in" by completing a VN in engine made for making VNs. It doesn't prevent you from picking similarly appropriate engine for your next project, if your next project happens to be something other than a VN.
I mentioned this some comments ago; I got the same issue under Mint. The typical solution is to compile the executable for a slightly older version of the system, he's likely doing it for Ubuntu 24.04 (numbat), while 22.04 (jellyfish) would be saner.
That's yet another thing that he wouldn't need to care about with Ren'Py. Oh well.
If you have WINE installed, the game runs as bad as natively, but not worse. Alternatively, if you don't want to dirty your system with it, VMing Ubuntu is always an option.

Or even a future visual novel. It's not that the choice of Ren'Py over Godot makes more sense for VN in general, but the fact that this choice was made AFTER the project was already started in Ren'Py, that makes it a terrible choice.
Nah, c'mon guys, some of you are acting childishly and stupidly. Who cares about little dissatisfactions here or there in femdom route. If you're SO obsessed w/ being dominated, get out of ya houses and go find REAL girls, then. Stop poluting the critical sense in the comments section with your pooch desires, specially if you don't even PAY for the game subscription.
Technically, it does, since RenPy comes with lot of pre-built stuff aimed at minimizing effort needed to produce your typical VN. If you opt for a more generic engine, you have to effectively reinvent the wheel, implementing this kind of framework on your own (or do things manually and the hard way) It's just... not really worth the effort, unless you're intent on producing some sort of weird hybrid rather than typical VN. (and even when it comes to these, it's not like people haven't made even fairly complicated RPGs in RenPy)

Honestly, I've played several ren'py games that just should've used another engine. It works fine if you make a simple VN, but start getting just a bit ambitious with features and that thing will choke on itself. Rogue like evolution is a good example of this, it has absolute atrocious performance. Maybe it's bad programming skills, maybe it's bad understanding of how the engine works, I don't know, but it's common enough.

You may not like my version of femdom, but it's the one that comes closest to reality. If I stick to the definition, it's a practice or relational dynamic in which a woman assumes the dominant or power role over a partner, often male, who adopts a submissive role. This dynamic can manifest itself in a variety of contexts, including sexual relations, role-playing and other aspects of daily life.
With the utmost respect, I don't want to pile more stress on you because people don't understand the level of effort it takes to develop a game. However, this is one of the rare times I have to be candid with how I feel.
I should preface this by saying that I am a Patreon supporter as well. I support this game because I like it. Asami and Yasuka are my favourites. I'm not a pirate but I come here for the community. So here goes:
It's not about liking your version of femdom, it's the fact that it's not even a version of femdom at all.
I'm going to compare the Femdom Path to material that is already in the game so you see where I'm coming from. I'm labelling them each with descriptions as well.
Please take a look at Noriko's Maledom path. Saito is dominant and imposes himself on her.
I'm confused why you didn't do this the other way around for Noriko's Femdom path in this update?
The only time Noriko imposes herself similarly on Saito takes place at the beginning of the Femdom Path, where she had Saito on his knees. This already happened before this update.
Where is this attitude from Noriko in the update? It's nowhere to be seen.
Sakuya's path is more of a Femdom Path than Noriko's Femdom Path and it's not even labelled as such. Look how she imposes herself on Saito and is very possessive.
What you believe is femdom isn't femdom, it's an ordinary dynamic. There is no "power role" going on here; I'm afraid that initiating or being first doesn't automatically mean you're dominant.
Giving permission is not femdom - it is consent. At no point did I ever feel Noriko took charge of Saito.
The Noriko Femdom pre-update and Sakuya examples I outlined above is what femdom actually is in the context of your game.
Currently I feel Noriko's "Femdom Path" should be relabelled as a "Love Path". Femdom is a selling point and people don't take kindly to being mislead, given what you showed in Noriko's Femdom Path prior to this update.
As a Patreon supporter, I do feel like I've been personally mislead and am consequently saddened by this update.
I hope I was constructive with my criticism. Enjoy the rest of your day.
Yup - even for a hybrid, it's probably wiser to use a specialised engine. The pre-built frameworks might not do everything for you, but at least they'll do half of your work; with a generic engine you're doing everything by yourself instead.
(By that I don't mean that Godot is a bad engine. It's simply not the right tool for the job. At least for now.)
