VN - Ren'Py - Grandma's House [Part 5 v0.80] [Moonbox]

Updating from 3 stars to 4 for the following reasons:

Renders have improved since the first updates, with the renders from v0.13 and upwards taking a huge leap in both quality but also its content.

There's still two points in the game that somehow seem to bother me.

First one would be the fact that everything's going way too well. Any sort of disagreement like with Liz is being settled in the next update. There's some yort of upbuilt with both Shizuka and maybe Tanya but unlike Shizuka, Tanya is not as present.

Second one would be some characters like Sophia, Isabelle and sometimes Cat acting too naive and young, making it seem too much into Loli genre. Not sure if that's intended but it definetily gives me some unrest.


The game has some issues.
1st - Sometimes the renders make no sense.
Sometimes the women's hair become larger or move even though they did not move at all. Look at Fiona's masturabting scene. Her hair goes inside her body or her arm just happens to go through her leg.
Some characters also seem to float.

2nd - The penis is just way too big man and it sometimes looks like it's changing its size.

3rd - The renders feel way too static. What I mean is Nana's hair when she wakes up.


Pros of the game:
Variety of fetishes (male-/femdom, urination, spanking & S&M, squiritng) while also having multiple character types (innocent, freaky, mature, black, Asian, Arab, gingers [OH THE GINGERS!]) and it's quite simply structured so it's less of a "your choices matter" but more in a "dude just have fun and don't think about the consequences too much".

I'd say solid. It's fun to play but it had to be said about the malfunctions of the game.

Ok finally found some time to play this game Overall its got a great flow to it and proper slowburn where needed. The choice of locking out the cop because a player like myself doesn't like femdom I do not thing is right instead of bringing in a "new" girl to replace her I guess is fine and all but wouldn't a separate path non dom path be just as easy and also allowing her to still be in the game for those that liked her model? The next issue I had was the unrealistic size on the petite girls. Prime example the mc's cousin Cat. her ass is almost 3 sizes bigger than any petite girl I have ever seen. Now if she was fat instead of skinny ehhhh it might pass but from the waist line up that ass doesn't match her body type. Noe I can understand some of the milfs having big butts large tits and such but they are not little petite girls and even worse not gymnast who are toned and thin from head to toe. My last issue was with Priyas sisters story line. She should have taken the offer to go with them after the scene with her and the mc. if you chose the option given and with what Priya said that is going to create problems for the sister in a few months... IRL much bigger problems and it would not be pretty.
I'm not telling anyone how to write their game but after the scene between the sister and the mc she should have just told the mc she would take Priya offer and left with them instead of putting herself into what will be a bigger nightmare when the truth comes out.
So in my honest opinion I would keep the big ass stuff to the milf and chubby girls. Give players a option to not have femdom but a more romantic path with the cop instead of just do or do not and forcing non femdom players to drop her completely. And as of this update last but not least a option that Priyas sister doesn't actually go through with the wedding.
As I already said the game is pretty good but has a few glaring problems that could easily be fixed and would have gotten a much higher rating from me.

Truly enjoying this VN so much. Not only is the story so much fun and exciting, but the renders are wonderfully sexy. I like to always play a few updates before rating and such, and this VN is definitely one I would highly recommend. Being a fan of harem/multiple LI VNs this one definitely spoke to me. Throw in some smoking hot LIs and this is definitely a very fun one to play through. So many options, you can choose who you like, who you don't and even which kinks you may want to explore.
So just want to thank the Dev for all the hard work, and I am very excited to see where this goes going forward.

Summary:
Grandma's House is not the most complicated story I've ever played, but as of 0.04 it's proven to be very good at developing an intriguing cast of ladies. The renders and sex scenes are mostly hot, and thank god there are some good kinks (mdom and watersports being my personal faves) to break up what would otherwise be a little too saccharine of a game. It is in danger of veering into too many side-character territory, though.


Pros
- It looks good
- Great variety of characters in personality and body type for MC to interact with
- simple but competently written story that doesn't get in it's own way.

Cons
- Getting real close to overload with female characters. I would love if the MC never met anybody else new and started to work on making the family a little more depraved.
- Related to the first, I don't mind a slow burn, but other than side characters, so far there is almost no momentum towards any of the main characters.
- Nothing wrong with some romance and head pats and what not, but here's to hoping some of the 'fam' is into a kink or two.

Right now this game for me is a 3.5 which I am rounding up due to the great potential it has. Only time will tell if the MC will soon be the man of the house enjoying three generations of fun, or if 30 more breakfast chats are in the future.

Either way, best of luck to the dev.

(edit: most of the review is still accurate, but I was waiting to see how the MC would end up, and unfortunately he has entered into full Marty Stu territory. Terrified of other dicks being in the same state, and basically just a full on pathetic worry wort who knows that any other man in the picture would result in him immediately losing all his women. His terror of competition is so extreme he almost has a panic attack when he thinks a woman is asking him for a threesome. Of course, he expects all his women to share him amongs 20 other ladies, because he's a narcissistic asshole.)

Still, if you ctrl skip most of his dialogue, the individual sex scenes are mostly hot. I'm just going to dock a half star from the 3.5 to 3. Still worth some playtime as a fap game.

The dev is also super reliable with their update schedule, and updates have good amount of content.

(Edit: This game just seems determined to drop stars, and it's a real shame, because the dev actually writes mdom sex scenes incredibly well. Unfortunately, that is the only thing they seem to write well...with 95% of the rest of the text being saccarine filler that will make you want to puke like you ate a weeks worth of candy corn in one hour. The stuff with the redheads, and occasionally with family and gf is still tolerable. Everything else is just auto skip garbage. This guy needs to find an editor, tout suite.)

This game is an example of how to take a simple premise, and make it interesting enough to build a story around it.

The general plot is nothing mind breaking, but it doesn't need to be, it's simplicity allows the story to focus on the character interactions, which are great, the funny parts are funny, the serious parts are done with the seriousness they deserved, definitely an entertaining read

As for the character models I have to praise the dev for creating such a diverse cast, there is something for everyone here, all the girls are attractive in their own way, and written good enough that you enjoy the scenes with them, regardless of the sex.

And speaking of sex, there is plenty already to keep you interested, the scenes are hot thanks to some creative angles, the MC not being a douche is also a bonus here.

Overall a fun game, I definitely recommend this one

Story is very poor. Character depths are very poor. There is also no animation on h scenes. There are too much girls but they have no characters. They are just empty. When the story and characters are very bad. You can't enjoy the sex. If the only thing i want is sex, i would watch porn instead of playing these games. I hope I was able to explain the problem. Clearly has great potential, could possibly become one of the best games on the site if handled correctly.

The only issue I really see at the moment is that the game size is 4.8gb ALREADY, and there is very little sexual content with the "main" girls, which is a shame. I downloaded it expecting a good amount of content due to the file size, and I guess there is, but you just go around sleeping with side characters who are all basically "omg mc ur so hot pls fuck me".

One of my favorites here and have been following for a while now. Figured about time to give a favorable review since I've gotten a decent amount of enjoyment from this. The models may not be everyone's cup o' tea but other than that I'd suggest give it a try.

This game is magnificent, and believe me it has the most diverse set of models in any of the games you will find here, and MoonBox (by using some sort of black magic) made them all incredibly attractive both in the personality and looks. The story is an overdose of wholesomeness that is very well written.

Maybe the only downside is due to the huge set of characters the screen time of every one is not enough, but it's what it is if you want to keep the diversity.

The story is super simple and I actually appreciate that. MC returns home to live with his Nana and starts to build relationships with all the women around him (or at least the ones you choose. Some girls are required though). So guide MC through these relationships to build your harem.

MoonBox has created the most diverse cast of girls I think I've ever seen in an AVN (at least one grounded in a "real world"). And I love each and every one of them. They're all a joy to interact with and the relationships MC is building with all of them make the game incredibly engaging.

The game is a perfect example of simple concept executed flawlessly.

So if you're looking for a fun slice of life style harem game then you should absolutely give Grandma's House a try. You won't regret it.

the only downside to this otherwise perfect game is that there are no animations.

About a third of the way through v0.04 I notice that I'm not hard at all with no idea why. The character models are attractive, there's no glaring errors in the writing, and there aren't really any fetishes I hate at this point. The dev is clearly an ass man while I prefer boobs, but that's definitely not the problem. About 20 minutes of clicking later I finally figure out the problem. This "game" is boring as hell. You meet a woman, decide if you find her attractive, and regardless of your choice she's instantly into you. There are no other choices beyond "do you want to have a sex scene with this character you already said is hot" and all the characters interact in the exact same way with the MC regardless of personal circumstance. Your aunts, the married women, the random barista, and the girl who's been crushing on you for basically her whole life all interact exactly the same with the MC. With no choices on how you interact with them the whole thing winds up so one note that I was bored out of my mind.

There are some good things to this VN. MC is not a perverted asshole and thus breaks the standard mold for harem games. This is very much appreciated. There are a wide variety of women to choose from. And while the bulk of story bored me, people who enjoy it will appreciate the quantity. Even rushing through dialogue after I got bored there was easily an hour or more of content. Some people will greatly enjoy their trip to Grandma's House.

This is a fun little title, and I've added it to the list of games on my watchlist. While there is nothing groundbreaking here, the world feels lived-in and I found it easy to follow the chains of events as they generally felt organic and timely to the story.

If the game has a strength, it's in the writing and natural dialogues infused with enough humor to be engaging without bludgeoning the player over the head with it.

For the most part, the girls are interesting and attractive, and the developer has done a good job of creating a wide variety of girls to enjoy besides the titular "Nana."

While a competent effort, this feels like a 3.75 star project in its current state, but rounding up to 4 stars is definitely more fair than rounding down to 3. What holds this title back from being a top shelf title in my opinion is the frequent egregious clipping in the art (Nana's robe and the massage table scene leap to mind) as well as the occasional overt porn logic that leads to some disappointingly unearned sexual encounters.

I'm familiar with the strategy of letting the MC have some side action relatively easily while the main love interests take more effort, but it's difficult to shift from a narrative that takes itself relatively seriously for the first hour to a masseuse all but fucking the MC within 30 seconds of meeting him for the first time without even the pretense of it being a service offering of the parlor.

The addition of sound and maybe a little occasional music would also help push this project over the top.

Those few issues aside, the greatest compliment I can give a game is to say that I'll continue playing it and sponsoring it's creation. I will certainly keep playing, and I'm half-a-star from pledging to support the creator, because it's clear he cares about producing something enjoyable and (strangely) relatable.

I will watch this one with great interest.

**EDIT** I will confess to having written the original view before I had completed all of the content, and I'm revising my thoughts a bit. This is a bit over a 4 star game. It does improve markedly as Moonbox gains confidence in the story and art.

The strengths remain the same: The MC is likeable and even if the story does descend into porn logic frequently, it's no more egregious about it than many better-rated titles out there. I will be sponsoring this dev after the first of the month.

Personally it's refreshing your not swarmed by barely legal LIs or Lolis everywhere. Yes there a small handful here(Barely Legal, not loli). But this game focus on the Fine Wine of 30s-60s woman.

All personalities are great. With a positive attitude and wholesome family feel to it. But it also provides the kinks your looking for, without forcing them on you.

So many times I'm like look another damn footjob or titjob(not personal favorites of mine) Without the option for something else. Here they try to make sure you have options. Be it as simple as that or as more higher up like BDSM or Watersports.

Honestly, this game is a gem. I won't lie, I'm not usually into the uber thicc mega mommy milkers and such, but that doesn't mean they're not attractive. They're just generally not my type. Really enjoying this one. Setup is pretty typical harem fare, which is fine. The thing I like is the focus more on older ladies, and bigger girls. When a game presents multiple cougars that are in the thicc/curvy category, that's pretty much a solid win for me. Add to that, that the MC isn't a raging, incel douchebag, and is actually just NICE to people, it's even more enjoyable. Seriously devs, the incel douchebag MC, just...don't...just don't.

But this game doesn't have that issue! It's not really a "game" so much as a visual novel to be honest. There is no "gameplay". The only options you get are "Do you want to sexually pursue this woman? Yes/No" And then the content is gated off based on if you want to play with that particular model or not. And I'm fine with that! I also enjoy the inclusion of other ethnicities for the ladies. While this isn't unique, I have noticed that a lot of AVN's will have a token non-white lady in the lineup, but they will have almost no actual screentime in the game. This one, actually gives them a decent amount of content. Priya and her content in particular is enjoyable for me, especially with the most recent update.

So, yeah! Nice game! It isn't an ordeal to play the MC, as he isn't so antithetical to basic human decency that it pulls me out of the story, and the models are nice, and the sex scenes are fun. Ok so after multiple updates and further expansion of the game, I have more to say. FIrst, still loving this game, a LOT. It's really damn good, and I eagerly await updates. When I see the thumbnail pop up, I have a moment of pure glee. Nothing about the overall theme of the game is different, it's still a standard harem game, but there are some traits to this one that I feel are very unique, and need to be pointed out, and praised, because it really does tap into a few fun kinks that I don't see tapped into much, or at least it's beginning to dip into those kinks at least.

First off, voyeurism/exhibitionism. I dunno, I think a lot of devs shy away from this pairing, for fear of people losing their shit and screaming "urmagurd NTR cuckness! gross! uninstall!!" and it's just so far from the reality. There is a scene near the end of the most recent update, as of 6-27-2022, that encapsulates why letting someone watch the fun times, can be hot as hell. It's not someone being denied pleasure, they are an integral part to the entire sexual encounter. Having them watch, increases the pleasure for the other 2 members, and it's clearly building to including the other in for later fun times. But for now, they're just happy to watch, and get themselves off. And I personally really appreciate that. I've always enjoyed having ladies pleasure themselves for me, or vice versa, it's a really fantastic bit of foreplay, leading to some hot sexy times. But AVN's avoid it like the plague usually, and that's a shame, because it's damn fun, and erotic as hell. But this game, is more than happy to include that. And it's still focused on female centric pleasuring, which again, a HUGE plus for me. I enjoy my own orgasms sure, but I've always had more fun with partners when I'm spending my time/energy getting them off. Not as a sub mind you, but as the dominant one, controlling their pleasure, and having fun playing their body like an instrument, with the symphony being that glorious series of moans and screams, leading to the climax. It's so satisfying to do that. To see them laying there, quivering and giggly after you made their toes curl, and then round 2 is me having my own fun. Which is usually even more fun because now they are REALLY revved up. And this game captures that sensation wonderfully. I dunno, I feel I'm rambling but, it really is a nice touch, that I don't see in too many of these AVN's. The amount of focus on the MC pleasuring his stable of lovers is a chef's kiss kind of thing, and the focus on thicc milfs/cougars, especially of varied ethnicities is always a huge plus. He's not an asshole, he's caring and gentle, and then rough and dominant when he needs to be. But it's not in the tone of someone venting some unresolved issues, like a lot of games, it's just a guy who knows the lady he's with likes it a bit more rough, so he provides, knowing the end result will be very worth it.

A LOT of new characters keep popping up every update , which is also a good thing , but it stalls the progress with the main girls you already know.
Not a lot of freedom in the game , you don't have many choices on what your character does other than if you are interested in the new girl or not.
As a foot guy it is kind of annoying that watersports is a fetish before some feet action hehe. Reading the dialogue will be a lot more fun if the repetitiveness is removed - every morning is basically the same ( Grandma cooks you breakfast and you joke around..)

side note with a lil story spoiler i need to mention:

A little hard to believe that a professional masseuse , who's seen every body type and cock in town will let you bang her virgin pus , but your horny drunk aunt , who hasn't been touched in ages and is into you will not let you eat her out at least.

Pros:
The story is not dumb or unbelievable , you can actually feel making most of the choices that MC makes.
The renders, even if not perfect are not those square asses that make me laugh every time.
There's variety in the girls - both personality and character models.
Loving the GILF and BBW stuff , as well as Watersports. Games with a lot of fetishes are always welcome - and you can skip them if you don't like some of them , but it is the best when you have them.

IN summary if the game has more feet stuff (personal fetish) and more freedom of choices it could easily be 4 stars. If the renders also improve a lot in quality it could hit 5 stars. Not a bad game - worth your time if you're into older women and are sick of the same body type every other dev makes.
