VN - Ren'Py - Grandma's House [Part 5 v0.80] [Moonbox]

It's a porn game but it lacks animations. That's a critical flaw. I ran through the game really quickly and the sex scenes were extremely poor quality, even ignoring the lack of animations. The dev is extremely stingy with renders during the sex scenes. The problem from here is that the text isn't good enough to make up for the lack of animations, and the still-renders don't differ much from still to still. Basically, it'll be the girl's expression slightly changing, or the mc will have moved forward a few inches but the girl is still in the exact same position/spot as the last render.

Lack of plot, lack of animations, lack of compelling flavor text, lack of compelling love interests, no conflict in the game, every woman is instantly 100% fine with being just one of many of the MC's women, and the most unsexy cucking scenes I've ever seen. Every character in the game is as paper-thin as the plot. The MC has the regular harem MC aura where everyone is attracted to him despite him not having any personality or character. Far too many typical scenarios going on in the game where the MC shows that he is a "real man" despite not doing anything at all. A broke, jobless man living with his grandma, btw. Also apparently has a kid on the way on top of that. The guy is a complete loser but the game likes to act like he is the best man on Earth.

I could give this a pass if it was just your average porn game, but the lack of animations puts this in the 1-star range.

Grandma's house is a tough game to note of all the games that i played recently.
I think this game deserve some love but i do not understand all those 5* reviews.

Awsome points :
- The renders are nice not top notch but very good
- The variety of kinks is good
- The writting in the sex scenes are good

Ok/good points :
- No animation but the sex scenes are well done
- No corruption but most all the women are easy they want all sex
- The length and content of the game is Excellent BUT *

The awful turn/off :
OMG The story is Awful, dull ... you get 50% of that awful sweetness, if it was a CUDDLE game i would have put 5stars ... but ... it is a porn game comon , why put so much time with useless girls you will not even be able to fuck for now , 1 ok but 3 or 4 who take all the time of screen in the game is way too much ... but if it is your kind of thing , be naked with women in your bed with sexual tension for hours without doung nothing to them , well this game is for you me it is a turn off ... i played the first and second update , deleted the game at the third ...

Honorable mention to the scene in the plane

I played grandma's house from the beginning and back then it was extremely promising where I couldn't wait for the next update & stacked up against the best when it comes to MILF games. Initially there was some seduction/corruption elements of the women , unfortunately there was a point where that ended and now the women just throw themselves at MC with no romancing or flirting. It's totally unsatisfying & in my opinion ruins the game, because there is simply no suspense.

My favorite part of this game honestly is the build up, the slow burn that you have with some characters. Honestly would have liked a bit more of a slower burn with a few characters present in game. But it is what it is and even with that this is still easily one of my top 3 games. Past few days were great playing the whole thing.

Make the MC more kinky. Why does Katie have to be the only one to get hosed on. Makes me feel kinda bad about as she's so sweet :"( Would also have liked if MC did support some character's jealousy. If Katie is jealous then she doesn't always have to be "punished" for it

I think this is one of the best VNs around. Normally I'm not into games with so many characters, but somehow MoonBox finds a way to give every one of them some screen time. I remember every single one of them. I've seen games with lots of characters and half the time I ask "who the hell is this?" So far my favorites are the four redhead household of tenant-friends. Ya know.

Technically, I do enjoy how the characters look and the lighting. The posing has improved over time and it's at a spot I really like.

Storywise, I do like stories with arcs, but a slice of life story like this is a neat escape from all the drama that most VNs have. Think of it like walking through the park with someone, but instead of holding your beloved's hand, you're holding something else.

This game and frankly, Moonbox as a developer, should be the benchmark of quality for adult visual novels. It is both a comfort game as it never fails to hit me right in my feels and make me laugh but also, get me just all the way horned up. Updates are both quick as fuck and solid on content. One of the only games I genuinely go all the way back to the beginning and play through every time I pick it back up. A masterclass not only in harem/incest but just this type of game in general.

In my opinion this is one of the best adult virtual novels out there. Updates are consistent and the story and sex scenes are amazing. I especially like the family of gingers. Give this one a download and I guarantee you won't regret it.

With dozens of female characters, this already is a solid harem game.

I really enjoy the amount of women in your harem. A wide variety with lots of different kinks. I also really enjoy the size of their assets. Currently playing my way through Part 2.

Only fixes I would suggest: the obvious grammatical error, some sound would take it to the next level, some of the women's teeth our shaped weird, sometimes fabrics of the MC clothes would clip through his penis, and I would hope their will be a pt4.

I was quite invested in the game when it first came out, but gradually as time went by, the game became shittier and shittier.
Nowadays the game is just a spin the wheel and fuck whoever wins ( EXCEPT THE GM) , Boring sex scenes with boring characters that doesn't contribute anything to the story.
I played part one and skipped part 2 entirely, downloaded part 3 and wasted an hour on useless sex scenes with the servants and god knows who for the 100th time. trust me, if you want even a decent story, come nowhere near this shitfest.
This game has wasted so much time that it's definitely one for the " never to downlaod" list.

I could only get v0.37 on Android to work with Chapter 1 on Android, so I haven't experienced the newer content yet.

+ Probably the most diverse number of models that I can think of off the top of my head. The girls are diverse in age, race, body types, etc. I love, love, variety!!
I love how we also get different renders when the girl doesn't have makeup on. All this diversity helps with immersion.

+ The MC is a likeable guy.
Not all VNs are like that.

-- My only complaint is that it "feels" with nearly every interaction someone is saying "Oh, she's the sweetest," or "She's the cutest." There is so much baby talk and who is sweeter than who, that all the teeth have rotted out of my head from so much sweetness.

+ If it wasn't for the variety (yet again a big selling point here) of kinks, then the sweetness would have rotted this VN and it would have been uninstalled.

OVERALL:
It's a fun porn VN with plenty of kinks and flavors of women and no real end in sight, but that may be okay.

I played my first VN maybe a year ago, and have since enjoyed probably 50 of them. This one is my absolute go-to.

There are no animations here. There are VNs with far more realistic renders. There are VNs with more engaging plots overall. So why is this game better?

1) The render poses are well done and realistic. There is no poorly posed kinked hair, joints out of whack etc. More important than flashy animations and hyper realistic reflections etc. is making sure you're not pulled out of the moment. You don't say a book sucks because there are no animations, right? No animation is much better than bad animation.

2) The facial expressions are beautifully emoted for humor, arousal and feel-goodness. The expressions are not grossly exaggerated either, which is something off-putting I've seen in some other VNs lately.

3) It's a fucking WHOLESOME IC VN . There was maybe a span of one update or so where the wholesome back and forth got a bit repetitive and overly much, but it's just right most of the time. The reasoning why IC porn has had such a meteoric rise and is a kink for so many is a bit of a mystery I think, but perhaps this VN has tapped into some of the underlying reasons for it and focused on so much wholesome love and connection, not just taboo deviance.

4) It's minimally stressful. No, there's not lasting conflict in the plot that spans multiple updates. Hell there's hardly a conflict that lasts more than a scene. Some reviewers say that means the VN lacks depth, personally I say it means the VN is just laser focused on what's important--love (not just sexual love) and banging. I can't stress enough that this is a FEATURE for many, not a drawback. For instance, I don't play horror games because they're stressful AF. It's stressful just WATCHING people play Resident Evil, for instance. This is a world you can escape to and know you'll feel good after your visit--even if you left your cock in your pants, haha.

5) The variety (and sheer number) of LIs is staggering and... well, again, wholesome. Most marginalized groups are represented here, and respectfully so. Most shapes, sizes and races are represented. Off the top of my head all I can think of that's missing is maybe a vitiligo character. Yes with so many characters it has the potential to be frustrating when you find one you really like that's a minor character so you don't see as often *cough* cop Sandra *cough*. But if there's only one character you like in this VN then I pity you. In fact, expect to discover characters/relationships/situations that you had no idea you were into.

6) The most reliably regular updates of any dev I follow. There's no intentionally stringing supporters along to try to milk more money out of them. Hell Grandma's House is FREE as long as you're willing to wait a couple weeks post-release for updates. That means the supporters are people with expendable income they're able to earmark for supporting this project, not people being forced to pay for admission. Everything is so wholesome, haha.

7) It doesn't take itself too seriously, and is often hilarious.

8) It covers a wide variety of fetishes and kinks, and it's easy to avoid those you're not into. Maybe I'm just lucky, but even the most devious of kinks I have are included, and the kinks that are too far for me aren't even an option. It pushes the boundaries exactly as far as I like them pushed. Wait no, lactation doesn't do anything for me but I still include that content because I'm a completionist, haha.

One thing I'd like to see is complete gallery scenes. There are several scenes that are missing content if I replay through the gallery, but I can see in full if I go back and load instead from a save point (one that comes to mind specifically is the Xmas 'gift unwrapping' scene in MCs bedroom w/2 characters). That means you're forced to have tens if not hundreds of saves if you want to quickly visit a favorite scene that includes all the content you want.

That aside, this VN is just enjoyable AF. If you want stressful plot devices and focus on conflict, go play something else. MoonBox has a masterpiece here as far as I'm concerned.

tl;dr play this game for the porn and you'll really enjoy it.

The game started off with a fairly promising story but it's since been abandoned for the most part. Now the main story focus is progressively corrupting the 20-odd LIs, some more than others. It's a kinetic novel that runs through each LI's mostly self-contained story bits.

There are no stakes, no restraints, and no overarching goal except banging every woman in every way you can and the array of fetish stuff is really nice. The renders are fantastic, the girls are all hot in their own way and the scenes are great.

Don't expect a compelling story. Again, treat it as fap material, don't feel bad about skipping through parts you're not interested in and you'll have a good time. Solid 4/5 game.

On an extra note, I think this game would actually be better as a sandbox-style game shockingly enough. Something like the game "Come Home" except it's just the stories and no stats or monotonous stuff

Even slice of life needs something, dude. Comedy. Slight issues. I don't know, some cooking scenes. A festival. Something that brings out some plot device up, some issue that needs to be resolved and creates an interaction between the characters so that the purpose of their interaction isn't solely to fuck.

That does not exist here. Characters exist solely to fuck and to be fucked. So you think this game would be short, given that there is no actual plot of relevance happening, right? If there's nothing worth reading, then at least this is gonna be a damn good HCG grabber, right?!

No. Oh no, we can't have that. Instead, how about you read through several hours of every character's mommy/daddy/parental affection starvation? The protagonist is the daddy/monkey/master/sir of half the cast 100% of the time, and they're his cute snuggle bug firecracker kitty cat cutie! For the other half, they're his auntie/mama/nana/mommy and he's their cute little mama's boy big small little man boy chubby grown up favorite person! Except when they're fucking, because every woman is submissive, so even his aunt calls him daddy when they're in bed. Awww! By the way, every single word I've written here is not ironic and is said in game, repeatedly.

There is literally not a single worthy reading line in this VN. It is characters gushing over eachother like that and going 'bout the GOOD OL' DAYS OH HOW I MISS THE OLD DAYS REMEMBER WHEN YOU WERE THIS TINY MY LITTLE BABY BOY?!. They see eachother naked and touch their asses and dicks regularly but that's definitely normal family behavior as well as sleeping cuddled naked or in underwear, so all the moral qualms about fucking don't even make sense but they gotta be there so we can drag this game for a couple more updates where all you do is kiss their neck. Who's a good little cutie patootie big boy man of the house?! You are!

There's like a hundred fucking characters too, and since there is no story, you have absolutely no clue when you're going to see them again. Head pops out of the pillow one day and you're just like yeah fuck it I think I'm going to visit that one clothing shop today. Unprompted. No build up. Just "oh yeah this model needs some sex scenes this update lets do it". Then you find other characters there because hey why the fuck not? Lets make sure they don't interact and that anything that happens happens after your sex scene with one of them though, because again - they're really only here to fuck, they don't exist outside the MCs' dick radius.

I'm giving this two stars mostly because its really easy to dodge characters you don't like (there's an option to pursue them whenever you meet one and since there's no story them lacking or not doesn't really make any fucking difference at all), AND because Fiona is the only good character in this entire fucking game - because she's the only one that doesn't have weird daddy issues and actually treats her relationship with you in a different way than everyone else in this VN.

I can't even think of a case where I'd say "only read this if..." because even if you ARE into incest or into characters gushing over eachother for hours on end I'm sure there's something that's at least a couple dozen times less infuriating and also doesn't waste 10 hours reminding you that you two love each other oh so much. This is a bad, bad game, and if you download the unholiness that this is I can only pray for your soul because I cannot believe anyone has the mental fortitude to actually read through the absolute word vomit that this VN spews out as writing.

Renders are nice but this has been dragged on for so long I'm not reading anything and just clicking through to get to the good parts. There's been so much "harem creep" over the years that the VN is up to 33 women and you aren't going to see some of them for dozens of updates so there's no reason getting too invested in this. The writing may as well not be there because it's nothing but characters gushing over each other, you're better off just extracting the images and looking at those.

One of the best VNs on the site. Lots of content. Regularly updated. Some very sexy incest scenes (the family of redhead women are superb).

While the story isn't amazing (it's not awful) the writing itself is quite good. Humourous and self-aware about what it is. Its not Midlife Crisis levels of funny but its in the same vein and does a good job.

Its a pure fantasy. MC is a god among men and women worship him. Just enjoy the ride.

One of my all time favorites, yes it doesnt have animations but the LI are just perfect and cover a lot of the bases for me. MoonBox just released a side project to test out animations, MB said he will not be adding animations to the main game to maintain 2 updates a month which I am fine with. This is just a fun VN with great characters and some good male Dom scenes, I do wish we would see the female cop more because I prefer Male Dom but I dont mind some Female Dom here and there especially if they let us turn the tables on them in the middle of it.

This game has so much content, scenes, and decent renders, but that's it. You'll need to temporarily suspend your frontal lobe to enjoy this one.

Overall:
This is average. This could have easily been split into multiple games with few LI in each, the sheer amount of women makes it impossible to feature them all no matter how often the dev does updates.

Some girls are completely forgotten about even though they're 'supposedly' carrying your child inside them.

All in all this game has A LOT of content, however it leaves a poor aftertaste because the mc just can't keep up with the amount of LI, no matter how much the mc flirts with a LI it feels shallow and aimed to get her to drop her pants, because he would say the exact same thing to the next girl he meets 5 minutes later.

i think 'middling' is the right word to sum this up for me.
the plot is in another game, cos it left this one before it even started, and the writing is not even close to a novel, so i take umbrage at what this site clarifies as a VN. more VC than VN.

this is just a wet dream made visual with no real direction. indeed the girl from the massage parlour has become a forgotten entity since way back and the pregnant ex pops in when the after thought occurs, but some of the women are mostly hot and cold for screen time. gotta feel for the dog.
poor planning/no pre-planning lead to this. quite common now. how the MC holds a harem he barely feeds i will never know. days should be more packed instead of almost a singular focus and an occasional after thought update to update.

visually it does the job and floods you with a plethora of sex scenes to hit most peeps buttons. a little overmuch for my taste but i cannot fault it just for that. many come here just for imagery, as a whole host of site feed reviews will show, so if you are looking for purely fap material look no further.

This is a game I keep coming back to. The developer churns out updates like nobodies business, and while they aren't incredibly long updates, the content always delivers.
The game has an extremely mild story; basically nonexistent. It's just a wholesome af, slice-of-life, bang-your-way-through-the-day AVN, and I love it for that.
You don't play this one to get blown away in story (very very little) or drama (extremely rare) or quality of renders (they're decent) or music (there is none), you play it to get entertained.
This has got to be one of, if not THE funniest avn out there, and I love it. I'll always come back for more.
