do you get a notification saying that your gpu doesn't support vulkan when trying to play the game, if so it might be drivers not being up to date, or your gpu might be too old to be able to play the game. that, and due to an engine change ren'py to godot (which is just idiotic since some people will have to updgarde their hardware to play, and all it was really for was to have animations which are'nt needed to make a good porn game, LoSeSb being an example) it's unstable, such as crashing when you skip

Since everyone on here is posting computer questions now, when I play games like this, either renpy or godot, I sometimes get a lot of black sorta blocky pixelation on the screen occasionally.
I've updated my driver but it doesn't fix it, and it doesn't always happen. It also never happens on mainstream steam games or anything like it, mostly just games from here.

Any idea what it could be?

The issues you do write here may be in your GPU cuz it's outdated as a GPU from 2016 i think and it only has 6gb of V Ram it can also be your monitors fault you have 3 of them and 2 are in 60hz and 1 59hz. I can recommend you to get like some 144hz display or a 120hz trust me you will see the differents. Your ram can also be the problem if you have XMP use it or if you did try disabling it and try again.

Could also be that you are just missing some C++ packs that you don't have installed.

The constant crashing, the super compressed videos in place of the animations, and the changes to how the story are handled...

I remember in the old versions, how you could view every route and see what you needed to progress them. Now it looks like you can only see one at a time?? It doesn't even look like you can progress other routes if you start on another one. What gives? I understand swapping to a new engine if it benefits the game greatly, but all the changes here so far seem like a massive downgrade in quality.

I really hope you either manage to fix these issues or go back to the old engine. I really enjoyed the story in this game, and it being in such a sorry state is saddening.

what gpu do you have, as it's likekly that your gpu is too old to be able to play the game as it doesn't have support for the vulkan version it uses, and if that's the case you'll need to get a newer gpu that does support the version of vulkan it uses

This game was decent up until the start of Noriko's story. Her story is literally about how dumb and evil she is. The idea of her paying bullies to beat you up while your mom is so desperate for money that she's willing to become a sex worker is insane. Not to mention all that stuff with her and Akira.

your saves are incompatible with this update as the dev made the idiotic choice to change the engine from ren'py to godot (and all it was really for was to add pointless animations to the game, since a porn game doesn't need them to be good, LoSeSb being a good example)
also your saves are now located at C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Godot\app_userdata\Goodbye Eternity\saves

Don't really get all this hate about the new engine. It was indeed not the best decision to change it, I agree, but it just happens to be on the initial releases of a game, that it is buggy. Considering the change of the engine, we should view this update as initial release. This will all be fixed soon (I really do hope that) and you'll get your game even with better animations now. The only problem I see, are the save files. I personally do not really want to play it all over again... especially with the crashing when skipping.
Maybe adding a "Skip to new content" button, like it was done in some updates before, would be nice
