your saves are incompatible with this update as the dev made the idiotic choice to change the engine from ren'py to godot (and all it was really for was to add pointless animations to the game, since a porn game doesn't need them to be good, LoSeSb being a good example)
also your saves are now located at C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Godot\app_userdata\Goodbye Eternity\saves

Don't really get all this hate about the new engine. It was indeed not the best decision to change it, I agree, but it just happens to be on the initial releases of a game, that it is buggy. Considering the change of the engine, we should view this update as initial release. This will all be fixed soon (I really do hope that) and you'll get your game even with better animations now. The only problem I see, are the save files. I personally do not really want to play it all over again... especially with the crashing when skipping.
Maybe adding a "Skip to new content" button, like it was done in some updates before, would be nice

No, the game was in development for years, worked fine, and for no reason whatsoever, other than greed, changed engines to a worse one and now has issues where it didn't have before.Don't really get all this hate about the new engine. ah yes, we don't have the right to complain about a broken update with an engine change that was really on made to add animations that weren't even fucking needed, while also stopping some people from being able to play the game without spending hundreds to thousands to get a better gpu so that they can keep playing it, yeah your totally right no one has a right to complain about a dev's idiotic decisions. I didn't said a thing about your right to complain. You can complain whatever you want, it's just useless imo. And I don't get your complains about expensive GPU. I have two devices, which are both really bad. One of them doesn't even have an separate GPU. And it runs well, but ok.
You guys are mad for real hahaha, are you patrons of that dev or what? I don't see a situation where you don't pay money to that dev and complain that hard. I also don't see why you all so agressive towards me. Like chill, dude. It's not me, who broke you favourite game xD

pal the game needs a computer with 13 year old cards, you don't need to buy an rtx.
and they are not even hundreds of dollars the GT 1030 a 8 year old card is worth about 70 dollars and has vulkan support.
or if you have a processor from around 2014-2015 they probably have integrated graphics that already support vulkan.
and i'm not defending the dev, the engine change seems stupid to me, godot is a very good engine but i don't see the need to use it to make a pure visual novel.
but this complaint is stupid, if there are people with pc's with 10 year old components it's about time for an upgrade.

I'll admit that I exaggerated the cost (as at scorptec you can get a 1650 for about 250 aud), the point still stands that people shouldn't have to upgrade their pc to be able to play it, though as you've also said if your running ddr3 era or early ddr4 (ddr4 is 10 years old as it came out in 2014) components it would be good to upgrade especially if your running ddr3 era parts.

I know this is going to sound "bad", but unless you bought the game and now it stopped working, you don't have to be complaining so much, you didn't get ripped off, you didn't lose money, etc.
and before someone comes up with something else, I'm not saying that pirates can't complain or give their opinions but come on they haven't lost anything to start crying complaining and accusing dev of certain things (for someone "greedy" they did change the engine very fast, other people would stay more months giving us the same content or restarting the development).
those people should just look for games that do support their old pc, and definitely think about upgrading their components.
It's worth keeping in mind that at least some people on here will have bought the game, I personally bought it on Itch.
Obviously there are going to be a lot of pirates on here but based on discussions in other threads I think a fair few people just use this site as a forum and don't download the pirated releases.

yes, I know and those people have all the right to complain if the game doesn't work anymore.
but well maybe I'm wrong but I doubt that that the majority of the people who has a pc with components more than 10 years old has bought the game.

Let me take a step back and summarize something for everyone:
We're talking about dev that communicated on discord, that fixing bugs (the same ones that some members of our community already found solutions for) will take at least couple of months.
Talking about adding a skip button, by the dev, that could not figure out, how to make an "OK" button hiding the notification.
Yeah, better to not get ahead of ourselves.

Is the new content that was added in 0.9 NOT a showcase of those 'new better' animations?
The ones that contain those ugliest in whole game animations from side view, that borderline look like from different game?

game only crashes if you hold control to skip text or if you just keep clicking too fast to skip text while animations are playing too as long as you don't do that you shouldn't have any issues assuming you're on pc. That's my experience at least

Welcome to games in development honestly I was suprised that previous saves worked most games that aren't full finished like this one don't have compatible saves between versions so stop being a drama queen.
